Chapter 8 Bar

Although they didn't have much contact, Lin Yuxun knew that Cheng Hao was different from the people he had come into contact with since childhood.

The people around him who were about the same age as Cheng Hao always formed gangs and fought fiercely for the position of leader. They all knew how to curse, and whoever didn't curse would be bullied.

People are always very irritable. They will jump up and fight if they disagree with something, and they will fight over any good thing.

They also drink, indulge in marijuana and women, and always focus on the present and never think about how to live tomorrow.

And Cheng Hao...even though he also got into a fight yesterday, he didn't say a single swear word.

Although he eats quickly, his posture is very nice.

His English is as good as that of the announcer on the radio.

He was injured and ended up in this place, but he didn't belong here at all and would probably leave soon.

Now, he may be gone.

It’s nothing. Lin Yuxun told himself that he had always been alone and could always be alone in the future.

No, he wasn't alone, he still had Danny to take care of.

Someone walked past him and laughed.

The man spoke very loudly, but Lin Yuxun couldn't hear clearly what he said. He felt very heavy and all the strength in his body was almost gone.

He would never have continued to live without Danny.

"Lin Yuxun." A voice suddenly sounded, the fog in front of Lin Yuxun disappeared, and he saw Cheng Hao.

His heart suddenly calmed down.

Cheng Hao didn't have a watch and didn't know the time. When he saw Lin Yuxun at school, he immediately asked, "Are you waiting for me? Is it time for lunch?"

Lin Yuxun's expression changed: "Lunch time is over."

"It's been a while?" Cheng Hao was a little anxious: "Let's go over and take a look... By the way, have you eaten?"

Lin Yuxun shook his head.

Cheng Hao pulled Lin Yuxun forward and said as he ran, "Why don't you go eat? You must eat on time from now on, okay? And don't go hungry, it's not good for your stomach."

Lin Yuxun nodded, but then he realized that Cheng Hao was running in front and couldn't see him nodding.

Cheng Hao dragged Lin Yuxun to the school cafeteria and found only one or two people still eating. The person serving the food was directing a black woman to clear the table. He himself did not work, but continued to complain: "I'm really fed up with this place. Can't these guys stop eating all over the table?"

As a result, after he complained like this, the person who was still eating smeared the ketchup on the plate with his hand and smeared it on the table.

Cheng Hao glanced at the black man with ketchup on his face and rushed to the person distributing the food: "Excuse me, is there any lunch left? I'm very hungry..."

"I remember you... you ate so much in the morning and you're hungry again? I thought you wouldn't be able to eat anything the whole day!" said the person who distributed the food.

"I have a big appetite." Cheng Hao smiled at him.

"Okay... but it's not lunch time anymore," the man said. "You've been over twenty minutes! Not two minutes, twenty minutes!"

"Is there any extra food? You are a kind person..." Cheng Hao looked at the other party.

The person who shared the meal was not a good person, but he was not a bad person either: "For your pity."

He said, taking out some food.

The food was crude, consisting of blackened bread, some bacon, a few slices of orange, some raw red cabbage, oh, and some ketchup.

Cheng Hao has never liked eating raw vegetables. The only thing he can accept is the little bit of vegetable leaves in the hamburger.

In the past, he would never eat this kind of raw purple cabbage.

But he was hungry.

Cheng Hao ate up all the food, while Lin Yuxun had only eaten half of the bread.

There was some food left in the cafeteria, but the person distributing the food didn't give Cheng Hao too much. Fortunately, Cheng Hao had eaten a lot throughout the day, which had alleviated his hunger.

After dinner, Cheng Hao finally had time to talk to Lin Yuxun: "I went to the relief center today and got some food. You can take it home after class."

As he spoke, Cheng Hao gave the sandwich and milk in his hand to Lin Yuxun.

Lin Yuxun said, "I still have to... go to class, it's inconvenient to carry them with me, you can take them back." As he said that, he handed the key to the rolling door to Cheng Hao.

Cheng Hao thought that Lin Yuxun might be bullied at school and have his food taken away, so he immediately agreed and said, "Then study hard. I'll go back first."

Lin Yuxun nodded. His father always told him to study hard, but he never expected Cheng Hao to say something like that...

