Chapter 37: The Conquered Foreigner

Feng Chuge praised like a little fangirl, but upon closer inspection her eyes were clear, not at all like she was obsessed, but her curiosity was genuine.

"The food is here, let's eat!" Liu Miaozi looked at the waiter who served the food with gratitude again. The food was served at the perfect time. Finally, she didn't have to listen to her calling him "little brother" anymore.

On the other side, after sitting down, two foreigners picked up the teapot on the table and poured two cups of boiled water. They drank two cups in a row and finally relieved the burning sensation in their throats.

Since they got separated from their assistant, the two men have been trying to communicate with others for more than two hours in the hot weather, but no one could understand what they were saying.

After drinking two glasses of boiled water and recovering, the older foreigner looked at Yu Wuwei and said, "Mr. Manager, could you please do me a favor and contact my assistant to pick me up here?"

"Okay, no problem." Yu Wuwei thought it was nothing as it was just a favor.

He called his assistant according to the contact information provided by the foreigner, reported the location of Chaoxianju, and asked him to come and pick them up.

"Teacher Charlie, I think this restaurant is a scam. They're taking advantage of us foreigners by charging such high prices! Even five-star hotels rarely have such expensive dishes. When we get back, we're going to file a complaint with the Chinese Price Bureau. If they don't accept the complaint, we'll have the French Embassy negotiate with them!"

After Yu Wuwei left, the younger French girl spoke quietly in French. It was obvious that she was still very skeptical about what Yu Wuwei had just said!

"Jenny, don't make any rash judgments before you confirm whether the other party's dishes are worth the price." The older foreigner said calmly, "Besides, this manager helped us contact the assistant. No matter what, we can't treat someone who helped us like this."

"Hmph~" After hearing what the other party said, the blonde girl was still a little unhappy, but her expression was obviously better. "Well, considering that he can speak fluent French, if his food wasn't so bad, I wouldn't complain!"

The implication is that if the dishes served do not satisfy her, she will definitely complain!

However, when the waiter brought the dishes they ordered to the table, all the dissatisfaction in the blonde girl's heart disappeared.

"Oh! God, this fragrance makes me drool just by smelling it!" Charlie couldn't help but speak when he smelled the strong aroma of the food up close.

"That's right, this fragrance really whets my appetite. It's true that Chinese culinary achievements have reached the pinnacle!"

Jenny was also attracted by the delicious food in front of her.

"Wow, I've never eaten such delicious food, not even in the best hotels in Paris. I think I've fallen in love with this place. The Chinese manager was right. The price is absolutely worth it!"

Charlie took a bite and closed his eyes in ecstasy. He felt that the Chinese saying "Misfortune may be a blessing in disguise" was very true. If they had not been separated from their assistant today, how could they have eaten such delicious food?

"That's right! I take it back. I won't complain to China's Price Bureau, let alone the embassy. How can such a delicious dish be subject to a complaint?"

Jenny was completely captivated by the delicious food in front of her, and she clumsily picked up the food with her chopsticks.

Now she really regrets why she didn't learn how to use the Chinese tableware called chopsticks. It is too torturous to look at the delicious food in front of her but not be able to enjoy it to her heart's content!

The two Frenchmen were very satisfied with the meal. Charlie never thought that he would be captured by Chinese food one day, but today he had to take a new look.

After the two of them had their fill, they came to the counter. Mr. Charlie said to Yu Wuwei, "Dear Manager, may I know your name?"

The guest was very polite, and Yu Wuwei smiled back: "My last name is Yu."

"Oh! Mr. Yu, the food here is so delicious. I think I've fallen in love with it. When I go back, I'll definitely introduce my friends to come and taste your delicious Chinese food." Charlie said with a little excitement.

"Thank you for your affirmation, and I look forward to meeting you again." Yu Wuwei smiled slightly to express his gratitude.

Then the two paid and left.

After seeing off the foreign couple, Yu Wuwei returned to the lobby and looked inside, only to find that the young lady who had teased him twice had left without him noticing.

“Ah!” Yu Wuwei couldn’t help but sigh, “What a pity I still couldn’t talk to that aloof young lady! I don’t even know her name…”

Compared to Feng Chuge, Yu Wuwei was more impressed by the cold and aloof woman standing behind her.

By nine o'clock in the evening, most of the guests in the restaurant had left. Yu Wuwei handed all the cleaning work to the employees and ran to the backyard to see the three fairy seeds he planted there.

However, to Yu Wuwei's disappointment, none of them sprouted.

Yu Wuwei took out the three immortal seeds doubtfully, and saw that they were still the same as they were in the morning, without any change.

What's going on?

According to the God of Food, these three immortal seeds will germinate in just one day, bloom in just one day, and bear fruit in just one day, so a harvest can be completed in just three days.

However, now half a day has passed, and these three seeds show no signs of sprouting!

Yu Wuwei believed that the God of Cookery would not lie to him. After all, in the eyes of the God of Cookery, he was a great god with a high level of realm, and also the leader in his culinary advancement. It was impossible for him to lie.

Could it be? Yu Wuwei instantly thought of a possibility—acclimatization!

In ancient times, oranges grown in the south of the Huai River were called oranges, while those grown in the north of the Huai River were called tangerines.

I'm afraid I was taking it for granted!

After all, this is a plant from the fairyland!

The people in heaven use fairy soil and irrigate with water from heaven. I’m afraid the soil and water in this mortal world don’t have the nutrients it needs!

If this is the case...

Yu Wuwei blinked.

It seems that we need to get some soil and water from heaven!
