Chapter 31, 31st Beam of Light: "Two people in a tent."

Chapter 31, 31st Beam of Light: "Two people in a tent."

After suppressing his feelings for so many years, how could he become so irrational after only spending a week with her?

Yu Mushang's feelings were very complicated at this moment.

Song Xingyun took it as a polite response and smiled as she saw the enthusiastic group off. She breathed a sigh of relief after they had gone far away, saying, "They are so energetic. I hope I can be like that when I'm old."

Yu Mushang sensed nothing amiss in her tone and knew she hadn't taken his answers and reactions to heart. He didn't know whether to feel relieved or disappointed.

Song Xingyun was looking down at the photos the old man had just taken, marveling as she looked at them. "The old man was right, they really are very good." She was particularly stunned by the last one.

She didn't realize she looked at Yu Mushang like this; even she herself had a strange feeling, because the old man had somehow managed to evoke emotion in her otherwise emotionless gaze...

Song Xingyun glanced at it a couple more times, then quickly backed away before overthinking it.

"Shall we continue filming?" Yu Mushang asked.

Song Xingyun glanced at the two well-behaved Labradors beside her. "Take some pictures, let's take a few of them, we're already here." She had her own selfish reasons for wanting to take some photos of the two brothers.

Longevity and a hundred years old go very well together. No matter how Song Xingyun poses, you know what? A puppy and a sunflower field are also a perfect match.

Song Xingyun was busy working, occasionally glancing at Yu Mushang's condition. Seeing that he was waiting silently in the same spot without a single complaint, she quickened her pace as the sun rose higher and higher overhead.

As they continued taking pictures, Song Xingyun's selfish motives grew stronger. She regretted not asking the old man to take a group photo of the two of them and their two dogs earlier. Now that she wanted to take one, she couldn't find a place to set up her camera.

In the end, she could only take selfies. Song Xingyun found a spot and managed to get them and the sunflower field into the viewfinder. The two quick shots turned out pretty well. "Let's go."

Song Xingyun placed the leash for the hundred-year-old dog into Yu Mushang's hand. At her command, the man and the two dogs obediently lifted their paws. She was satisfied, "So well-behaved."

After saying that, Song Xingyun caught a glimpse of the man turning his head in an instant, and she instinctively explained, "I was praising them."

She thought that was the end of it, after all, Yu Mushang really didn't deserve her praise, she had already done a lot of things that were disrespectful to her superiors today.

To everyone's surprise, the man became even more argumentative, "Oh? Only praise them? Am I being naughty?"

Song Xingyun: ?

How am I supposed to answer that? Huh? "Boss, you?"

"Hmm?" Yu Mushang raised an eyebrow slightly, and uttered a single syllable with a rising tone at the end.

Song Xingyun couldn't help but swallow hard, boldly guessing his intentions, "Good boy, I said, boss is good too, hehe, haha."

The man had already turned his head to face the camera. "Hmph, if it weren't for those two fake laughs, it might be more believable."

It means I'm not satisfied.

Song Xingyun pursed her lips tightly, only daring to mutter to herself: "A boss who acts like a child is so hard to please!"

Fortunately, we arrived at the picnic area quickly. The area was spacious with a large lawn, and there were even places to rent camping and picnic items at the entrance. Today's decision was made on short notice, and we left in a hurry without being fully prepared, so we could make do here.

Song Xingyun was overjoyed because not only could she rent clean picnic mats, but she could even rent tents. She seriously suspected that this park made its profit from this.

"Boss, do you have any new tents?" Song Xingyun herself didn't care, but considering that Yu Mushang was also involved, a clean one was always a safe bet.

The shopkeeper rummaged around and finally found an unopened tent. "Miss, there's only one new one left, just enough for two people. Would you like to buy or rent?" Since you can buy or rent here, it's not surprising that there are new ones available.

Without a second thought, Song Xingyun said, "I'll rent it."

But the man and she both said at the same time, "Buy."

The boss gave her a number, and she obediently and readily scanned the code to transfer the money.

She took the tent and couldn't help but utter a doubtful question, "Can this really fit two people?"

The boss chuckled, "Don't worry, it'll definitely work!"

After walking several meters away from the stall, Yu Mushang spoke again, "Assistant Song, are you planning to stay here?"

Song Xingyun: ...Didn't you say you were going to buy it?

"I was just worried you'd get heatstroke," she said, her voice trailing off. "Since we're already here, of course we should watch the sunset before we go back..."

He said he wanted to go out for a walk today, so she decided to stay outside all day.

Song Xingyun had already decided to order takeout for lunch.

But it was all her own decision. After thinking about it, she still asked Yu Mushang for his opinion. Without hesitation, he replied, "I'll listen to you."

That sounds familiar.

This wasn't the answer he gave to the elderly people in the sunflower field.

I'll do whatever you say.

Just four words, yet Song Xingyun's mind was filled with: the feeling of being a married man.

She shook her head several times in small, rapid movements, trying to find a reason for him: "I'm the only helper around him, so of course he can only listen to me."

Yu Mushang didn't want to remind her of the combined benefits of her centenarian status and the smart white cane.

Song Xingyun found a shady spot and skillfully began setting up the tent. Yu Mushang heard a noise nearby and asked, "You know how?"

Song Xingyun looked up at him, her face full of smugness. "Didn't I already say that I'm an all-around assistant? Who said I was just bragging?"

She used to go out sketching, so she had some experience setting up tents. After all, having a place to camp can save a lot on hotel accommodation costs.

Yu Mushang leaned against a large tree trunk. Perhaps because he had been in the sun for a long time today, he looked lazy and even somewhat sluggish, quite different from his usual image. He was particularly relaxed. "Hmm, definitely not me."

He still won't admit it?

Song Xingyun laughed, "Yes, that's definitely not what you said."

What can you do? It's your boss, so pamper him!

Song Xingyun set up the tent, crossed her arms, and stared at it for a while. Even the usually quiet Yu Mushang felt something was off. "What's wrong?"

She glanced at Yu Mushang, then at herself, and then at the tent. "No, we're just checking if this tent can really fit the two of us."

It is indeed a tent for 1-2 people. There shouldn't be any problem for the two of them to go in. It's just that the space is so small that it's a bit cramped.

However, she recovered quickly, since she didn't necessarily need to go in for a midday rest.

So when Yu Mushang asked her about the result, she replied, "Okay."

Looking out, there was a super wide lawn. Not many people came to camp in the middle of summer; most just had picnics and left. Fortunately, the spot they chose was shady and comfortable, with a gentle breeze blowing occasionally. Song Xingyun was very satisfied.

She took out the mosquito repellent spray she carried with her and sprayed it around, letting Yu Mushang rest where he was. She planned to take Changmingbaisui for a walk.

When Changming and Baisui saw the large lawn, their eyes lit up. Now that they had their owner's approval, Song Xingyun could hardly hold them back, and the two dogs ran off happily.

In the end, she was the first to give in and came back, saying, "You two should come one at a time!"

Hearing her panting, Yu Mushang called out to Bai Sui, "Come and rest for a while."

Song Xingyun felt a pang of jealousy. "Sigh, people are treated worse than dogs."

She muttered to herself, took out the remaining third of the water from her bag, and downed it in one gulp without thinking twice.

Glug.

It was a very loud sound.

While patting Bai Sui's head, Yu Mushang turned his head toward the source of the sound and asked her, "Assistant Song, is it good?"
