Artificial Life 26
"Are you sure?" Julian didn't even raise his head. His attention seemed to be on the PSP in his hand. The yellow spherical character on the screen made a "LocoRoco" sound. The boy crossed his legs and let the waiter check the ring device on his leg. "Hey, is it about to start?"
"The guests are ready," Ethan nodded slightly. Kaito Kid left the ship last night as planned, and the staff of the Selmus cleaned up the bloodstains in the room. They had stayed up all night to open the blood bags. Of course, they didn't know whether Kaito Kid had really left. Anyway, as the protagonist of Aoyama's comics, he would never die, so they didn't care whether he would leave any psychological trauma. "It's almost time to enter the venue."
"Okay," Julian sighed, jumped off the chair, and said to Ethan, "I'm really sorry to bother you during this period of time."
āIām having a pretty good time.ā

In order to create a good atmosphere and for the sake of art display, the lights were dimmed at the auction booth. Most people sat in their seats wearing masks, and occasionally they would whisper to each other. Bids were not made by raising auction signs, but by tapping the buttons on their seats to increase the price. Each seat was shielded so that others could not see the bids, and there was no need to reveal one's identity. After the transaction was completed, the organizer would deliver the goods to the guests.
Zhu Fu Jingguang stayed at the last row of the auction seats, still maintaining his dignified persona, and was dismissive of most of the items on auction tonight, whether it was the mining rights of a certain oil field, the handle of a powerful person, or a drug of questionable ingredients... None of these caught his eye, until the finale item came on stage, and then he finally put away his uninterested expression.
The boy with black hair and red eyes walked up with his hands behind his back. He walked briskly as if he was playing a happy game. The light shone on his body, and his bright red eyes reflected the light like gems. He walked slowly to the side of the auctioneer and smiled happily at the guests in the audience.
The auctioneer looked around and spoke slowly, "Ladies and gentlemen, this lot is the one that everyone is paying attention to tonight, and it is what we told you in advance - S-8921-M." Hearing this series of numbers, Zhu Fu Jingguang clenched his fists and then relaxed them. "The lot for sale comes from the Rex Brain Laboratory. It is a fine variety with genes carefully selected. It is in the hands of the famous Mendoza family." There was a rustling sound in the auction hall, "It participated in a drug experiment."
"Please refer to the product description for details," the auctioneer emphasized. "In short, it is the perfect filter."
"He is the key to the door that opens to human evolution."
Even though he was in the last row, Zhu Fu Jingguang could see the boy's face clearly. Julian raised his head, and his expression seemed to be looking down at the guests present, with a god-like indifference and compassion. In the face of human greed and blasphemy, his narrowed bright red eyes were like a cut throat wound.
The boy looked directly into the eyes of the people below the stage as they fixed them on him. The determination, ecstasy and calculation in their eyes were enough to overwhelm any ordinary person, but Julian just raised the corners of his lips as usual.
Showing a carefree smile that is appropriate for this age.
