Chapter 70, 70th Beam of Light: "Bring her back."

Chapter 70, 70th Beam of Light: "Bring her back."

"I've grown up, but you're still so young." Song Xingyun stroked the old photos one by one, sighing with emotion. Finally, her finger landed on Song Huazhang in one of the photos. "Dad, could you come see me in my dreams tonight and answer my questions?"

"Now, I've experienced both life and death, and both were incredibly painful..."

Song Xingyun stayed in the Song family's old house from sunrise to sunset. The house was well-maintained, just as Tang Huanxian had said, and it was perfectly habitable, but she still chose to leave.

After locking the door, she slowly walked to the intersection. Tang Huanxian's grocery store was still lit up. She pushed open the door and went in. The small TV inside was still playing local dramas. Tang Huanxian was dozing off behind the cash register.

"Welcome." The store's automatic door sensor announced. Tang Huan opened his eyes halfway. "Hello, what would you like to buy?" He fully opened his eyes when he saw who it was. "Is it Xingxing?"

Song Xingyun nodded and handed over the key. "Uncle Tang, may I continue to leave the key with you?"

She thought for a moment and then said, "You're getting old, so there's no need to go to the trouble of cleaning. Just take a stroll in every now and then to keep it from completely losing its life." She was afraid that Tang Huan would misunderstand and think she wanted to use him as free labor.

Tang Huan waved his hand first, "People need to move around to stay healthy, it won't take much effort! I'll definitely take good care of you! Are you leaving already?"

Song Xingyun nodded and then shook her head. "I'll stay at the Chang Le Hotel in town in a few days. I'll come see you again when I have time. It's getting cold, so please get some rest."

Thank you for today.

If it weren't for Tang Huanxian, she didn't know if she would have had the courage to step back in. Once inside, it didn't seem so unbearable. She thought maybe she had really grown.

Before leaving, Song Xingyun helped Tang Huanxian move the goods piled outside into the room. "It really warms up when you move around a bit," she said, showing her first genuine smile of the day. After saying goodbye to Tang Huanxian, she walked alone towards the Chang Le Hotel.

When she turned around, she saw Tang Huanxian still standing in front of the grocery store, seemingly watching her go. Regardless of whether he could see her or not, she waved to him and said goodbye again.

As Song Xingyun walked, she took out her phone and saw Wen Ying's reply to her on QQ. Her hands were cold at night, so she put on her earphones and made a video call to Wen Ying.

A moment later, Wen Ying's face appeared on the screen. "Xingxing!" she exclaimed with surprise. "I thought it would be a long time before I could see you again."

Song Xingyun smiled, "I was originally thinking of giving you a voice call, but I thought I'd better just go for it." Otherwise, knowing Wen Ying's personality, she would probably keep nagging until she hung up the voice call and switched to a video call.

Wen Ying pouted, "Wrong, the one-step approach is for you to come back and hug me, and then go to sleep."

Song Xingyun pretended to shiver from her greasy expression, then she turned the camera around to show her the night view of Changle Town, saying, "I grew up here."

Red lanterns were lit in every household, and the road was a little damp. She happened to walk onto the stone path, which prompted Wen Ying to say, "What a beautiful place! Take me there next time!"

Her words were sincere, not just offering emotional support. Song Xingyun hadn't expected her to come. "Okay."

Wen Ying "escorted" Song Xingyun back to the hotel via video call. She didn't ask if Song Xingyun had a fixed address in Changle Town, nor did she ask why she didn't go home. Only when Song Xingyun finally sat down to rest did she tell him, "Ying Qi called this morning after you hung up the phone."

Song Xingyun paused in rubbing her hands, which Wen Ying noticed. She quickly expressed her "loyalty," saying, "I'm a great actress, I didn't let anything slip, but he hung up the phone in a hurry and never called again. I didn't dare to go to Villa No. 9, so I don't know what's going on there."

Song Xingyun listened quietly. "Don't worry about me, it's alright." He must be very angry, right? Would he be less angry if he didn't see her?

She nestled into the beanbag chair in the hotel room. After chatting for a few more minutes, they ended the call. She took her laptop out of her suitcase and habitually opened her emails to check messages. She saw that several former colleagues from Yingmeng Comics Studio had sent her some compelling evidence. She carefully categorized the files, thinking, "It's not enough."

She still needed to gather more irrefutable evidence of Zhong Shichao's plagiarism and substitution, and the night gradually deepened.

Unlike the tranquility of Changle Town, the neon lights of the city were still flashing. In the private hospital, Yu Mushang was being wheeled into the operating room on a mobile hospital bed.

Ying Qi was waiting at the door. Just as the operating light came on, he heard footsteps behind him. He turned around and saw, "Oh my, what brings you here so late at night?"

It's Uncle Lin.

Ying Qi quickly went to greet him. As Uncle Lin spoke, his eyes were fixed on the operating room door. "I was very anxious at the old house. I wouldn't feel at ease if I didn't come. Did you get in smoothly?"

Ying Qi nodded and helped him sit down on a chair on the side of the corridor. "Are you relieved now? I'll keep watch here. You can rest for a while and I'll send someone to take you back."

Uncle Lin was very stubborn. "No, I'll wait here tonight. I'm old, I don't sleep well, and it's common for me to stay awake until dawn. I'm in very good health. If you don't believe me, take me for a full physical examination right now."

Yingqi: ......

