The village's sun lamps were already lit. Director Cai held Chu Chu in his arms, unable to put her down. Lan Qingyue pulled a small folding chair and joined the crowd, listening to everyone chat. She showed no arrogance whatsoever, unlike the rumors outside that she was temperamental and arrogant.
The face was still the same, but the soul was no longer the same. Lan Qingyue was no longer the original owner of the body, so she didn't have such a heavy idol image. When people talked about funny topics, she would laugh out loud. In just one afternoon, the staff's impression of her changed a lot. Besides, she was also the mother of the adorable Chu Chu, so the staff were willing to get close to her and chat with her.
Around 7 o'clock, the groups of guests finally showed up. It turned out that in their search for a house, they had wandered from one end of the village to the other, almost reaching another village. After being reminded by the director that they had exceeded their selection range, they sheepishly returned.
At first, they were too proud to ask for lodging, and the villagers just assumed they were tourists passing through and didn't think much of it. As it got dark, the groups of guests finally let go of their celebrity image and went up to ask the owners of the houses that were somewhat suitable. Some families had too many people and were unwilling to let them stay, so they had to look for other places. After all that trouble, an entire afternoon was gone.
They appeared at the village entrance, all packed tightly together. It was only thanks to the generous contributions of the directors from each group that the guests were able to have something to eat.
On the other hand, Lan Qingyue, who had a welcoming mission, was better off than the other guests, even though she spent a boring afternoon at the village entrance. She didn't have to go hungry or be tired, and she could eat a small boxed lunch and chat with the staff while sitting on a small stool.
Around 8 p.m., the street stalls had all closed, with only a few shops still open. The sixth group of guests arrived late.
Lan Qingyue took the drowsy Chu Chu from the director's hands, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Chu Chu's round, chubby face. She hadn't pinched Chu Chu's cheeks in ages, and her hands were really itching to do so. Lan Qingyue gently pinched Chu Chu's cheeks while calling to her, "Chu Chu, your older brothers and sisters are here~"
The little guy was about to fall asleep when he was suddenly disturbed. He kept rubbing his eyes with his chubby hands, watching the roast duck shop owner chopping meat with a cleaver, looking completely bewildered. "Who am I? Where am I? What am I supposed to do?"
She stared longingly at the roast duck hanging on the rack. The glistening skin and clawless legs seemed to be greeting her. Her mouth watered.
Chu Chu danced excitedly, spreading her arms wide and leaning forward, "Mommy, eat, eat meat~~~"
Lan Qingyue helplessly pulled her back, blocking her view of the roast duck with one hand, "Chuchu, we don't have any money, we can't afford meat."
Chu Chu's chubby face twitched. "!!!"
Why?
Doesn't Mommy have a lot of money?
Mommy has a basket full of diamonds too!
Are roast duck legs really that expensive now?
The little bun, whose mind was filled with nothing but roast duck legs, angrily fiddled with his fingers.
Lan Qingyue: "The money was taken by that bald uncle."
The camera suddenly focused on the director, who was lying in a rocking chair, fanning himself with a palm leaf fan to swat mosquitoes.
Director: "!!! Why are you filming me? Don't I have an image to maintain?"
"Haven't you ruined your image for over a decade?" a staff member joked, causing several female directors with low thresholds for laughter to double over with laughter.
Lan Qingyue chuckled and coaxed Chu Chu, "Chu Chu, be good~~ Look to the left, there's a handsome young man on the left."
Chu Chu: "~~~"
All I see are meat.
