Chapter 6: A Free Breakfast

Before going out, Lin Yuxun went to check on Danny. Seeing that Danny was sleeping, he did not wake Danny up. Instead, he put the remaining tuna cereal from last night in a conspicuous place, and also put the half can of tuna next to it.

Danny is young and disabled, so it is not appropriate to leave him alone, but it is even more dangerous to take him out.

The garage where Lin Yuxun lives is not big, but it has everything you need - the room outside contains various kitchen utensils and appliances such as refrigerators, and there is also a flush toilet in the small compartment next to the bedroom.

Nowadays, there are not many families in China that have refrigerators and flush toilets, but here, the houses rented by the poor already have quite a few electrical appliances.

But... probably to save electricity, the refrigerator was not plugged in.

Cheng Hao put on the clothes Lin Yuxun gave him, and observed the situation in the house. Then he went out with Lin Yuxun and locked the door again.

The street outside is very narrow, only allowing one car to pass through. The houses on both sides are also very old. On the street, you can smell some unpleasant odors.

Cheng Hao and Lin Yuxun walked to school together and met many people on the way.

Most of these people are black, but there are also some white people. Some of them wear old clothes and have weathered faces, while others wear bright clothes, hold cigarettes in their mouths, and walk arrogantly on the road.

Cheng Hao even saw someone carrying a gun.

When they saw him and Lin Yuxun, these people either ignored them or were not very friendly.

Fortunately, the two of them looked very poor, so these people just cursed at them at most.

Cheng Hao had seen such a scene before in Cheng Jinhao's memory, but he still found it a little hard to accept when he encountered it now, and he was furious.

If he hadn't been injured, he would have gone up and attacked.

He is not a good-tempered person.

Unfortunately, he was injured, and he had to avoid implicating Lin Yuxun... Cheng Hao could only think that after his injury healed, he would give these people a good beating.

Cheng Hao was very angry, but Lin Yuxun lowered his head and walked forward, as if he was used to it.

Cheng Hao asked, "Lin Yuxun, my question may be a bit presumptuous... Where are your parents?"

Lin Yuxun said: "They are all dead."

Cheng Hao had already guessed this, and he sighed secretly when he heard this, and then asked, "Are you living alone with your brother now?"

Lin Yuxun nodded.

Lin Yuxun looked unwilling to say more, so Cheng Hao didn't ask any more questions. The two of them walked for about twenty minutes and finally arrived at the school.

Cheng Hao followed Lin Yuxun in and found that the school had all the basic facilities it should have, but it looked a bit shabby, and few people in the school seemed to be studying seriously.

This is also a characteristic of public schools located in poor communities. The students here don't like to study, and gradually, even the teachers will just muddle through in class.

There is no way around it. Teachers have an easy life too and may even be beaten by students.

Cheng Jinhao once beat up a teacher who discriminated against him.

Everyone in the school obviously knew Lin Yuxun. When they saw him, some people laughed loudly: "Look, that evil Oriental guy is here again."

"The yellow monkey is here to eat again."

"We should stay away from him!"

Cheng Hao understood some of it, but there was still a lot he didn't understand. For someone who studied Oxford English, American English with an accent was a bit difficult for him to understand, not to mention the swear words these people used, many of which were unique to this region.

But even if he didn't understand, his anger rose immediately. However, before he could do anything, Lin Yuxun said, "Breakfast is already served. Let's go over there quickly."

Cheng Hao followed Lin Yuxun to the cafeteria, and according to Cheng Jinhao's memory, he took a tray and went to line up.

When Cheng Hao was in modern times, he saw photos of free lunches in American schools on the Internet. They looked very rich, but in that era, the food provided to children was not that good.

Today's breakfast is just a vegetable burger, raw carrots and milk.

The only good thing was that the veggie burger was huge.

When it was Cheng Hao's turn, the white man serving the food frowned and said, "I remember there was only one Oriental person in our school."

"I just transferred here." Cheng Hao said.

The man glanced at Cheng Hao and said, "You'd better not cause trouble." As he said that, he gave Cheng Hao a meal.

Cheng Hao knew that this man must be aware that he was not from this school, but he didn't know whether it was out of sympathy or other reasons, but he still gave him food.

Without waiting to find a table to sit down, Cheng Hao picked up the vegetable burger and ate it, then drank the milk in one gulp, and finally ate the carrot.

He ate his food standing up.

Lin Yuxun followed over and said, "I can't finish it, I'll give you some..."

"No need!" Cheng Hao said, "I'll sit here for a while. If there is any extra food later, you can go and ask for some more." The school usually prepares a few extra meals, and since some people don't come to eat, there will always be leftovers.

While Lin Yuxun was eating, Cheng Hao sat next to him to rest.

He was still hungry, but his wounds had healed a lot. Seeing that no one was queuing up for food, he walked over and said to the person distributing food, "Can you give me some more food? I haven't eaten for several days..."

