Wrongful Conviction 6
"Yawn—" The boy who just turned twelve moved slowly. Even though the department store was almost closing time, he still maintained a steady speed. "Is special effects still too difficult for me to understand?"
Julian, who followed his brother's expectations and went out to spend a normal childhood, happened to meet the specialty of Conan's world, Kamen Rider Hero Show. He simply tried to watch it, but the result was predictable. Edogawa Conan, who was pretending to be a primary school student but was actually full of ellipsis in his heart, didn't get the point. The optimistic bird was confused and realized belatedly that he shouldn't be here.
Although he was not disgusted or impatient, Julian felt that he was really calm. He just relaxed until the end. When the children gathered around the actors for autographs, he quietly slipped away and wandered around the department store.
"Wow," Julian was still a step too late. He could only watch the shutter door being lowered with the other kids next to him. "I missed it."
There were a few familiar children in his peripheral vision, Rice Ball and Bamboo Pole, as well as a little detective wearing glasses and a blue suit, and a little girl with a hairband who was clutching his sleeve tightly. "Damn it," the rice ball-like child pounded the ground unwillingly, "It was so close!"
"So I told you not to be so anxious," Zhugan leaned on his knees and sighed, "It's your own problem, Yuantai. You forgot Kamen Rider's autograph in the department store. The security guard said the store was going to close, but you still rushed in so hastily..."
"Are we going to be locked up until morning?" The only little girl looked uneasy, "It's so dark here... and if I don't go home at night, my mother will be worried..."
"No," the little boy with glasses said, "just go ..."
"Go to the security room on the second floor below ground to find the security guard," Julian happily stole the protagonist's lines, slightly satisfying his own bad taste. The children then realized that there were other people in the building. "Just ask the security guard to open the door for us."
"Indeed," Edogawa Conan was stunned for a moment, and when he looked up, he met Julian's bright red eyes. He subconsciously began to observe people's appearance and behavior, and the first thing he noticed was naturally the conspicuous eye color. He looked to be in his early teens, and his features showed Latin American ancestry, so he should be mixed-race. His clothes were clean and high-quality, and his family background should be relatively good. "Little, ahem, brother, did you miss the closing time and get locked in?"
Almost forgetting that he is now an elementary school student, Conan Edogawa wiped the sweat from his forehead imperceptibly. He had originally planned to go to Professor Agasa's house today to study Case No. 210, but Mouri Ran accepted the invitation of the Junior Detective League on his behalf, so he came out reluctantly.
"Ah, it's the brother I met at the Superman show!" Kojima Genta looked at Julian and shouted loudly, obviously recognizing the audience member who was sitting next to him, "But he left before the signing!"
“Ahem,” Julian said calmly. His reliable brother Ishii once said that not telling the whole truth has the same effect as lying, and there’s no need to feel guilty. “I can’t help it. I drank too much and I’m in a hurry to go to the toilet… By the way, do you all know where the security room is?” He smiled sheepishly, “I just took a quick look at the sign.”
"Indeed, the security room should be in the corner of the basement floor," Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya recalled the guide map, "We should hurry up. It's already late at night. If we don't go home, we'll be scolded."
"Well then," Kojima Genta shouted, raising his left hand, "The Detective Boys, let's escape from the department store, let's begin!"
"Oh——" Five people responded in unison (including Conan Edogawa who looked helpless and Julian who didn't understand but followed the crowd).
