Xu Xiangxiao stood up with a smile.
Under her angry gaze, Secretary Gao calmly sorted the documents on the desk and put them into his briefcase.
"Actually, I shouldn't be telling you about this. This is something we're currently negotiating with the production team. Anyway, I'm just mentioning it out of respect for you."
His tone was respectful, but his words were arrogant.
"I shouldn't tell you" means "It has nothing to do with you."
What it means is, "So what if you know? You, Xu Xiangxiao, can't stop it."
Unfortunately, Xu Xiangxiao found that he really couldn't stop it.
Moreover, his words just now contained a strong implicit threat - this private music collection is still an illegal building.
Logically speaking, illegal buildings should be demolished.
After leisurely packing up his briefcase, Secretary Gao said:
"In fact, we have already written a plan. This private music collection and JX himself will be incorporated into our system. I believe that when the time comes, we will be able to happily reach a cooperation."
Xu Xiangxiao stared into his eyes: "You are too arrogant."
"Am I arrogant?" Secretary Gao tilted his head.
He had an interested look on his face.
It had been a long time since anyone had dared to speak to him like that.
Perhaps among all the artists in the world, only someone like Xu Xiangxiao, who has both status and personality, would dare to scold him in front of him like this.
"You can't bribe JX," Xu Xiangxiao said, "He doesn't care about your conditions at all."
"His reputation and musical talent are unprecedented and unparalleled, yet you don't care about such a person."
Secretary Gao chuckled, suddenly turned around and put the briefcase on the table.
He smoothed his hair, which was fixed into a perfect shape with styling spray, and said slowly:
"You just learned the name JX today, but do you know when we first learned this name?"
Xu Xiangxiao looked at him warily.
"Four years ago," Secretary Gao said, and repeated, "Four years ago."
Xu Xiangxiao widened her eyes.
Secretary Gao continued:
"You only know about him and what he did today, but we knew about it back then."
"At that time, we had already started to contact him and began to systematically evaluate his commercial value."
"At that time, our evaluation showed that the final domestic audience for his work was only 1.2%, and the paying rate was only 33.6%. Before coming here today, we conducted another evaluation, and his audience has increased slightly, to 2.2%, a rise of just 1%."
"So, here, the price on the letter of intent you have is based on this assessment."
Xu Xiangxiao frowned.
Secretary Gao smiled slightly and said, "Are you wondering why it's so low? Did we tamper with the evaluation?"
That’s what Xu Xiangxiao thought, but she didn’t answer.
But Secretary Gao seemed to be able to see through all her thoughts and smiled again.
"That assessment was purely for our own internal reference. We have no reason to tamper with it."
"This result is astonishing, and we are also surprised, but it is what it is, and there is nothing I can do about it. The historical error of our assessment system has never exceeded 5%."
"In fact, we've already been quite generous with his evaluation figures. His music style is very groundbreaking, and he's won many awards abroad. Even if we factor all of that in, he can only get this figure."
"That's why I'm negotiating with you this way. The amounts stated in our letter of intent are all scientifically calculated based on our evaluation system. It's not based on any personal grudges or personal preferences."
"You have to know that we are a company. We only want to make money and we only need to make money. We don't treat him as an ordinary artist. We have given him the highest bid based on his commercial value."
Xu Xiangxiao scoffed at his words.
If you rigidly use the amount of money you earn to speculate, you will always get a ridiculous answer.
jx is so respected abroad, how can it be measured by their little money?
Secretary Gao smiled, his eyes unfathomable.
"You're thinking, since JX is so popular overseas, it's impossible for it not to be popular in China, right?"
He pushed his glasses up and said, "Let me ask you a question. It's been four or five years since JX started his activities abroad. How popular is he in China?"
Xu Xiangxiao paused.
Secretary Gao asked again, "Let me ask you another question. If the "Poetic Life" program hadn't aired today, how many people would know the name JX?"
Xu Xiangxiao said: "That's because he hasn't been promoted in the country yet..."
Secretary Gao waved his finger in the air and said, "You hit the point. There's no promotion."
"I recommend a book called 'The Crowd,' a great work on communication," Secretary Gao said. "If you read it, you'll understand that the masses, when they are a collective, possess the worst shortcomings of everyone."
"He's brainless, forgetful, and gullible. After what happened today, how many viewers will actually find JX's songs to listen to? How many viewers will actually come and see this private music collection? How many viewers will remember the name JX?"
