Chapter 86: A Golden Scale Shouldn't Be Keeped in a Pond

I couldn't hear what was said clearly because I was far away, but I guess there will be some movement in the next two days. I'll follow closely and maybe I'll find something.

"I thought it would be strange to come down the mountain with an empty backpack, so I picked some local produce and took a look at the traps I had set up a few days ago. Unexpectedly, I caught a few rabbits and shot a couple of pheasants," Gu Tingzhou explained.

"Okay, you come and knead the dough, and we'll make dumplings tonight. After dinner, you can continue squatting. I guess these two guys might make a move tonight. Then we can use internal and external forces to catch them in the trap."

"Okay. What are Erniu and Dabao doing?" Gu Tingzhou asked in confusion after hearing the chattering sounds outside.

Li Qingyun told Erniu that he wanted to learn arithmetic from Dabao.

"Erniu is a man with a miserable life, so we should help him if we can. Dabao will learn by himself anyway, so by taking Erniu with you, we can encourage him to make progress." Dabao and Erniu have formed a good relationship, which may be good for both families in the future, so there is no need to interfere in this matter.

Erniu smelled the fragrance of cooking and got up to go home, but Gu Tingzhou forced him to stay and have dinner.

Li Qingyun cooked a big pot of dumplings. Gu Tingzhou and the little boy Erniu each had twenty dumplings, a big bowl.

Li Qingyun has twelve and Dabao has ten.

Several people ate until their stomachs were full.

Erniu hadn't eaten so much in a long time, and the white flour dumplings were so delicious, better than during the Chinese New Year. Although he repeatedly refused, he still couldn't resist the temptation.

After dinner, Erniu insisted on helping to wash the dishes and clean the house, so Li Qingyun let him do it if it would make him feel better.

After cleaning up, Erniu continued to study with Dabao for a while before getting up and going home. They agreed that every night after Dabao finished his homework, he would come over to study for a while.

Li Qingyun boiled some medicine and fed it to Erbao. Good medicine tastes bitter, and children's illnesses come and go quickly. Erbao is basically fully recovered now, and he doesn't need to drink any more medicine after taking it.

Just as it was getting dark, Gu Tingzhou came back with a happy face.
