Dusk fades and night falls.
Qin Nuo finished enjoying the dinner on the table. Although it was still sticky and made of something unknown, as long as he could fill his stomach, he didn't care what it was.
A bell rang in the cafeteria. It was seven o'clock. The cafeteria was empty. Even the few ghosts disappeared quickly. For many sneaky people, the hospital at night was both a paradise and a nightmare.
After dinner, Qin Nuo went directly to the rooftop as agreed.
The night enveloped the entire hospital, the night wind was bleak and the cold was biting.
He took out a cigarette from his pocket. It was taken from the patient's pocket when he was treating him. Although it was wrinkled, it was a good brand and had a lotus flower pattern on it.
The spark ignited and burned the tobacco quickly. Qin Nuo exhaled a puff of smoke and did not see Chen Fan around.
"Meeting on the rooftop always feels like something out of a movie or TV series, and the results are never good. I hope my concerns are just an illusion." Qin Nuo flicked the ash from his cigarette and muttered.
A moment later, Chen Fan appeared. He looked very busy today. He was sweating profusely, his hair was greasy, and his white coat was stained with all kinds of filth, which he had not changed.
"Today's surgeries were all very difficult, but fortunately, they all went smoothly."
Chen Fan spoke, and although he was tired, he couldn't help but take out a cigarette. This was the only way to relax quickly.
Every operation has a huge impact on the doctor's day. If it goes well, it will naturally bring joy to the body and mind. But if you open the ward and push out a cold corpse, the doctor's mood for the rest of the day will become inexplicably heavy.
"Same, the three operations I performed today were all successful. I think this is the charm of this profession. There is nothing more joyful than saving a life."
Qin Nuo smiled slightly and said, "This is why I have dreamed of becoming a doctor since I was a child."
"For patients who have fallen into the abyss of despair, only we doctors dare to snatch the fight against death. There are thousands of professions, but I believe that only doctors are the lone heroes!"
Qin Nuo flicked the cigarette out of his hand, extinguished it with the sole of his shoe, and smiled at Chen Fan.
Chen Fan didn't smile at all, and said calmly, "As a doctor, you are indeed a good doctor."
"But as a man, you suck."
Qin Nuo was silent for a moment, his expression becoming serious. He then asked, "Doctor Chen, do you think divorce means abandonment?"
"Are the rumors you heard necessarily true?"
Looking at Qin Nuo's eyes, Chen Fan's expression changed slightly, but he continued to maintain an indifferent tone: "You are not even willing to face these ugly things. You keep making excuses for yourself and trying to convince others, including yourself."
"Will these excuses make you feel at ease? Perhaps, but once you've done something, you can't erase it, and you can't escape it."
"You are not worthy of Dr. Bai."
"Or should I be more direct? It's not that you are not worthy of her, you are defiling her!" Chen Fan held a cigarette, and the ash fell to the ground with the night wind, sparks flying.
Qin Nuo shook his head: "I have no interest in Doctor Bai."
"She came to my room only to talk about work."
Chen Fan snorted coldly: "It's not the same department, how do your work overlap?"
Qin Nuo frowned, his expression helpless: "I'm really in a mess, I can't explain it!"
"I did talk to her about something else, but I can't tell her. I promised her!"
When Chen Fan listened to Qin Nuo's words, a fire inexplicably rose in his heart.
He thought Qin Nuo would have some convincing explanation, but even after talking for so long, the other party was still making vague excuses for himself!
Don't people like this feel any guilt at all?
Looking at the changes in Chen Fan's face, his eyes became colder.
Around him, faint black arcs of electricity appeared again, moving in the dark air!
Qin Nuo looked at this scene and knew that he could not waste any more time talking and had to speed up the pace.
His face was heavy, and he gritted his teeth and said, "Okay, if you want to explain, then I'll just confess."
"It's so frustrating for me to be the scapegoat!"
"What do you want to say?" Chen Fan narrowed his eyes slightly.
"Dr. Bai came to me because she wanted to knit a scarf for you, but she didn't know what color you liked, so she came to ask me."
"She has a crush on you, and you have a crush on her too. Why don't you just be honest with each other? Why do you want me to be the scapegoat?"
Qin Nuo spread his hands, his face full of helplessness.
Chen Fan's expression was still skeptical: "How do you prove that what you said is true?"
"She'll be here soon. You can ask her face to face and find out."
"Why not even take this opportunity tonight to confess your feelings?"
Qin Nuo apologized to Luo Xun as he spoke.
I'm sorry.
If I don't get rid of this blame, I will be the first to be in trouble, and I can only let her suffer!
After hearing Qin Nuo's words, Chen Fan suddenly fell silent. Although he still had doubts, he couldn't help but let his mind wander.
"Doctor Bai likes me too... Does she really like me?"
He was a little bit unbelieving. After all, he had been secretly in love with her all along. He just wanted to see her happy and had never thought of mustering up the courage to confess his feelings.
I couldn't even make friends because I was afraid of being rejected.
But now, he couldn't quite believe his ears...
"What you said is true, you are not trying to fool me?"
Qin Nuo glanced at the time: "Doctor Bai will be here soon, you can explain it to him in person."
"Only she can clear my name."
As soon as he finished speaking, there was a sound from the stainless steel door and then it was opened.
Luo Xun came out. She had changed out of her white coat. The air was cold at night, so she put on an autumn coat. "Why did you ask me to come up here?"