Seeing Lin Yuxun's obedient appearance, Cheng Hao couldn't help but say, "Don't give the key to your house to others casually in the future. What if you meet a bad guy?"

Lin Yuxun didn't say anything either, just looked at Cheng Hao with his eyes open.

Cheng Hao pinched his face and turned away.

As soon as Cheng Hao left the school, he saw Chester.

Cheng Hao hated Chester's behavior of bullying Lin Yuxun, but Chester was also a minor, so he couldn't do anything too harsh on Chester.

In fact, because he was unfamiliar with the place, he needed Chester's help.

However, he did not intend to be friendly to Chester, nor was he willing to let Chester go to Lin Yuxun... So when he came, he asked Chester not to follow him, so as not to be seen by Lin Yuxun.

"I need to go back first before going to that bar," Cheng Hao said, "Do you want to come with me, or wait for me here?"

Chester said, "I'll go with you."

Cheng Hao asked, "Don't you study?"

"Reading? I have never studied well. Now I can't even recognize all the words." Chester laughed and looked proud.

Seeing him like this, Cheng Hao had nothing to say.

The two soon arrived at Lin Yuxun's residence. Cheng Hao opened the door with his key and walked in. Then he saw Danny in the bedroom holding a can and eating the soybeans in it with a fork.

He couldn't hear any sound and didn't notice Cheng Hao at first. Later, when he saw him, he just looked at Cheng Hao quietly and ignored him.

This child is so calm... Cheng Hao even wonders if he has any other problems besides being deaf and dumb.

But now he and Lin Yuxun are penniless, even if the child has other problems, they can't do anything.

Cheng Hao put all five sandwiches and milk on the bed and pushed them in front of the child.

The child looked at Cheng Hao again, then opened a carton of milk and began to drink calmly.

Cheng Hao touched his hair and then left.

Chester was waiting outside and saw Cheng Hao coming out. He walked forward carrying a sandwich and milk wrapped in his shirt.

Old George's bar is a thirty-minute walk from where Lin Yuxun lives. As soon as Cheng Hao entered the vicinity of the bar, he felt that the atmosphere here was not right.

He saw guns on several people, and the people coming and going looked like they were not to be trifled with.

Old George's bar is very conspicuous among the row of shops. The door of the bar is well decorated, and the sign is decorated with many lights. It is not obvious during the day, but when the lights are turned on at night, the bar should be more eye-catching.

As soon as he saw the bar, Chester was eager to try it out: "I haven't been in yet, I wonder what it's like inside!"

Cheng Hao looked at Chester and said, "Thank you for bringing me here. The grudge between you and me is now over. As long as you stop bullying Lin Yuxun, I won't cause any trouble for you and your friends... Goodbye!"

"You won't take me in?" Chester was dumbfounded.

"Children shouldn't be in places like this."

Chester immediately became unhappy: "I'm not a child anymore! I can sleep with women!"

Cheng Hao was already walking towards the bar and almost stumbled when he heard this.

The various aspects of this slum community were really hard for him, a man who grew up under the red flag, to accept.

Although Chester felt that he was already an adult, Cheng Hao still had no plans to take him with him.

He strode into the bar, and just as he entered, he was stopped by an older, unshaven black man: "Kid, what are you doing here?"

The person who stopped Cheng Hao had a cigarette in his mouth, and the smell of the cigarette was completely different from that of ordinary cigarettes.

Cheng Hao's expression remained unchanged as he said, "I'm here to see Old George... I'm a boxer and I want to fight."

"Fighting? With you?" The man blew a puff of smoke at Cheng Hao.

Cheng Hao held his breath silently.

"I've learned boxing for many years and I can fight," Cheng Hao said, "and I'm Chinese, so I know Chinese Kung Fu."

Having fallen to this point, Cheng Hao knew very well that he could not be picky and had to learn to humble himself.

The man frowned slightly.

Cheng Hao added: "Whether we win or lose, having someone who knows Chinese Kung Fu fighting in a bar is always a gimmick."

"I don't need any gimmicks here...but you convinced me." The black man threw the cigarette on the ground: "Come in, little guy!"
