Chen Ya turned around and glanced around the first floor of the villa.
The entire house is designed in European style, with a 7-meter high living room, which looks spacious but not empty. The living room, dining room and bar are lined up in a row, and there is no wasted space.
A maid was busy in the Chinese kitchen off to the side. The elevator door opened, and another maid emerged, clutching a pile of dishes. Outside the south-facing floor-to-ceiling windows lay the brightly lit, newly constructed buildings of the outer ring.
Chen Ya was secretly shocked in his heart. This villa was at least 2,000 square meters. To be able to afford such a large house in Beijing, Gu Yuqing's financial resources might be stronger than he imagined.
He turned around and wanted to start discussing cooperation matters with Gu Yuqing, only to find that she had disappeared. He looked around before finding Gu Yuqing in the study in the compartment.
At this moment, the woman was lying on the chaise longue in a very comfortable posture, holding the newly bought "Norwegian Wood" in her hand and reading it very seriously.
Her straight long legs with smooth lines were wrapped in delicate stockings and crossed outside the lounge chair. She was wearing a pair of high heels on her feet, and her toes were hooked on the shoes that sparkled like crystals, swaying seductively in the air.
Chen Ya asked, "Boss Gu, when do we start discussing cooperation?"
Gu Yuqing didn't answer.
"Mr. Gu?"
Gu Yuqing ignored him, as if he didn't exist at all.
When Chen Ya walked into the reading room, he noticed that Gu Yuqing was wearing two small white Bluetooth earphones on her ears.
"Mr. Gu!" Chen Ya raised his voice, "When do you plan to start talking to me?"
Gu Yuqing finally took off the headphones from her ears, a look of surprise on her face: "What did you say?"
"I asked, when do we start?"
"Oh, that," Gu Yuqing said, "My habit in life is that I never discuss business when I'm hungry, so everything will be discussed after I finish eating."
Chen Ya took a deep breath.
"Didn't you say that you don't have the habit of eating at night and you're not hungry?"
However, his answer received no response.
It turned out that she had put her headphones back on at some point.
"Yeah, so this book is about depression." Gu Yuqing said seriously as she flipped through the pages, as if she was carefully analyzing the plot of the book.
This surprised Chen Ya a little. He raised his eyebrows in surprise, then sat down next to Gu Yuqing and asked:
"How do you know it's about depression? You've only flipped through a few pages."
No response.
"The book never mentions the word depression because it's set in Japan in the 1960s, and people weren't familiar with the disease."
Still no response.
"The first part of the book only mentions Murakami's classic motif, the 'well,' and some content about the negative thinking of people with depression. Did it resonate with you? In other words, have you also suffered from depression?"
Chen Ya's voice sounded like a deserted inn on a cold rainy night, so lonely and pitiful.
"Don't pretend, you should be able to hear me." Chen Ya put his hands on the table.
Gu Yuqing stared at the book intently, turning a page from time to time.
She looked very seriously, with a serious light shining in her eyes, like a good student who was eager to learn.
“Mr. Gu, you are really big.”
After that, the room was still silent.
There wasn't even a flicker of expression on the other person's face.
Chen Ya leaned against the back of the sofa.
"I really can't hear it..."
“Gugugugu…”
Then, his stomach began to rumble.
I just gathered my strength for a while, and without even noticing, my stomach was already growling with hunger.
Chen Ya was certain that Gu Yuqing was obviously leaving him out in the cold.
Chen Ya had never dealt with Gu Yuqing before, but he had dealt with other venture capitalists before.
There is indeed no one with a weird behavior like Gu Yuqing, but that doesn’t mean there are no weird things.
If this is Gu Yuqing's negotiation style, then objectively speaking, she may be accustomed to using various methods to intimidate the other party before the negotiation begins.
Or maybe it was because she had been too proactive before, driving herself and bringing herself to her house.
Having already tasted the soft side, she now planned to make amends with a harder approach in the hope of gaining more benefits in the subsequent negotiations.
Chen Ya didn't know how she planned to attack, but he was sure that as long as he stuck to his bottom line, he would not be caught.
"Miss, your dessert is ready."
The maid brought over a variety of luxurious desserts on a dining tray. Gu Yuqing finally took off her headphones, stretched comfortably, and said with a smile, "It's finally here! I'm starving!"
Chen Ya helplessly watched her pick up a small spoon, scoop a spoonful of something from a cup of unknown dessert, put it in her mouth, then narrowed her eyes and smiled lazily like a cat basking in the sun.
"The happiest moment in life is this moment. Going to work is for this moment, isn't it?" Gu Yuqing smiled at Chen Ya.
Chen Ya's stomach rumbled at the right moment, and the smile in Gu Yuqing's eyes became even more intense.
At this moment, he quickly picked up Gu Yuqing's Bluetooth headset on the table and put it into his ears.
As he expected, there was no sound at all.
He sneered and put the Bluetooth headset back on the table.
Gu Yuqing looked at him in surprise.
This guy was much bolder than she had imagined.
"Did you hear what I just said?"
