Blaze 6
In a pub, three guys who haven't seen each other for a long time are having a class reunion.
"Outrageous! Really outrageous!" Matsuda Jinpei took a big gulp of beer and lay on the table complaining, "What kind of person should I ask him and he just laughed it off!" Furuya Rei filled his glass affectionately, "Really, where the hell is his dad hiding! Why doesn't he come out and give his reckless son a fist of love?!"
"Calm down, Jinpei-chan," Hagiwara Kenji pushed the wine glass away speechlessly. His childhood friend sometimes stepped on the accelerator too much, which was both an advantage and a disadvantage. "And don't encourage him, Jyoutani-chan! I'm the one who's going to move him back later!"
Facing Hagiwara Kenji's accusing eyes, Furuya Rei cleared his throat twice and changed the subject as if nothing had happened, "Is there still no news about Mr. Ishii Yamato?"
"No," Matsuda Jinpei adjusted his big tongue, "Ishii hasn't been that persistent in recent years. He used to run around to all kinds of places after get off work and on vacation, and you couldn't even see his shadow. Hagi said she couldn't trick him into going to a social gathering—"
"Hey, hey, hey," Hagiwara Kenji picked up a fried skewer and blocked his childhood friend's mouth, "Don't mention Kenji-chan's defeat. Do you know how guilty Kenji-chan felt when facing the disappointed eyes of those young ladies?"
"You guys," facing this pair of young friends who were telling manzai stories, Furuya Rei coldly pointed out a fact that everyone was avoiding, "Could it be that Ishii Yamato has passed away?"
After these words were spoken, there was a moment of silence at the table.
"...I have confirmed the unidentified bodies in recent years," the slightly tipsy Matsuda Jinpei sobered up and continued with a frown. He said that he had never thought about this aspect. It was absolutely impossible. They were all police officers and were used to seeing the worst things in the world. "There is no relevant record. Ishii also provided DNA, and there is no match in the database."
"Have you ever been to Ishii's hometown?" Furuya Rei stopped Hagiwara Kenji from speaking and continued word by word, "I'm not talking about the place where Ishii Yamato opened a store, but the place where Ishii's family of three lived when his mother was still alive."
"No," Matsuda Jinpei narrowed his eyes, carefully looking at his classmate whom he hadn't seen for a long time, "He went back by himself, but he still came back disappointed."
"And the road is not convenient to travel," Hagiwara Kenji also added, "Although it only takes more than three hours by Shinkansen from Tokyo to Yamagata Prefecture, Ikki's home has to go up the mountain road..." He tucked his hair behind his ears, "More than ten years ago, there was an earthquake in Yamagata Prefecture and Hokkaido, and many places suffered landslides and changes in the earth's crust structure. The new road has not been repaired yet. Besides, no one is at the Ishii family over there..."
So, no one in the police academy team had ever been to Ishii Kazuki's hometown in the true sense, but the explanation given by Ishii Kazuki was reasonable and there was nothing wrong with it. Kenji Hagiwara touched his chin and asked with a smile.
"What are you doubting about Ikki-chan, Furuya-chan?"
"I can't tell you right now," Furiya Rei didn't avoid the gazes of his two classmates. Cold water dripped down the wall of the cup onto his knuckles, leaving water marks on his dark skin. "Don't worry."
Looking at the two police officers' frowning eyebrows, the blond young man added, "I investigated because I believed in him."
And if you really didn't feel anything was wrong, why would you have this expression?
