It was late at night and everyone was asleep. Dark clouds passed through the crescent moon, and moonlight dotted the school, driving away much of the darkness. However, some hidden corners were still filled with unknown darkness.
Following a few kids, we left the complex building and walked towards the back of the school. It was a barren grassland with a lot of garbage melted into the soil scattered there.
An iron net surrounded the place, but after countless days and months of wind and rain, the iron net had long been corroded and rusted beyond recognition. Many rotten cloth strips were also hung on some sharp iron hooks.
Ah Tu and the other little ghosts seemed to be familiar with the place. They ran to the corner of the iron net, where a hole was pried open, and drilled out directly.
Qin Nuo followed behind him, crawled over and got out.
"This is called a dog hole. We used to hide here when we skipped classes. Do you remember?" Ah Tu looked at Mo Ting and smiled innocently.
"There's no need to give it such a name." Qin Nuo came out, brushed off the dust on his body, and said.
I looked around and saw a small hill behind the iron net. A bamboo forest surrounded the foot of the hill. As the night wind blew, the rustling sound was endless.
Mo Ting blinked, but still asked in confusion, "Where are we going next?"
"Just keep up."
Ah Tu and the others ran towards the bamboo forest. Qin Nuo followed closely, passing through the dense bamboo forest. He looked to the distance and vaguely saw a silhouette.
When I shone the flashlight there, I saw a very simple iron house covered with thatch, and there were also chopped bamboos around it to strengthen the foundation of the house.
Qin Nuo was stunned, and Mo Ting looked the same. She asked, "Who owns this house?"
At this moment, Ah Tu and the others started to clear the weeds at the door. Ah Gai said with a smile, "The security guard who used to guard the back door had no children, so he built a tin house here. After he left, this place became deserted."
"We occupied this place. During that time, the school broke up our guild, so we hid all our performance props here. We gathered here at night, then sneaked into the school through the iron fence at the back door and performed on the stage!"
Ah Gai explained with a big smile on his face, as if that period was the happiest time for them.
Qin Nuo looked at Mo Ting and asked, "Do you have any impression?"
"It seems a little." Mo Ting looked uncertain, as if she remembered something, but it was very vague.
"Don't be in a hurry. There will be many things worth remembering after you go in." Ah Gai said.
Over there, after getting rid of the tall people, Ah Tu walked to the door, picked up a stone, and smashed the completely corroded lock.
Crunch!
The iron gate opened, and a dull heat wave rolled out of the house. It was pitch black inside. Ah Tu and the others walked in one by one without any hindrance.
Soon, a candlelight was lit inside, forcing back the darkness in the room.
Ah Tu found an oil lamp from somewhere, put it aside, and said in surprise, "This oil lamp has been there for so long, and it's still usable?"
Qin Nuo also came in. Although the air in the room had circulated a lot, he still felt a little suffocated and uncomfortable.
The space in the house is not big, even a little cramped.
The surrounding items were in a mess and covered with dust. In some corners, he saw several quilts and pillows spread out.
There were many bottles and cans lying on an iron bed, with rats crawling inside. When the flashlight was shone on them, the rats and cockroaches fled without a trace.
Qin Nuo stepped on something and looked down. It was a rag doll in a dress. She reached out and picked it up. It was tattered and had some blood stains on it.
"This is the rag doll my grandpa gave me. I searched for it for ages but couldn't find it. How did it appear now?"
Tang Rou came over and took the doll, with a look of surprise on her face.
She ignored the dirt and blood stains on the doll, rubbed it against her face, and loved it very much.
Dafu and the others were also searching around, but the scary and eerie atmosphere inside the house did not affect their happy mood.
In the corner, Ah Gai pulled out a moldy quilt with the cotton torn out, and said to Ah Tu with a smile: "Ah Tu, do you still remember when you and I squeezed on this sheet and you wet the bed at night? Look! The mark is still here. I was so amused at that time. You were a teenager, and you still wet the bed!"
Ah Tu's face darkened, and he defended himself with shame and anger, "That's not true. I've told you a hundred times, it was a puppy from somewhere that peed there! It wasn't me!"
"Don't give me that. You secretly changed your pants in the bamboo forest. I saw it clearly. Don't lie to me!" Ah Gai threw the cup over.
Ah Tu dodged sideways and walked away with a dark face.
"Qin Feng, look at this! The kettle you left behind is still here. That guy Yanan accidentally broke the bottle!"
Dafu dug out a kettle that looked very old. The color on it had faded and there were a few photo stickers stuck on it.
"I remember that I was sad for a while at that time." Qin Nuo said calmly, with a nostalgic expression.
"That's not the case. You said at that time that this was the most precious thing in your family!" Da Fu said with a smile, putting his hands in his pockets.
They said they came to help Mo Ting recover her memory, but it seemed more like they came back for some nostalgic fun, searching the house for nostalgic items.
Mo Ting stood there, her eyes moving on every object around her, and the confused expression on her face seemed to have faded a lot.
Qin Nuo walked over and asked.
Mo Ting glanced at Qin Nuo, neither nodding nor shaking her head.
Qin Nuo was a little confused. What did this mean?
