Chapter 123 Frogman/Alien Mermaid

One by one, the frogmen curled up, their bodies entirely green, looking quite strange. All the frogmen huddled together, heads bowed and huddled in a tight spot.

There seems to be something fishy going on here!

[If it weren't for us, ordinary orcs wouldn't be able to break through this barrier, but the frogmen don't seem to have that kind of strength!]

Several tentacles were itching to take their next step against the frogman. Some of the tentacles were whispering among themselves, but the others couldn't wait any longer.

A tentacle lunged forward, heading straight for the center of the frogman.

The frogman was thrown away. He hadn't panicked when he was thrown out by the tentacles, but now he was flustered.

No matter how many times the frogman in the middle was hit, he wouldn't leave.

The rest of the frogmen croaked.

"No, no, please!"

[The frogman's ability to speak has even deteriorated! He used to be an amphibious beastman! How embarrassing!]

[What exactly is that thing in the middle? Is it the frogmen's prized possession? It's even bleeding from being ejected, yet it won't let go!]

One by one, the tentacles returned and began to discuss. They did not want to harm the frogmen. Although the original body did not remember much of the previous memories, the Kraken, despite being a giant of the North Sea, had always maintained a friendly attitude towards orcs with fish genes.

They still won't do anything that could harm or kill someone.

But....

Kraken spoke up.

"release!"

The frogman hugged her even tighter.

"release!"

Kraken's second sentence had already shaken the frogman away with water ripples. He was quick-witted and had many hands; one of his tentacles wrapped up the few small things that the frogman was protecting in the middle.

They were actually several mermaids!

What's going on?! The mermaid isn't in Atlantis, but in the lake next to our territory?!

[A tiny frog dares to secretly hide a mermaid!]

Merfolk are a hereditary race in Atlantis, just as the Eternal Dukes have hereditarily ruled the Eternal City.

However, these tentacles were observing the mermaid in front of them.

Although they resemble mermaids, upon closer inspection, their appearance is too bizarre, and they even have six arms!

[The one I have is even stranger; it has eight hands!]

What about me, with ten arms?

Hiss~

The tentacles gasped. This mermaid had mutated drastically; one day, she might have as many tentacles as the tentacle monster.

The tentacle monsters released their grip and retreated cautiously, with a hint of pity. These could no longer be called mermaids; such mutated species were simply intolerable to their race. Strangely enough, the union of humans and beasts created mutated species, yet even among mutated species, there were other species that could not tolerate them. For example, elves could not tolerate half-elves, and beautiful mermaids could never tolerate such a deformed species with bizarre appearance, numerous arms, and an inability to transform between a fish body and a human form.

But the frogmen protected them very well.

The frogmen presented pearls, each one a large, lustrous, and round pearl that the lord would surely like. The frogmen pleaded with their clumsy language to let them go.

The dozen or so mutated mermaids surrounded in the middle gritted their teeth and lowered their heads.

The giant monster in front of them was too powerful; they were no match for it. If it wanted to kill them, they would have no chance to fight back.

"My lord, please spare the frogmen! We are willing to obey your orders!" A dozen or so mermaids lowered their heads, and one of them, who seemed to be the leader and was wearing a pearl necklace, swam to the front.

She looked strange; her hair was tangled and wrapped in a headscarf, and her hands couldn't be hidden, so all ten arms hung down in the air.

Kraken was seeing such a creature for the first time, but he wasn't a purely wild species. Besides, eating was the most important thing to him. As long as he ate, his headache would stop and his tentacles would awaken more. Even if fragments of his past memories occasionally flashed by, he could think about them if he wanted to and not think about them if he didn't want to, and his head wouldn't explode. He enjoyed this kind of life.

"Whether or not the frogmen are spared is not up to me, it's up to the lord!"

Kraken used his tentacles to throw the frogman and a dozen or so mermaids, who could be considered part of the mermaid race, up into the air.

"Look, what Lord Ken threw up here!"

"What is this thing? It looks so strange!"

"Oh my god, they're all moving! Be on guard!"

"It looks like a living species?"

"A living organism?"

If it's a living being, it should be an orc. There are many kinds of orcs: those that run on land, those that fly in the sky, and those that swim in the water.

"Are they underwater beastmen? Let's go take a look! I've never seen this species before. Is it a new species left over from experiments?"

Yes, aside from those that evolved naturally after human experiments caused by a certain virus or radiation in the apocalypse, there is another type of species that came out of the laboratory later, called new species.

To elaborate, in order to find a way out of the apocalypse, the first experiments of human-beast hybridization were very successful, and the orc life forms began to naturally develop. In the later stages, orcs would naturally find partners and have offspring just like humans. Those offspring with atavism would become pure-blooded orcs, while those without atavism would naturally inherit certain genes from their parents. There are two types of new species. One type is the races that evolved from radiation, mutation, and foreign genes in the apocalypse, such as goblins, elves, and titans. These races all have their own absolute racial advantages.

Another new species emerged in the later stages of the apocalypse, after orcs had become a trend and society had gradually stabilized. A group of people, under the banner of creating a more powerful race, created new experimental subjects.

The white tiger that can speak human language was an early failed product that was set aside. Later, another group of people strengthened it and began to study it again, but it still failed to hatch. By chance, it has now broken out of its shell.

The frogmen and the mutated mermaids in front of them are both new species left over from later experimental subjects.

"Many people died, only the frogmen and mermaids survived. We dared not return to the surface, and the mermaids seemed to have awakened new skills. We have survived until now by relying on the fish in the lake."

The frogman spoke with his head down.

"There were many species that had failed in experiments and were thrown into the lake. Most of us were abandoned because we were on our last breath. We never expected to survive at the bottom of the lake!"

"They want to evolve us into the strongest species, but frogmen are still frogmen. They're just faster and more agile in the water than before. Frogmen feel like they can move freely in the deep sea, but they're not that much stronger."

They were not even able to fight back against other orcs. Even when facing the black and white whale, they could only run for their lives. If it weren't for the barrier formed by the mental power of the alien mermaids, they would have had no choice but to run for their lives as well.
