Wei Yu's words had no deterrent effect whatsoever. Ji Junyao still held her hand tightly, his warm, thin lips curving into a faint smile. In the sunlight, his deep, obsidian-like black eyes were filled with starlight. There was no denying that he was a man with extremely handsome and striking features.
From twenty-five to thirty, time left no trace on his face, only taking away his wild and unruly nature and giving him a more indifferent and composed temperament.
He had the same face, but he was different. He didn't give off a cold feeling, but a warm feeling, as gentle and warm as a spring breeze. He was like the most powerful harbor in the world, able to shelter people from the wind and rain, carefree, and as innocent as a child.
The indifference in her eyes was like autumn frost bathed in sunlight, melting away little by little, revealing her cold gaze as radiant as a star, shining directly into one's heart.
A sharp pain shot through her hand, and Wei Yu reluctantly pulled herself out of her reverie. Meeting Ji Junyao's intense gaze, she lowered her head and chuckled softly, "Knowing it would hurt, I still couldn't help but fantasize. How silly!"
She was referring to herself.
He understood.
He unconsciously softened his grip, his thumb gently tracing across her delicate palm, sending a tingling sensation through him. He tilted his head slightly to meet her gaze, and the emotions in her eyes were so obvious that she had no intention of hiding them anymore.
It felt like a huge stone was lodged in his chest, making him feel heavy and suffocated. After a while, he realized that she was right beside him, and what could be more fortunate than that?
He softened his tone, his voice as gentle as a spring breeze and a light drizzle, "Weiyu, after the third round is over, shall I take you out to play? Where do you want to go? I'll go with you."
I'm fine with going anywhere, but I'd prefer to go out for a walk by myself.
Whether you say it or not, it's meaningless.
Wei Yu gently tugged at the corner of her lips, her voice ethereal as if from distant interstellar space, "Okay, let's go for a walk."
She really should go out for a walk to clear her head.
She doesn't think she's made of iron; she's always cooped up in one place, numbing herself with a lot of work. She worries that one day she won't be able to take it anymore.
Over the years, she has never stopped, because if she stopped for even a moment, a sense of guilt would surge up in her heart, like a fierce flood that would engulf her, so she dared not hesitate for even a moment.
She couldn't enjoy the luxury of being alone for a while anymore. Wei Yu didn't want to stay here any longer. Rather than being the subject of gossip at any moment, she preferred to stay in her room. At least Lan Qingyue wouldn't put any pressure on her.
Wei Yu started struggling again, trying to pull her hand away. "Okay, let go. I should go back now."
“Okay,” Ji Junyao agreed.
Wei Yu glanced at his hands, which were restraining him, and asked in confusion, "Hmm?"
This man is straightforward and decisive at work, so why does he always dawdle and waste time when he's with her?
"I can only leave if you let go."
Wei Yu thought he hadn't heard him, so he repeated it again.
He remained silent.
Wei Yu: "Is there anything else you want to say to me?"
"And you?" he countered. "Don't you have anything to say to me?"
No, there really isn't.
Wei Yu racked her brains but couldn't think of anything else she was hiding from Ji Junyao. She tentatively asked, "Goodbye?"
Ji Junyao seemed to sigh softly, but Wei Yu didn't hear him clearly. He raised his hand and gently stroked her pert nose, smiling, "You look beautiful today!"
