The Tree of Ahippis 14
Conan Edogawa swore that he had never seen Haibara Ai's face so dark.
The Junior Detective Team and Professor Agasa had never seen it either, which is why the Junior Detective Team bowed their heads and took the scolding in front of Haibara Ai and no one dared to refute or try to stop the fight.
"What the hell are you guys doing?! Is the trunk of a car a place for people to sit?" The little detective bet that there must be more than one reason why she was angry, but this was probably the only reason she could openly vent her anger on. Huibara put her hands on her hips, anger gushing from her eyes, "One or two of you don't take safety seriously!" She turned around and pointed her spearhead at Conan Edogawa and Dr. Agasa who were hesitant to speak, "And you two! Don't you check before driving? Now it's like this-"
It's already such a dangerous situation... Edogawa Conan opened his mouth, wanting to say something but finally closed it. Watson squatted at his feet obediently. He didn't know how this black cat was raised before, but it always had a calm and composed feeling. Even when going out, it knew to follow its owner closely. "Haibara, calm down first," he gestured to the Junior Detective Team next to him, fearing that Haibara Ai would say something in anger. "They really went too far this time," the little detective's tone became stern, and he turned to the Junior Detective Team and said, "You guys, why don't you go home quickly--"
"I don't want it!"
Unexpectedly, the person who spoke first this time was not Kojima Genta, who had always been responsible for taking the lead, but Yoshida Ayumi. "Julian is the brother we met in the mall before, right?" The usually gentle girl held her companion's hand firmly. Her firm eyes seemed to be able to see through the other's disguise and reach the sadness under the anger. "That...he and his brother are both very important people to Ai, right?" She lowered her head, but the hand she held was shaking slightly. "They passed away, and Ai is very sad about this--"
"Why didn't you tell me!"
Everyone was stunned for a moment, and Huihara Ai's eyes widened. Yoshida Ayumi's crying voice was right beside her ears, but the girl held her hand so firmly, "If you are sad, Ai, just tell me! We are friends!"
"Ayumi," Huihara Ai lowered her eyes and looked away, "But this matter has nothing to do with you..."
"Yes, Haibara-san," Kojima Genta came closer now, "My grandfather said that if he passed away, he would ask me to invite my friends to the funeral. At that time, grandpa would play the recording of his own singing of enka, and then I could hug my friends and cry or laugh together with his terrible singing," the boy nodded seriously, "Friends are useful at times like this!"
"Genta's grandfather has the same personality as Genta," Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya complained about Kojima Genta and it had become a conditioned reflex, "But what he said this time was right." Although he was a little shy, the look he gave Haibara Ai was as firm and powerful as the others, "Even if we're not looking at it from the perspective of the Junior Detective League's pursuit of the truth, Haibara-san doesn't have to say it... We just want to accompany you."
"They said so," Edogawa Conan and Dr. Agasa also came up, and he looked at the children with relief in his eyes, "What do you think, Haibara?"
Huihara Ai was silent for a moment, and finally sighed.
"Really." She looked at the faces of the people in front of her with complicated eyes. Watson at her feet meowed, "...I can't do anything to you..."
