Chapter 118 Welcoming

There are still three kilometers to go before the elves reach Qin territory.

A huge tiger's head appeared at the front of the convoy.

"Unidentified object ahead!"

"That's my pet, it won't attack people, you can leave!"

Qin Yiyi peeked out of the skylight and saw the figure of the big tiger in front of her. This thing had grown bigger again, and the garden outside could no longer contain him. Because he had not yet learned to transform, he had been sent to sleep in the wasteland by Sid so as not to affect the normal work of the territories. Fortunately, he was thick-skinned and furry and was not afraid of the cold.

The driver proceeded cautiously. Qin Yiyi shook her head. She planned to form her own mercenary force and caravan after spring. Otherwise, it would be a bit awkward to always be using other people's caravans. Of course, if possible, she would communicate with Sky City to connect the railway line between Chaos City and her territory.

Her railway tracks currently only connect to the Mediterranean Sea next door, and are not yet connected to other railway tracks.

Perhaps after spring, we can find someone to clear out the entire railway track so she can see where these tracks connect to.

Qin Yiyi's car was at the front, followed by the bus and truck carrying the elves.

"Look, there's a big tiger ahead, and a large group of people. Have they encountered robbers along the way?"

The elves stood up and looked out the window, while others looked directly from the top of the unsealed freight car.

"The outside world is too chaotic. In the cities we passed through before, there were shootouts and robberies, and now there's someone blocking our way!"

However, some astute elves noticed something amiss.

The elves inherited their genes and all had excellent eyesight; they were looking at the people in front of them.

"There were men, women, old and young people, who didn't seem to be here to rob, and that huge tiger didn't show any signs of aggression!"

Soon, a conversation came through the walkie-talkie.

"Attention everyone, the local residents are here to greet us. There's no need to worry!"

The walkie-talkies were strapped to the vehicles, one for each vehicle, so everyone could hear them. The people from the territory came to pick them up mainly because of the unusual weather; it was completely dark by then, and they came with lights on.

As the vehicles approached, all the people spread their wings and flew over. Some of the vehicles in this large convoy had lights, while others did not. These temporarily dispatched vehicles all had some problems, but they could still be driven. It was no easy task to pull more than 10,000 people out of the convoy and squeeze them onto the vehicles.

There was an orc flying in the air next to the car with headlights, and two orcs flying in the air above the car without headlights.

The orc flying overhead was carrying a large bag of water, which was actually in small bottles.

The orc flew downwards and threw water into the vehicle.

"There are twenty bottles of water in one bag, one bottle for each person!"

The orcs kept throwing water into the carriage. The half-elf who took out water from her pocket couldn't help but open the cap and gulp it down. They were so thirsty. For people in their carriage, there was only a small cup of drinking water per day. Some people would only drink a few sips, and the rest of the water had to be used to keep their bodies clean.

Because toilets are scarce and there are many people, there are always queues for toilets. So these people save up water, drink a sip or two each day, and spend the rest of their time wiping their hands, face and other parts of their bodies.

I'm so surprised and delighted to have a small bottle of it now.

The orcs flew high in the sky and threw water down below.

The elf below opened the bottle and gave the younger ones water first before opening it himself and gulping it down. After finishing the bottle, he started to worry about what would happen if the sanitation in the territory was poor and there were no toilets. But he had already finished drinking it and there was nothing he could do. Besides, he couldn't go on without drinking water; he would have to get used to this kind of life eventually.

Several half-elves were discussing it.

"They can even bring us water, this territory can't be too bad!"

Several half-elves nearby nodded.

"They should be arriving soon. Send someone to pick us up!"

As the car drove forward, the territory came into view. Qin's territory was like a beacon in the night, its lights shining like a city that never sleeps.

"Look, we've arrived! It's not as backward as we imagined; it looks beautiful!"

"There are even flowers in this yellow sand, are they dried flowers?"

Among half-elves, there are those skilled in cultivating plants, those skilled in growing crops, and those skilled in building.

"Is it because the sandy terrain is prone to earthquakes that this territory is full of low-rise buildings?"

"But the rooms upstairs aren't enough to live in!"

Do we have to live in a tent in winter?

Sid brought the rabbits over and started counting heads, truckload by truckload.

"Don't worry, we have houses underground!" A few little rabbits hopped around. When the pangolin was building the underground city, the rabbits, groundhogs, and other genetically modified beastmen all went to help.

"You won't be sleeping in tents; you'll all be sleeping inside. It'll be a bit cramped for the first month, but it won't be cramped for the second month!"

"That's right, we've bought all the materials, and we'll definitely deliver a house to each household within a month!"

Orcs were building on the surface, and pangolins were in charge underground; the process was very fast.

"Let's get off one vehicle at a time and register first!" the little rabbits murmured and discussed.

"The half-elves are very hygienic, unlike some orcs, especially male orcs, who are particularly unhygienic. You can go straight in and someone will guide you to get food!"

These rabbits spoke scathingly about certain orcs, and the orcs whose names were mentioned burst into laughter.

"We may not be as hygienic as the half-elves, but we still bathe every day according to the territory's regulations!"

I wash these things every time I go home, rain or shine; it's become a habit.

As a half-elf, this was the first time I had ever heard anyone praise me, even if it was just for being clean. You see, in the Eternal City, elves would only call you a lazy pig, no matter how diligent you were. And even though I was clean, elves would walk by and say I smelled bad, that I was sour and stinky all over.

This was the first time I had met someone friendly other than an elf, and all the fatigue from the long journey instantly disappeared.

"Come on in with us! We made fried rice with cured pork today, but Old Yang was worried you might find it too dry, so he also made cabbage and tofu soup. If you're not used to eating dry food right after getting off the bus, you can have some porridge too. We also made vegetable porridge with pickled cabbage to whet your appetite. We also cooked noodles, tomato and egg noodles, but there aren't many tomatoes or eggs, so the portion is small. You might have to fight for it if you want some, first come, first served!"

These are all in large quantities, which amazed the half-elves. They thought they were doing well in the Eternal City, where they could only eat meat during festivals. Here, they were greeted with meat for their very first meal!
