The Day When Fire and Brimstone Rained from the Sky - Alvin Lin Mendoza 8

Have I read the original version of this, Artus? Kelver pulled the blanket up on the little girl and asked the red-haired boy with a little confusion.

You have seen it. Artes's answer was brief and clear, his lips moving and most of his face covered in shadow. You told your brother that before...

You told ▇▇ and ▇▇.

.

Miyano Shiho woke up in the warm bed.

She didn't dream and it was a rare long sleep. The alarm clock on the bedside table had already reached eleven o'clock. Miyano Shiho was stunned for a moment before she got up and washed.

Although it was a movie marathon, the child's body was still easily sleepy. Miyano Shiho finally couldn't control herself and fell headfirst onto the sofa. The last impression she had was Dumbledore falling off a tall building and Kelver's helpless sigh. Then, she fell into a warm embrace, just like her sister...

The little girl paused while brushing her teeth, and she recalled with a serious face.

Did I really call Kelfer "sister" when I was unconscious?

Chicken stuffing rolled into meatballs with melted cheese, the aroma of hand-ground coffee wafted into the house, "I have to go out this afternoon," Kelver swallowed the last bite of lunch, "You are welcome to do whatever you want. If you are bored, you can continue watching yesterday's movie. Be safe."

Miyano Shiho suppressed the faint disappointment in her heart, picked up the coffee and took a sip, "Then how about having dinner together when you come back?"

"It should be fine," Kelver nodded, "Just going to the lab and visiting my brother at Mescal's place."

"Brother?" Miyano Shiho was a little surprised to hear the unexpected word. It was more shocking that Kelver explained his itinerary so frankly. Even those who were not mystics in the organization were used to keeping their whereabouts secret, for fear that they would be framed by colleagues or undercover agents with whom they had bad relations. "Yours?"

Kelver smiled. "He's five years old now, and a little noisy. Mescal asked me to concentrate on preparing for the experiment, so he'll help me take care of him first, and will send him to live with us after the project is settled."

"Is that so..." Miyano Shiho's eyes shifted slightly, and the rumors about Kelver that she had heard in the past flashed through her mind. He got the codename purely based on his technical ability, was brought into the organization by Mescal and was loyal to him...

Miyano Shiho feels that her previous impression of Kelver as a cold and crazy person may be largely imaginary. He has strong technical ability but is somewhat ignorant of the ways of the world. He is easy to deceive as long as he is caught in the right spot. Look, Mescal caught his weakness and he acted like a kind person. Doesn't the sentence "wait until the project is settled" really mean "If you can't handle the project well, your brother can forget about coming back"...

However, Miyano Shiho looked at Kelver deeply. Mescal played an indispensable role in Kelver's ability to maintain such a personality in the organization. In other words, Kelver possessed such value in exchange for the organization's indulgence and protection.

So, what kind of experiment did Kelver conduct?
