I'm a waste 0.o.

This book was launched on Fanqie on August 27, 2021 and was completed on September 2, 2023. In just over two years, Xianyu finally completed a work of 2.8 million words.

When I typed the last word last night, I still felt very complicated.

There are many reasons for writing this book. One is that I have been reading novels for so long and have always wanted to write one (I believe many people have the same idea as me).

Second, Xianyu was a graduate student in chemical engineering (now a chemical worker). August 21 was the summer vacation between the second and third year of graduate school (summer vacation? Where do graduate students get summer vacation?). After a year of slacking off in the second year of graduate school, I had a premonition that the third year of graduate school would be very hard. But the reason why I named myself Xianyu is because I am really a salty fish.

Do today’s work tomorrow and leave it for the future to worry about.

This is a very bad habit, but at that time, Xianyu was able to squeeze out a lot of time in his busy scientific research life to watch... the anime on Bilibili.

One day I found Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash. The life of the protagonists in the other world was so real. Because they couldn't beat the goblins and had no source of income, the protagonists and their crew were reluctant to throw away their pants even if they had a hole in them. They wore a pair of pants during the day, washed them at night, dried them at night, and wore them again during the day.

After reading it, I got excited and decided to write an adventure story in another world.

In addition to the third point, my girlfriend graduated in June 2021, and suddenly I didn’t have so many trivial things to do in my free time, so I opened the folder creation and Word and started working.

However, works written in a rush are obviously immature.

For example, Xianyu originally planned to write a group portrait, and arranged Xue Feibai, Lu Zhishang, Geng Qingxue, Lv Yan, Liu Rongrong, Ning Wen, Meng Xin, and Wang Zixuan as teammates for An Nuo. But this was too difficult for a novice, and Xianyu overestimated himself.

Therefore, we can see that An Nuo often separates from others in the novel, just because Xianyu cannot write about so many people, which is undoubtedly a major shortcoming of the book.

Of course, this book has more than one shortcoming. I have also seen the good suggestions put forward by everyone in the comment section, but on the one hand, I am not capable enough. On the other hand, after entering the second half of my third year of graduate school, that is, the first half of 2022, I spent a lot of time and energy on my graduation thesis (here, I sincerely thank my graduate supervisor, my mentor).

After I graduated and started working, I had less and less time.

To be honest, because of this book, I had basically no social interaction during the year after I graduated and started working.

While other colleagues would have dinner and play together after get off work, I would go back to my residence and concentrate on writing.

But there are often interruptions due to some busy and unavoidable things.

Some people may ask whether Xianyu is so persistent because the returns are very high.

Hahaha……

Quite the opposite.

This book had only one glorious period, and that was when it had 1.2 million words. The editor recommended it for 1 million words. During that half month, the performance improved a little, making me feel like I had become an online writer. However, the number of words I’m still reading has not exceeded 100,000 (I remember I once set a flag that I would wear women’s clothing if the number of words exceeded 100,000 (︶.̮︶✽)).

But whether before or after this, the achievement of this book is hard to describe in words, and it is basically done out of love.

Xianyu also knows that his poor grades are due to poor handwriting, and there is nothing to say about that.

But after all, it is something I wrote myself, so I still want to finish it completely.

However, it is indeed a bit difficult to keep going, especially when there are no results.

In fact, when the war between Anno and the King of the Royal Court ended, the story was about to move from the tenth volume "Ragnarok" to the eleventh volume "Mobius", and the latter was the real finale, but Xianyu finally compressed the content of the eleventh volume into a dozen chapters and published it.

Xue Feibai, who believed in "born to fight, and never give up until death", was beheaded on the East Plain of Xuelong City by the fallen angel blessed by the "Spirit of Words" under the Demon God in order to protect Xuelong City. However, in order to protect Xuelong City, Xue Feibai's belief became "born to fight, and never give up until death". The plot in which the headless corpse stood up again to kill the invading enemies and guard the East Plain was also briefly mentioned in the book.

Actually, if I were to write, there are still some things to write.

But I was afraid that it would turn out to be like an old lady's foot binding, and coupled with issues like time and revenue, I had to finish it in a hurry.

I haven’t decided what to write for my next book yet, so I should take a break for a while.

Maybe I will write a Western fantasy book about a lord farming for my hobby, or maybe I will write an article that caters to the market for reality (of course, I know that my writing skills are still far from perfect and I need to grow through reading one book after another).
