Chapter 11 Selling Water Resources

Apart from registered residents living within the base, everyone else, including people from shantytowns, must pay a two-point entry fee to enter the base.

This is a huge expense for the residents of the shantytown who are already struggling to make ends meet.

Fang Qingdai originally did not plan to enter the base in the short term. She planned to find customers in the shantytown area and accumulate some assets first.

However, Qingluan suddenly fell ill, forcing Fang Qingdai to change her plans and go to the base to find a solution.

For a cold and fever, all you need is a Class C medicine.

But even a C-grade potion requires 100 points!

One hundred points is almost equivalent to a month's income for a superhuman!

The shack area is clearly not suitable for earning 100 points in a short period of time.

The people in the shantytown are all poor, and only a few small factions like Zhang Chengjie can afford to spend some points.

However, Fang Qingdai had just settled down in Zhang Chengjie's territory with Qingluan and had also made enemies with Kun Ge, the second most powerful figure. It was not a good time for her to act ostentatiously.

It's better to go directly to the base. Superhumans have more points on hand and can raise enough money for the potions faster!

After undergoing registration and questioning, and paying an entry fee of two points, Fang Qingdai successfully entered the base.

Following the original owner's memories, Fang Qingdai quickly arrived at the market area within the base.

The market area is a trading place organized by residents themselves, similar to a vegetable market, with small stalls set up on the ground, offering a wide variety of goods.

However, the quality of the items was generally poor; they were mostly things that the base wouldn't accept.

Fang Qingdai covered her face completely and stood in the corner, observing silently.

After observing for a long time, I finally identified the person I was looking for on this trip.

A nimble fat man kept wandering around the market, asking prices on the east side and trying to attract people on the west side.

Those who had spoken with him were taken to a corner of the market, and after a short while, those who followed the chubby boy out came out with smiles on their faces.

The chubby guy is probably the middleman who connects people, and he must have a lot of customers.

Fang Qingdai's undisguised gaze finally caught the little fat boy's attention. He looked over at Fang Qingdai, and after noticing the two jars in her arms, he greeted her with a smile.

Fang Qingdai quickly made a gesture to stop her.

Pointing to the secluded corner where the chubby boy had led his men, Fang Qingdai was the first to sneak over there.

The place the chubby guy brought his people to was an alley between two buildings.

The alley was dimly lit and narrow; although the environment was poor, it was certainly secluded enough.

What I'm most satisfied with is that the other end of the alley is also open, so if there's an emergency, there are two entrances that allow sellers to evacuate quickly, making the safety relatively guaranteed!

Fang Qingdai nodded in satisfaction and turned to look at the chubby boy who had followed her.

"This customer, are you buying or selling?" Upon closer inspection, the chubby boy appeared to be quite young, around sixteen or seventeen years old. His smile was very endearing, no wonder he could make a living this way.

Fang Qingdai, her voice low and stern, said, "I have a batch of water resources..."

Before the words were even finished, the little fat boy's eyes widened in surprise!

Water sources are scarce resources in the wasteland!

Under the chubby boy's expectant gaze, Fang Qingdai handed over the jar in her hand.

The already yellowish-black water appeared even darker in the poorly lit alley.

According to Fang Qingdai, it looked almost identical to sewage from the sewers, and its appearance was extremely unappealing.

But even with such a water source, the chubby boy was overjoyed.

"Guest, I need to test the water quality!"

Fang Qingdai nodded, just about to find a container to divide some of it into portions for the little fat boy to take for testing.

Unexpectedly, the chubby boy pulled something resembling a thermometer from his pocket and inserted it into the water.

Fang Qingdai raised her eyebrows, flipped through her memories, and remembered the identity of this thing.

"You... you're quite well-equipped, aren't you? You even carry the detection device with you."

The chubby boy replied with a smile, "That's what we do!"

As he spoke, the instrument in the chubby boy's hand lit up.

He stared intently, his expression freezing for a moment.

Fang Qingdai's heart skipped a beat, and she secretly wondered if there was something wrong with the stream in the space.

To everyone's surprise, the chubby boy scratched his head, looking puzzled: "Is there something wrong with the instrument? This water looks like it's only grade C, so why is the quality measured as grade B?"

Fang Qingdai felt a slight sense of relief upon hearing this.

Thank goodness, it's only a B grade.

The concern is that the added mud and grime may contain too few harmful substances to pollute the water source.

If the test results still show it as Grade A, then Fang Qingdai wouldn't dare to sell it casually!

“If it’s not a good thing, there’s no need to be so careful.” Fang Qingdai pointed meaningfully to the alley, her eyes full of implications.

The chubby boy rolled his eyes and revealed a sly smile that said, "I understand, I understand."

Fang Qingdai chuckled inwardly.

Those who work as "fat boys" have probably seen quite a few cases of misuse of public resources and embezzlement of public property.

He knew that everyone had their own channels, but he was just a middleman who only cared about making money.

He was eager to get more of this high-quality goods so he could make more profit, so naturally he wouldn't ask any questions.

Seeing that the chubby boy had almost figured it out in his mind, Fang Qingdai coughed lightly and said, "Give me a price. I still have some goods at home. If the price is right, I'll sell them all to you!"

Upon hearing this, the chubby man's eyes lit up. After considering for a moment, he said, "Sir, although the quality of your water source is grade B, its appearance is only grade C. It's impossible to sell it as grade B!"

"And since you've come to me, it must be because these matters are not something you can openly address..."

Fang Qingdai waved her hand to interrupt the chubby boy's bargaining, and said to herself, "10 points per level, take it if you think it's right!"

A Grade C water source costs 5 points, a Grade B water source costs 12 points, and a Grade A water source costs 20 points!

"That's impossible! Our buyback price for a normal Grade B water source is only 10 points. Your water looks terrible, how can it be valued as a normal Grade B water source!"

The chubby boy waved his hands repeatedly, smiling obsequiously, "Sister! I really want to do this business with you, but we need to seriously discuss the price!"

Fang Qingdai's exposed eyes, figure, and voice all revealed her gender, but her age was not so clear.

The chubby boy figured that Fang Qingdai must be quite powerful to have such a valuable source of goods, and she couldn't possibly be younger than him, so calling her "sister" sweetly wouldn't be a mistake.

Little did he know that his affected and pretentious way of addressing his sister was eight parts the same as Fang Qingdai's resentful younger brother in modern times!

Whenever that kid didn't have enough pocket money, or got into some trouble, he would fawn over Fang Qingdai like a puppy, which made Fang Qingdai's scalp tingle!

Fang Qingdai, who had originally wanted to negotiate the price, immediately gritted her teeth: "10 points per level, take it or leave it!"

Seeing that the chubby boy still wanted to pester her, Fang Qingdai simply picked up the jar, turned around, and left!

"Hey hey hey! Sis! Dear sister! No, no, no, 9 points! I'll take it for 9 points, okay?"

"Deal!" Fang Qingdai, who was walking quickly out of the alley, suddenly stopped, startling the chubby boy chasing behind her so much that he almost lost his footing!

The chubby boy looked at Fang Qingdai, who was smiling, and inwardly cried out in regret: Oh no, I drove too high!
