"I haven't heard of it."
Li Xingliang felt as if he had hit his head against a wall, his expression becoming incredibly awkward. The atmosphere at the scene froze for a moment.
Fortunately, He Ling reacted quickly and came out to smooth things over, saying, "Xingliang, why don't you take this opportunity to let Xiangxiao listen to your song."
"oh oh!"
Li Xingliang immediately took out his mobile phone, opened the music app, and skillfully played his own song, saying:
"I'm so nervous. I feel even more nervous than when I was competing for the rankings."
He Ling laughed: "Is it really that exaggerated?"
"Really, it takes a lot of courage to tell this to a senior."
Wang Feng asked, "Xingliang, where did your album rank on the charts?"
"First," he said without looking up.
The barrage exploded again, and the boys and girls in the boy band cheered wildly.
However, everyone present was an old hand in the entertainment industry and they all knew the truth.
Today’s music charts are different from before; it’s all about who’s richer.
That list has long become a plaything of various capitals, and no one will listen to the music ranked at the top of the list.
Only fan clubs take those rankings seriously.
He Ling put the Bluetooth speaker on the table and said:
"Xingliang, connect the Kuqi Bluetooth speaker. For good sound quality, use Kuqi."
Li Xingliang turned on his own music and put his phone on the table.
The squeaking electronic music floated out from the speakers like a saw cutting bones.
Xu Xiangxiao frowned.
It started with a boy band chorus, followed by a variety of noisy sounds, and after a period of ambiguous rap, Li Xingliang became excited and pointed at the speakers and said:
"Listen, listen! High energy ahead! Here's my guitar solo and singing!"
The music suddenly quieted down, the sound of guitar rang out, the style of music changed, and then Li Xingliang started singing and playing electronic music.
Xu Xiangxiao listened to the whole thing with a frown on her face. After the music ended, she breathed a sigh of relief.
After the music finished, Li Xingliang looked up and asked, "How was it?"
Everyone applauded.
"fine."
"The king of Chinese music!" Qin Yunshang shouted exaggeratedly.
The barrage of comments exploded, roaring in unison on the screen:
"The East is rising! China is shining!"
Li Xingliang asked eagerly, "Senior, how is it?"
Xu Xiangxiao sighed, rubbed his forehead and said, "The arrangement is pretty good, very much like a Korean boy band. The rap could use a little more rhythm, but that's not a big problem."
As Li Xingliang listened, he felt something was wrong.
Xu Xiangxiao slid the screen of her phone, moved the progress bar, and said:
"This part of the singing and playing is actually quite good, but I feel like the emotions here aren't quite there. What's the reason?"
Li Xingliang looked embarrassed: "Huh?"
Xu Xiangxiao took down the guitar hanging on the wall, strummed the strings, tuned it directly (because she had absolute pitch), and then said:
"That's the part, right? The solo is pretty good, simple and not fancy."
She directly popped up that paragraph, and the barrage instantly floated 666:
"This definitely wasn't her first time hearing it, was it? How could she play it after just two listens?"
"The one in front, you must be very young, right? Don't you know that Xu Xiangxiao is a musical genius?"
"She can pick out the music sheet for you after just one listen and play it again. What's so strange about that?"
…Xu Xiangxiao played and sang, and it felt different from before. She continued:
"If you really can't learn to cultivate your emotions, I suggest you listen to Jiang Xinhai's "Bicycle." Her singing and playing of that part is simply amazing."
The words came out of her mouth before she realized that she had said the wrong thing, and she quickly pursed her lips and kept silent.
She said she was happy and forgot not to mention Jiang Xinhai.
Li Xingliang was a little unconvinced: "'Bicycle'? I've never heard of it."
Xu Xiangxiao said resolutely: "'Bicycle' is a Cantonese song about fatherly love by Xinhai and Zhichi. The song is very simple and pure, but it shows Xinhai's explosive singing power to the fullest."
After a pause, she continued, "And your part is really similar to 'Bicycle', so that's why I thought of this song."
Li Xingliang's face turned grim as he searched for "Bicycle" on his phone. He then said, "Her song didn't win any awards."
"Well, that's because she was unlucky and her opponent was a bit strong," Xu Xiangxiao said, "because that year, my album 'Chopin in November' was released."
Li Xingliang listened with his mouth wide open. He had been a trainee in South Korea when he was a child, and he had never heard of the album that Xu Xiangxiao mentioned.
He clicked on "Bicycle" in the music app, and after a while, a quiet, gentle, and slightly sad guitar sound floated out from the Bluetooth speaker.
After a simple melody, Jiang Xinhai's unique and slightly deep voice sounded:
“Don’t assume I know
Everything is done for me
Why is it so great?
I can’t feel it so…”
Her voice was low and gentle, as if she was telling a story.
She didn't tell a story, but her voice seemed full of it.
When singing the chorus, the drum beats sounded, and the explosive power in Jiang Xinhai's voice was suddenly revealed.
"It's hard to leave, I want to hold you tighter
Life is like a wilderness
Like a child lying on his father's shoulders
Who wants to get off?"
...He Ling and others listened to the song very quietly.
Unlike the songs they had just listened to by Li Xingliang, they felt very comfortable.
Jiang Xinhai's voice seemed to have a natural sadness.
All in all, they were both heartbroken and healed by what they heard.
