Qin Nuo stood behind his father, looking at him expressionlessly. The knife in his hand gleamed with cold light, reflecting the squatting figure in the darkness.
"father?"
Qin Nuo shouted and raised the kitchen knife in his hand, but his father suddenly turned around, and the blood on his horrified face became more and more obvious.
He looked at Qin Nuo, ignoring the kitchen knife raised to his face, and asked hoarsely, "What are you doing?"
"I want to say that you can't open that watermelon, let me help you." Qin Nuo stared at the green watermelon in his father's hand and spoke calmly.
After he finished speaking, without waiting for him to speak, Qin Nuo suddenly chopped down the kitchen knife in his hand, cutting the watermelon in half, and the bright red watermelon flesh and juice splashed everywhere.
My father looked at the cracked watermelon in his hand, said thank you, and started eating it.
"The kitchen is such a mess, aren't you going to clean it up?"
Qin Nuo frowned slightly.
"You clean it up, or she does it!" the father said vaguely.
Qin Nuo took a deep breath, ignored him, turned around and left the kitchen, and returned to his room.
After opening the door, Qin Nuo paused, then closed the door, walked to the desk and sat down, opened the drawer, and took out the notebook.
I flipped through the lyrics of the song I'd written down earlier, my fingers rubbing against the indentations of the characters, but my gaze lingered on a certain crease on the yellowed page...
After a moment, Qin Nuo picked up the pen and wrote a few more words on it, muttering to himself: "I can remember this song. It will be a crucial weapon."
After a moment, Qin Nuo closed his notebook, put it back in the drawer, and stretched.
The white mist turned yellow and gradually became gray.
Night has fallen.
Qin Nuo sat alone in the room, holding the piece of mirror fragment in his hand. Through the limited vision in the mirror, he saw another appearance in the room.
The mirror reflected the two photo frames on the wall. Qin Nuo fell silent, his eyes flickering.
…
At the same time, on the other side of Quande Town.
The two players hid themselves behind the wall. The cold air could only be relieved by the cigarettes in their hands. They stared at the house in front of them and stepped on countless cigarette butts.
"Are you sure it's in there?" Wang Long asked, looking back at the shadow sitting in the alley.
"I've always known its whereabouts, but I just can't catch it. Its behavior these past few days has been very strange. It must be preparing something." Shadow's tone was flat, but very certain.
Wang Long and the other player exchanged a glance, said nothing more, and turned back to continue looking into the house over there.
Then, both of them raised their eyebrows: "Something's happening!"
In the dim light, the house opened.
A figure walked out, and several people hid in the dark, closely monitoring the former's every move.
The figure suddenly stopped, raised its head, and its strange blood-red eyes, like those of the red spider lily, tilted slightly to look towards the shadow.
"It seems to know we are here?" Wang Long frowned slightly.
The shadow didn't say anything. Suddenly, the corners of his mouth curled up, revealing an obviously sarcastic smile. Then, he turned and rushed into the white fog in one direction.
"Chase!" Shadow said nothing and quickly chased after them with the two of them.
…
After an unknown amount of time, the long sound of the pendulum clock rang, bringing Qin Nuo back to his senses.
Qin Nuo put away the mirror fragments, and the pendulum clock rang exactly twelve times.
"Time is up."
Pushing open the door, Qin Nuo walked towards his mother's house.
In the room, my mother was leaning against the bed. Her hair had almost all turned silver and fallen out. Her face was pale and thin. Her chest rose and fell violently with every breath.
It's hard to imagine that she became like this in just two days.
Qin Nuo sat down beside the bed and felt that his mother's breathing was weaker and more difficult than during the day. He whispered, "Mom, how do you feel?"
"I... want to drink some water." Mother said hoarsely.
Qin Nuo quickly went to the side and drank a sip of water.
The mother drank it. Although her face still looked terrible, there was a faint smile on the corner of her mouth.
Qin Nuo looked at her and wanted to say something, but his mother grabbed his hand, took a few deep breaths, and asked, "Did you hear the bell?"
"Yes, it's exactly twelve o'clock." Qin Nuo nodded.
The mother held Qin Nuo's hand tightly and said, "You must remember what I say next..."
"Just what you said." Qin Nuo looked serious. These were the words he was waiting for.
When the mother was about to speak, the door suddenly shook and was blown open by the cold wind.
The heat in the room was instantly turned off. Qin Nuo covered his mother with another layer of quilt, then got up and closed the door.
"There seems to be some movement outside the house." The blood-eyed ghost suddenly spoke when closing the door.
Qin Nuo raised an eyebrow: "What's going on?"
When he turned around, he suddenly noticed that the wall on one side was suddenly moving and the yellow mud was falling off.
A figure suddenly appeared.
A pair of strange and enchanting eyes of the red spider lily ignored everything around it and fell directly on the mother who was breathing weakly on the bed.
"Yin Tong!"
Qin Nuo was just stunned for a moment, quickly covered the corpse spots with his right hand, and opened one bloodshot eye.
In a very short time, the figure had broken away from the wall and rushed towards the mother.
A ghostly hand shrouded in black air penetrated the air and in an instant, it grabbed the figure's neck at an even faster speed and pressed him hard against the wall.
Qin Nuo stared at the Yin child in front of him. Its whole body was covered with white light, except for its pair of eyes which were blood-red like red spider lilies.
"You want to kill her?"
