Chapter 30: One Day’s Drifting

"I'll ask the store manager for you. There's a small bed for naps in the store, but it doesn't have air conditioning."

He ran off to make a phone call. After a while, he came back and said with regret, "The store manager said they're not hiring right now."

"Oh." Liu Ruyan stood up regretfully and prepared to leave.

"Wait a minute," the clerk said, "my uncle owns a grocery store. I want to ask him if he's hiring."

"Yeah." Liu Ruyan sat down again.

The male clerk made several phone calls, and the disappointment on his face became more and more intense.

It was not until another female clerk came over and asked him coldly if he was still going to work that he said to Liu Ruyan regretfully that he was afraid it would be difficult to find a job.

Before leaving, he told Liu Ruyan that there was an Internet cafe nearby where overnight stays were very cheap and he sometimes spent the night there.

Liu Ruyan quickly found the Internet cafe.

Internet cafe is also a wonderful place for her.

This small and narrow space was filled with the sounds of keyboards and mice, and occasional roars.

There was a layer of blue cigarette smoke visible to the naked eye above 2 meters.

Liu Ruyan covered her nose and found an empty seat to sit down, being careful not to touch the table, which was covered with dandruff and solidified grease.

A man quickly sat down next to her, turned on the computer and put on headphones as if he was at home, and then quickly entered a shooting game, sometimes muttering to himself, sometimes howling angrily.

"Ah, pig nose, you're fooling yourself by throwing a cigarette... Don't blame others if you're stupid... Yeah, you're right, you're using a crappy shotgun to score 1-12... Use your pig brain to think about whether I should fill in?... Okay, you're right, all right... You're saving your money to buy an urn for your mother, not giving guns to your teammates?"

At noon, this person ordered a box lunch and ate it while playing games. The rice became cold and the fat on the meat turned white.

I don’t know if he felt sick from eating or playing games, but he got off the plane and left.

Looking at the half bowl of rice he left behind, Liu Ruyan swallowed.

Out of human dignity, she did not pick it up and eat it.

Through observation, she discovered that there was a profession called network administrator in the Internet cafe.

Usually they just sit at the front desk with their legs crossed and don't have to do anything.

It took Liu Ruyan a long time to determine that this job did not require any technical skills, so she walked over and talked to a middle-aged man leaning against the front desk, asking him if he was hiring a network administrator.

The middle-aged man looked her up and down, gave her a lewd smile, and said, "You shouldn't be a network administrator."

"Huh?" Liu Ruyan tilted her head.

The man said, I'll recommend a good seat for you, you can earn more by going to a nightclub.

"Oh..." Liu Ruyan said.

The network administrator at the front desk reminded Liu Ruyan that the middle-aged man was not from their Internet cafe, but Liu Ruyan still left with the man.

"Do you provide food and accommodation? How much is the monthly salary?" Liu Ruyan asked from behind.

The middle-aged man smiled and said, "We'll talk about it when we get there."

As soon as the two entered an alley, they were stopped by someone.

Liu Ruyan looked up and saw that it was Chen Ya.

"Where do you want to take my sister?" Chen Ya asked the man with a smile on his face.
