Chapter 470 Argument

The atmosphere here was relatively cheerful, but it was a different story for Wei Yu. As soon as she stepped out of the restaurant, Wei Yu shook off Ji Junyao's hand, her face filled with anger. She frowned at him, but his expression remained the same, a slight smile playing on his lips. To Wei Yu, that smile was sarcastic and glaringly obvious. "Why did you do that just now? Why did you do those things in front of outsiders? How can a boss and employee behave in such an inappropriate way? What are they supposed to think of me? Ji Junyao, what are you up to? You've embarrassed me time and time again. You've gone too far!"

In a not-too-noisy location, with passersby coming and going, some people couldn't help but stop when they heard such a cold voice. Seeing a girl throwing a tantrum at such a tall and handsome man, the girls passing by pouted sourly and forcefully pulled the boys next to them away.

Ji Junyao's expression underwent a subtle change. His dark eyes, like an abyss, stared intently at the tantrum-throwing Wei Yu. His thin lips were pressed tightly together, and his hands at his sides clenched and unclenched repeatedly.

Whenever Ji Junyao remained silent like this, Wei Yu's heart would beat faster and faster, almost leaping out of her throat. Her pupils reflected Ji Junyao's image, and she was all too familiar with this feeling of fear. She twitched her heels slightly and took a step back, naively trying to escape Ji Junyao's gaze. The moment she turned around, her wrist tightened, and she was pulled into Ji Junyao's arms.

Ji Junyao's hands were wrapped tightly around her, making it hard for her to breathe, let alone struggle.

At this moment, Wei Yu dared not go against Ji Junyao. She could only lean against him without moving, like an emotionless puppet. Even though his strength was too great and it hurt her, she gritted her teeth and did not say a word.

The dark clouds in the sky slowly gathered together, and the sweltering heat of midsummer was instantly swept away by a gust of wind. Even the number of people walking on the roadside decreased, and some shops simply closed their doors. The dust on the ground was sometimes swirled up and sometimes scattered all over the ground.

In this anxious atmosphere, the dark clouds grew thicker and thicker. Ji Junyao released Wei Yu, pursed his lips and looked at her deeply. He took her hand, and this time, his touch was so light and gentle, as if he were handling a rare treasure with utmost care.

Ji Junyao's car was in a nearby parking lot. When he arrived at the car, Ji Junyao personally opened the passenger door and quietly gazed at Wei Yu.

Wei Yu didn't say anything or look at him. She bent down and got into the car, and heard the car door close.

Soon, Ji Junyao opened the driver's side door. Wei Yu turned her face away, looking out the window. Her face was flushed with heat, and her shoulders shrank reflexively. She propped herself up with one hand on the seat and moved herself.

Ji Junyao's expression remained unchanged. He sighed softly and fastened Wei Yu's seatbelt.

They remained silent the entire way.

As expected, there was a traffic jam on the road. At this moment, the weather turned against us, and rain began to pelt the car body. The sky in the distance was a hazy gray.

Wei Yu propped her temples up and slowly leaned back in her chair. Even though she tried her best to ignore it, she could still clearly feel that gaze.

She is a rather introverted person and not good at socializing. As a result, even though she is in her twenties, she can count the number of friends she has on one hand.

This kind of personality has one advantage: she is good at hiding herself. She is used to hiding and enduring, and thus she is used to being alone. Over time, very few people can see through her emotions.
