"Father?"
Qin Nuo pretended to change his expression, but he was hesitant inside. Then he said with doubt: "You said that father would come back, but now I still haven't seen him."
"Almost..." This was the only answer from his mother, and Qin Nuo's ears were almost callused from hearing it.
Qin Nuo didn't plan to ask anything. After breakfast, he pulled his rickshaw and went out to work as usual.
In the next few days, the white fog in Quande Town seemed to never dissipate, and even became thicker. The narrow alleys and quiet streets made the entire town seem abandoned and deserted.
Qin Nuo was pulling a rickshaw and just came out of the alley when he ran into a figure trying to stop him. But at the same time, as expected, the copy mission popped up in his mind.
"Ding! Congratulations to the player for triggering the dungeon quest. Many guests seem to have appeared out of nowhere in the mansion. They come from nowhere, appearing and disappearing, yet always appearing in every corner."
"Please go to the Li family compound and solve Li Ya's dilemma!"
"Li Ya?" Qin Nuo's expression changed slightly, with a hint of doubt in his heart.
The woman who stopped the rickshaw looked at Qin Nuo who ignored her, with a cold expression on her face, and said hoarsely: "Do you know where I'm going?"
Qin Nuo came back to his senses and said, "Oh, it's time to call it a day. I won't be pulling the cart today. You can find the next one."
As he said that, Qin Nuo pulled the rickshaw and disappeared into the fog in a blink of an eye.
The woman looked at the figure disappearing in the white mist. She was stunned at first, and then terrifying black meridians emerged on her pale face.
"Xiu'er, you stop work right after you start it. You're playing tricks on others like this. Aren't you afraid that I'll tear you apart?" said the blood-eyed ghost.
Qin Nuo smiled slightly: "Brother Xue is the one who keeps the peace. If I get scared, wouldn't that just be a slap in your face?"
"What you said... seems to make some sense, but why do I always feel like I've become your thug?" The Blood-Eyed Ghost pondered.
Qin Nuo thought to himself, what else can I do? If I don’t have a good brain, then I can use my supernatural powers. If I’m not a thug, what else can I do?
But he said, "We are all family. It would be inappropriate to say whether to fight or not."
The blood-eyed ghost rolled his eyes and didn't say anything, knowing that Qin Nuo was only good at smooth talk.
Logically speaking, leaving the rickshaw and running directly would allow him to reach the Li family compound faster, but Qin Nuo was reluctant to leave the rickshaw behind. Losing his food would not affect him much, but it would be a different story for his mother at home...
Soon, Qin Nuo arrived at the Li family mansion. There was no one in front of the gate. The gate was open and thick white fog filled the air. The atmosphere of ghost stories in the Republican mansion was exaggerated to the extreme.
Qin Nuo put down the rickshaw, leaned against a locked stone pillar, looked around, put on a knitted hat on his head, put his hands in his pockets, and walked straight into the house.
In the courtyard, many high-quality plants are withering, and the dead leaves are scattered by the cold wind and blown across the courtyard.
Qin Nuo's soles made a crunching sound as he stepped on the dead leaves. The atmosphere in the house was completely different from the previous few days.
"The townspeople are all transforming into ghosts. Eventually, they become ghosts. I wonder what will happen to Liya?"
There is also a matching partner of his in the Li family mansion, and I don’t know what the situation is like?
Qin Nuo was suspicious and opened the game panel. One of the status bars on it showed normal and he was still staying in the house.
“Hasn’t been eliminated yet…”
Qin Nuo put away the panel, shouted if anyone was there, and then pushed open the door of one of the rooms.
Many things inside the door were knocked over.
Porcelain fragments were scattered everywhere. Over there, two people were sitting with their heads down.
Qin Nuo walked over and didn't say anything. Instead, he used his fingers to lift a corner of his clothes, because these two people were already dead.
In addition to the obvious signs of ghostification on his face, his chest seemed to have been corroded by some liquid, with flesh and blood festering and emitting wisps of white smoke. The signs of corrosion spread to his back, with blood and rotten flesh falling to the floor.
"He has turned into a ghost, but he was still killed." Qin Nuo thought of the white shadows last night.
Suddenly hearing a sound in his ears, Qin Nuo put down his hand that was groping on the corpse and walked towards the door.
I saw an old man with disheveled hair sitting alone in the yard. He looked crazy and was muttering something in a foolish manner.
"That monster doesn't eat humans; he enjoys killing. He comes from hell. Every drop of his sweat and every mouthful of his saliva is more poisonous than the poison on the crematorium. Our Li family is finished, Quande Town is finished, everything is finished!"
Qin Nuo walked over and asked calmly, "Old man, do you need help?"
As soon as he finished asking, his expression changed slightly.
Because there were several corpses lying in the corridor behind the old man, their bodies showing varying degrees of decay, some so horrific that one could not even look directly at them.
The crazy old man looked at Qin Nuo, then suddenly grabbed the latter's trousers and said, "We can't leave the town, and there are more and more monsters. Where is our way out?"
Qin Nuo thought of his mother's words, hesitated, and tried to answer: "Fight to the end, for the town, for the people around me."
The crazy old man looked at Qin Nuo with trembling eyes, his hands tightly clasped. After a long pause, he said, "But it seems that those who fought and resisted are all dead."
"Those monsters are so scary this time."
"What does this time mean? Has it happened before?" Qin Nuo looked puzzled.
There were crisp footsteps in the corridor. Qin Nuo turned his head and saw a girl coming. It was Li Ya.
Qin Nuo stood up when he saw her. Just as he was about to say hello, Li Ya grabbed the crazy old man's clothes with one hand and said lightly, "Grandpa, it's time for you to go to bed."
