Chapter 28 I Don’t Have Any Money

"Oh, writer, what have you written?"

"The problem now isn't my work, but yours." Chen Ya grabbed her hand and retrieved the crumpled suicide note. "My assessment is that there's still room for redemption. How about learning writing from me?"

Liu Ruyan didn't want to pay attention to him.

She really wanted to ask him, what right do you have to speak in my life?

But because he felt that he could not win the argument, he turned his head and looked at the lake angrily.

Chen Ya said: "No one has ever tried to understand you, right?"

Liu Ruyan suddenly turned her head and looked at him in surprise.

"I can see that even in your suicide note, you were deliberately suppressing yourself and not revealing your true thoughts," Chen Ya said, "because you were worried that no one would understand what you said, right?"

Liu Ruyan didn't say anything.

Even though what he said touched her heart.

"You're not liking Japanese food, a trivial matter, and you've put it in your suicide note. How afraid are you of your parents?" Chen Ya commented. "If I'm not mistaken, you're having Japanese food for dinner tonight, right?"

All correct.

It was so accurate that even Liu Ruyan felt a little unwilling to accept it.

“Kaiseki,” she said, “is made by a chef specially invited from Japan.”

"I'm sorry you're not full." Chen Ya said.

Liu Ruyan wrinkled her nose. "What's it to you?"

"Just tell me if you're full or not?"

Liu Ruyan snorted fiercely and said, "What do you know? Water shield only grows in the purest water. It's a truly natural food."

"Ah, I get it, I get it," Chen Ya commented, as if he had witnessed it firsthand. "Water shield soup, huh? Quite interesting. It's like jelly, but very sour."

Liu Ruyan asked in surprise, "Have you eaten it?"

Chen Ya glanced at her and said, "If I'm not mistaken, the chef who cooked for you is called Zhang Quan?"

"I don't know about that."

"It should be him," Chen Ya said, "He was in Japan, and I was the one who introduced him to Kaiseki cuisine."

Liu Ruyan didn't quite believe it.

As someone was talking, his stomach started to growl.

Liu Ruyan's face suddenly turned red.

Fortunately, it was night and I couldn’t see clearly.

Chen Ya laughed: "I said I wasn't full, right?"

Liu Ruyan rubbed her stomach angrily and stood up: "Even if I'm not full, you have no right to laugh at me."

Chen Ya smiled and said, "That's not what I meant. Your parents shouldn't have kaiseki for dinner."

"Huh?"

"Kaiseki cuisine originated from tea cakes, which are snacks eaten before the tea ceremony."

Chen Ya continued, "Matcha, used in Japanese tea ceremony, can damage your stomach if you drink it on an empty stomach, so snacks are only used to fill your stomach. If you're full, you won't want to drink tea."

"Is that so?" Liu Ruyan was skeptical.

"That's it." Chen Ya crossed his legs and leaned back comfortably in his chair. "I had tea and snacks at Ichimi-an in Tokyo once, and the whole experience was great. But in China, kaiseki meals don't have anything, just eating. But when it comes to food, how can Japanese food compare to Chinese food? So it's better to eat Chinese food."

"Oh..." Liu Ruyan felt like she was about to faint from hunger.

"So, your parents are wrong." Chen Ya said, "Why don't you oppose them?"

Liu Ruyan lowered her head: "It's not like I haven't objected before..."

Chen Ya smiled, as if he had guessed what her family's environment was like. He crossed his legs and continued to read the suicide note in his hand.

"Do you feel sorry for your nanny?"

“?!” Liu Ruyan suddenly looked up.

Chen Ya scratched his head and said, "Is your nanny very good?"

Liu Ruyan lost her temper.

This person guessed everything after reading only these few lines.

"Well, she graduated from a top 985 university, knows three foreign languages, and is pretty."

Her father said that in order to provide her with a role model, he hired a very capable nanny with a high salary. It was said that she had worked as a simultaneous interpreter before.

Unfortunately, Father Liu's plan backfired.

The more she looked at the nanny, the more Liu Ruyan felt that she was a lazy person who couldn't even fold clothes.

Chen Ya was surprised: "How much is the monthly salary?"

"I don't know. I haven't asked."

"Tsk tsk, your family is really wasting the talents that the country has worked so hard to cultivate." Chen Ya shook his head.

These words were like a sharp arrow, piercing Liu Ruyan's heart.

As soon as the old tears dried up, new tears emerged from the corners of the eyes.

Chen Ya looked at the suicide note like an old scholar: "Your second favorite piece of clothing is left at home, so this one you are wearing is your favorite?"

Liu Ruyan blushed and said, "Yes, what's the matter?"

"It looks good. It would be even better if the skirt was shorter."

"Ah? Ah? Ah?" She looked down at her skirt, not understanding why someone could so blatantly comment on her clothes in front of her.

"Because I can see that you have a good leg shape, it will look better if you wear shorter clothes." The other party talked confidently.

Liu Ruyan's face turned red.

She felt more and more that this person was making fun of her.

"Give it back to me." She reached out for her suicide note.

Chen Ya quickly folded the letter and put it in his pocket.

“???!” Liu Ruyan stared at him with wide eyes.

"Give it back to you, then what?"

"What then?"

"Do you want to use it as a suicide note?" Chen Ya asked, "If you do, I'll give it to your parents for you. If you don't need it, I'll help you throw it away."

Then he stretched out his hand towards the lake and said, "Please."

Liu Ruyan stood there with her fists clenched, her face turning red and white.
