Chapter 269 Returning Home

Shen Xingmian wasn't embarrassed at all. She had already accepted the title of "goddess," so what was there to be ashamed of in calling her a "divine doctor"?

She smiled, waved, and greeted him: "Hello, Grandpa. I'm Jun'er's cousin. My name is Shen Xingmian."

After thinking for a while, Old Man Lin retrieved the list of Shen family members from the depths of his memory, and sure enough, there was such a junior.

However, he remembered that the child couldn't even speak, so how could he now cure Jun'er's illness...?

"Dad, let us in first. Standing for so long is tiring."

Lin Miao's personality became more apparent after returning to her father's side, and it was even somewhat endearing.

"Oh right, come in quickly!"

Mr. Lin quickly made way, then turned and shouted at the two people inside, "Your aunt is back! Why aren't you going to tell her?"

The two boys, who had been staring blankly at Shen Xingmian, were startled awake by the shout and nodded like rabbits before running away quickly.

Lin's father, angered, glared at their retreating figures with disdain.

"Father, don't keep them busy. We came back this time so that Mianmian can check your health, and then we will be heading to the Northern Border."

Mr. Lin was startled and immediately asked, "Can Jun'er's body withstand the journey? Why don't you leave the child with me and I'll raise him for you until you return?"

Lin Miao smiled helplessly: "Father, the reason we made this decision is because Jun'er's health has completely recovered, so please don't worry about it."

"By the way, let me first show you the amazing features of our Mianmian, and you'll understand."

After saying that, she smiled and gestured to Shen Xingmian that she could begin her performance.

Shen Xingmian stepped forward, placed her fingers on Lin's father's wrist, and quickly channeled her supernatural power into him. After a short while, Lin's father felt a significant change.

The fatigue that had accumulated in his body seemed to have been swept away completely, leaving only a warm and comfortable feeling.

It's like having a long, wonderful sleep without a single dream.

The situation had an inexplicable eeriness to it. If it weren't for the fact that his daughter had brought the person back, Mr. Lin would definitely be suspicious.

After seeing his grandson's healthy and lively appearance, he couldn't help but believe it.

No matter what secrets this amazing little girl might have, he didn't intend to ask any further questions. As someone who had benefited from the situation, it was basic courtesy not to pry into other people's privacy.

Having lived to this age, Mr. Lin has a very open-minded view of everything in the world. Although he often scolds his two grandsons, it's mainly because they are too stupid.

He wouldn't even bother to inquire about things he shouldn't know.

Of course, he didn't forget the promise he had just made. His Lin family had plenty of money, and he couldn't take it with him to his grave anyway, so he might as well use it to properly thank the little miracle doctor for his great kindness to his family.

Lin's father didn't mince words. He led the four of them directly to his small storeroom, took out his key, opened the door, and pointed to the contents inside, saying to Shen Xingmian with great pride:

"Young lady, this old man has no other worries in his life but my little grandson. If you can cure him, it will be an immense favor to our entire Lin family."

"Take whatever you like from this storeroom. You can even take it all; it's my personal treasury. Don't feel obligated; just take whatever you want."

Having guarded such a large space, Shen Xingmian had long lost much desire for worldly treasures. At this moment, looking at the room full of glittering splendor, he didn't have much interest.

However, if she doesn't take anything, the old man will probably find it hard to feel at ease.

So she stepped inside, casually picked out a pretty pearl, held it in her hand, and said with a smile, "This one will do, I quite like it."

Mr. Lin said happily, "You have a good eye. I also really like this pearl. Go inside and take a look. I've collected quite a few treasures in my life."

It seems the old man wasn't just being polite; he genuinely wanted to give her some treasures.

So Shen Xingmian stopped being polite, walked around, picked out a few things that she liked, and hugged them to her chest.

She decided to store these items separately, and add more when Jun'er grows up and gets married in the future, as a wedding gift for him.

However, she didn't say these words to the old man. Instead, after leaving, she took out a box from her spatial storage, put them all in it, and then told her second uncle and aunt about her idea.

At that moment, having taken these things, she no longer wanted anything else.

Although the Lin family is wealthy, she herself is not short of money, so there is no need for her to appear greedy for money.

Besides, she already possesses far too many material possessions...

After they went outside, they had lunch with the Lin family and got to know each other.

After just one meal, I only managed to get to know some of the faces, but because there were so many people, I couldn't remember who was who at all.

But it doesn't matter. If we continue to develop in the North, we'll probably see our relatives in the South much less.

However, Shen Xingmian still left them some fruits and vegetables. Their medicinal effects were certainly not as good as the supernatural water, but they were more than enough for daily health maintenance.

The next morning, they bid farewell to the Lin family and embarked on their journey home.

Although she had only been away for a little over half a month, Shen Xingmian was already starting to miss home. She wondered how her family was doing after all this time.

Spring plowing has probably already begun. I wonder if the people have obediently planted corn, sweet potatoes, and potatoes.

If they plant it, the people of the North will never have to worry about not having enough to eat for the next year.

On the way back, since Jun'er hadn't seen much of the outside world, they rode in a carriage, stopping and going along the way. They would go into towns to explore and play whenever they came across them, and then return to the space at night to rest with everyone.

My second uncle and aunt have already met the workers they bought from the space, chatted with them quite a bit, and even helped with the harvest.

Although my second uncle was in business, he had been exposed to martial arts since childhood and knew some skills. He was physically strong and had great strength, so he quickly became quite adept at farm work.

Jun'er ran around happily in the vegetable garden and orchard, picking strawberries and grapes, having a wonderful time.

However, the little guy is very sensible, only picking what he wants to eat and never wasting anything, which Shen Xingmian likes very much.

Looking at her son's cheerful and playful appearance, Lin Miao felt incredibly grateful to Shen Xingmian.

Not to mention the little bit of stuff in her father's private stash, she practically wanted to give all of her own little savings to Shen Xingmian.

However, based on her understanding of Mianmian, she probably wouldn't accept it if she gave it to her now. She could only wait until Mianmian got married in the future and use her savings as part of her dowry.
