"Young Madam." Uncle Meng, the Chu family's butler, came over carrying a large bag. "These are Chu Chu's clothes. The Old Madam has packed them all."
"Thank you, Uncle Meng. Please tell Mom for me. Also, these are local specialties my father brought. Please give them to Mom and Dad to try."
Uncle Meng: "Yes, I'll take it to the old lady in a bit. She's been really into eating some unusual foods lately."
"If Mom and Dad like it, I'll bring it again next time. This is for everyone, so thank you Uncle Meng for your help."
Uncle Meng: "Young Madam, you're too kind. On behalf of everyone, thank you, Young Madam."
Although the original owner didn't visit the Chu family mansion often, she still did her job as a daughter-in-law properly, and the Chu family's servants all had a pretty good impression of her, except for the fact that she had a lot of scandals.
Lan Qingyue, holding Chu Chu's clothes in both hands, half-squatted down and asked with a smile, "Chu Chu, what do you want to say to Grandpa Meng?"
The little one immediately understood, tilting her head up with a sweet smile, "Goodbye, Grandpa Meng! Chuchu will miss you~~~"
After bringing Chu Chu home, Lan Rongchang served the last dish, a soup. The meal consisted of four dishes and a soup, all of which were Chu Chu's favorites: braised fish, sweet and sour pork ribs, stir-fried corn, and egg drop soup.
"Grandpa, Grandpa, Chuchu misses you so much~ Do you miss Chuchu too~~~"
After Lan Rongchang put down the bowl of soup, the little guy wobbled over and nimbly climbed into Lan Rongchang's arms, hooking his chubby little hands around his neck and giving him a few kisses on the face, leaving his face covered in drool.
Lan Rongchang gently stroked Chu Chu's chubby cheeks with his calloused hands. Remembering Lan Qingyue's comment that Chu Chu didn't like vegetables, he asked, "Grandpa misses Chu Chu. Has Chu Chu been eating well?"
"Yes, Chuchu ate her food well~~~" Chuchu stretched out her chubby hands, gesturing a large area, "Grandpa, Chuchu ate this much~~~"
Lan Rongchang laughed heartily, his wrinkles deepening. "Wow, Chuchu is amazing! What about vegetables? How many vegetables does Chuchu eat every day?"
Chu Chu: "~~~"
Waaaaah~ I don't like eating vegetables~
The little one pouted his pink lips, puffed out his cheeks, stuck out his little bottom, and nestled in Lan Rongchang's arms, refusing to show his face.
Lan Qingyue winked at Lan Rongchang, "See, see, I told you, she doesn't like vegetables. When we made her eat vegetables, this is what happened."
Lan Rongchang patted Chu Chu's back and softened his voice, "Chu Chu, children need to eat more vegetables to grow tall and healthy~~~"
"Look what Grandpa made for you today, do you like it?" Lan Rongchang carried Chu Chu to the table, gently bending her hand down slightly. The rich aroma of meat wafted into her nose, whetting the little one's appetite. She peeked out, drooling, and pointed her chubby little hand at the braised fish, "Grandpa, Chu Chu wants to eat fish~~~"
Lan Rongchang took a step back, and Chu Chu's hand couldn't reach the meat. "What about the vegetables?"
Chu Chu: "~~~"
Vegetables should be kept in the refrigerator, of course. If Mommy wants to eat them, then Mommy can eat them.
Lan Rongchang looked at the little baby's chubby cheeks and explained, "Chuchu, you have to eat vegetables before you can eat meat, otherwise it will be too greasy."
"Not greasy at all~~~" Chu Chu shook her head, tossing her little pigtails and jiggling her chubby cheeks, her eyes fixed longingly on the plate of braised fish. "Grandpa, Chu Chu can eat lots of meat, it's not greasy at all~~~"