"Poor guy." The person distributing the food said and gave Cheng Hao another portion.

Cheng Hao ate it all in front of him.

The person serving the food: “…”

Cheng Hao shamelessly mixed four breakfasts and ate them all.

The person who served the food was not very friendly to Cheng Hao at first, but in the end, he looked at Cheng Hao with only sympathy.

The bun used for the veggie burgers was not a great bun, in fact it was hard and dry.

Some people, even if they are very poor, don't like to eat this.

But Cheng Hao ate it all... He believed Cheng Hao was really hungry.

Cheng Hao ate four breakfasts and felt much less hungry. He didn't want to attract attention, so he didn't ask for more breakfast. Instead, he went to find Lin Yuxun and said, "Study hard. I'll come back at noon."

"Okay." Lin Yuxun said.

Seeing that Lin Yuxun agreed, Cheng Hao walked out.

As a result, as soon as he walked out of the school gate, he ran into three acquaintances. They were the three black men who came to cause trouble for Lin Yu last night.

Seeing these three people walking directly towards the school... they should also be students of this school.

Cheng Hao saw these three people, and these three people also saw Cheng Hao. After they suffered a loss at Cheng Hao's hands yesterday, they wanted to take revenge. Unfortunately, when they went to seek revenge in the middle of the night, they were splashed with water by the landlord who lived upstairs from Lin Yuxun.

Now seeing Cheng Hao, they suddenly became excited and wanted to attack Cheng Hao.

However, Cheng Hao was faster than them.

Before they could say anything or take action, Cheng Hao rushed towards one of them and punched him in the stomach.

Cheng Hao had extensive combat experience in his previous life, but he also knew very well that he could not be besieged.

Two fists can't beat four hands!

Therefore, he needs to reduce his opponents as quickly as possible.

Cheng Jinhao's physical fitness is quite good. With that punch, one of the three people lost his fighting ability. Cheng Hao then kicked one of them between the legs...

The person who was punched in the stomach was still vomiting, and the person who was kicked by him had already fallen to the ground, wailing and rolling around. The second person turned around and tried to escape, but was kicked in the butt by Cheng Hao.

The three men were young and thin, and Cheng Hao was ruthless, so he was able to hit them all with one blow. However, after knocking down the three men, Cheng Hao still almost fell down, and his fist was very painful.

He stepped on the back of the last person he had knocked down and said, "You three, I let you go yesterday, and you still dare to come to me? You're so brave!"

The person who was hit in the stomach was still vomiting, the person who was kicked in the vitals was still wailing, and the person who was stepped on by Cheng Hao was cursing... Cheng Hao's foot increased in strength: "Do you believe it or not, I will kill people?"

The man immediately began to beg for mercy.

Cheng Hao glanced at the other two and said, "If I see you bullying others again, I will definitely teach you a lesson even more severe than today!"

Without hesitation, the three began to assure themselves that they would not do it.

Cheng Hao said, "Get lost!"

The two people he hadn't stepped on immediately ran away, and the one he had stepped on was stunned: "What about me?"

"I have something to ask you." Cheng Hao picked him up.

Cheng Jinhao came to this community alone. Not only that, he was stabbed as soon as he arrived.

So although Cheng Hao learned a little about the America of that era through Cheng Jinhao's memories, he did not know the situation of this community.

He needs someone to show him around here.

If he had brought all three black men with him, he might not be able to suppress them, but with just one, it would be no problem. The man he was stepping on was the shortest among them, only about 1.5 meters tall and weighing only 60 kilograms. He could handle him.

Cheng Hao brought the man over and sat on the concrete steps outside an apartment building: "Tell me about the situation here and about Lin Yuxun."

The man started talking immediately, but he didn't know who Lin Yuxun was at first. It was only after Cheng Hao explained that he understood who Cheng Hao was asking about.

After all, Lin Yuxun usually uses his English name Tony.

Although Cheng Hao’s savior was not a barber, his name was that.

The situation in this community was not much different from the slum community Cheng Hao remembered Cheng Jinhao had lived in before. As for Lin Yuxun... through this person, Cheng Hao learned that Lin Yuxun had only lived in this community for three years.

However, Lin Yuxun's mother has been living here.

Lin Yuxun's mother is Chinese. She lives here with her mixed-race white child and makes a living by doing the flesh trade. Three years ago, Lin Yuxun came here. It was said that his father had died and he had to come to find his mother.

As a result, his mother also died a year ago, and he had to live with his mute brother.

Lin Yuxun is not yet an adult. Not only does he have to live on his own, but he also has to take care of his younger brother. Cheng Hao knows how hard his life is without even thinking about it.

He had rested enough and pulled the black man up.

"I've already told you everything!" the black man said. "Let me go!"

"No, I still have something for you to do." Cheng Hao said.

"What's the matter?" the man asked.

"Take me to the relief center." Cheng Hao said.

Black person:"……"