"I'll send you there tomorrow!" Unable to persuade Uncle Lin, Ying Qi finally gave in, and the two of them, "grandfather and grandson," sat on the chair like that.

Perhaps it was the eeriness of the hospital at night, with occasional gusts of cold wind blowing in from somewhere, that made Ying Qi pull his coat tighter. Uncle Lin glanced at him and suddenly asked, "Tell me, did something happen today? Wasn't the surgery scheduled for tomorrow? Why was it moved up?"

In the evening, Ying Qi only told him that he would not be going back to the old house that night and that he should not wait for him, but did not explain the specific reason. Only after being pressed repeatedly by him did he find out that Yu Mushang was in the hospital preparing for surgery. Without thinking, he rushed over.

Ying Qi yawned and pretended to be sleepy, saying, "We only know how to execute the leader's decisions."

He couldn't lie, and Uncle Lin saw through him in a second. He slapped him on the head with such force that even if he was really sleepy, he would be woken up. "I don't believe a word of your bullshit. Tell the truth!"

Ying Qi covered her head, "I'm just telling the truth!"

Uncle Lin raised his hand, about to strike his head again, but he blocked it. Considering how close Uncle Lin was to them, he compromised, "How come you can't hide anything from me? Tell me, why are you still so smart at your age?"

"Stop joking around and get down to business." Uncle Lin had worked for the Yu family his whole life, and he had long since developed that kind of imposing manner. When he got really angry, even Ying Qi would be intimidated.

"Let me think about it." Ying Qi didn't know where to begin. He was also confused about what had happened today. In the end, he could only say what he knew, "A taxi driver called me this morning and said..."

He almost bit his tongue, regretting that he had been so honest and had brought this up. Finally, under Uncle Lin's intimidating gaze, he whispered as softly as a mosquito, "I said the boss was in a car accident."

"Car accident!" Lin Shu suddenly stood up, his vision blurred and he almost lost his balance. Ying Qi quickly supported him, "Don't worry, it's okay."

Uncle Lin took a breath. "Continue!"

Ying Qi helped him sit down again, "Then I rushed over and followed the ambulance to the hospital...the operating room."

Uncle Lin almost choked on his breath after hearing this. He pointed to the operating room door not far away and asked, "You mean this isn't the first time you've been in the operating room today?"

Ying Qi confessed everything, and as perceptive as Uncle Lin was, he immediately noticed something was amiss. "Where's Assistant Song?"

This question really hit the nail on the head, and it stumped Ying Qi. "Assistant Song, she resigned, it seems she's gone..."

Uncle Lin's expression also turned serious. Yu Mushang rarely acted so rashly. Being hit by a car while crossing the street was something that hadn't happened since he lost his sight. It seemed that the root of the problem lay with Song Xingyun.

Seeing that Ying Qi couldn't say anything either, he sighed, "Didn't you notice anything strange about the two of them?"

Ying Qi looked miserable. "I wasn't sleeping under their bed, how could I have found out..."

Uncle Lin wanted to slap him again, "It's too late to say anything now, just wait and see."

That night, some were sleepless, some slept soundly, and some had nightmares...

The lights in the operating room where Yu Mushang was located remained on until dawn.

Song Xingyun also had nightmares all night.

In her dream, Yu Mushang lay in front of the car, covered in blood, calling her name. She rushed over but couldn't touch him no matter what she did. She watched helplessly as the ambulance took him away. She chased after the car but couldn't catch up.

"Yu Mushang, wake up."

"Yu Mushang..."

The man on the bed suddenly opened his eyes, his vision blurred by white light. He gasped for breath, startling Ying Qi and Uncle Lin, who were keeping him company.

"Boss?" Ying Qi scrambled to her feet in a panic and immediately pressed the call button by the bedside.

Yu Mushang on the bed suddenly became anxious and agitated. He tried to break free from the medical instruments binding his hands and body, but Ying Qi held him down tightly. "Calm down, calm down, boss."

That's when the doctor rushed in.

After receiving a sedative injection, Yu Mushang fell into a deep sleep again, and the doctor began a series of detailed examinations on him.

Seeing that the situation had stabilized, Ying Qi and Uncle Lin breathed a sigh of relief. They watched the doctor's every move, and when they saw that the doctor had completely stopped, they quickly asked, "Doctor, how is the patient?"

After speaking with Samir, Yu Mushang's attending physician relaxed and showed his first smile in two days. "Things are moving in a positive direction!"

"I thought he would be unconscious for several days, but he woke up on the second day. I just checked his eyes with a flashlight, and they are responding to light!"

"Keep observing, don't worry, it won't be worse than before."

Hearing the doctor say that, Ying Qi immediately hugged Uncle Lin, "There's a great chance." When Yu Mushang came out of the operating room, the doctor told them that "the surgery went very smoothly." They still couldn't believe it. "If the boss can really see again, that would be wonderful."

Uncle Lin pushed him away, touched the Buddhist prayer beads in his hand and began to pray, "God bless, Master bless, let A Shang get through this tribulation."

To everyone's surprise, Yu Mushang didn't wake up until three days later. On the very day he woke up, the hashtag "Yu Group's Head in Accident, Now in Coma" went viral.

Ying Qi didn't expect that the real news couldn't be kept secret in the end. He was busy with public relations, but Uncle Lin told him not to worry, "I'll stay by your side every step of the way."

Ying Qi glanced at the injured man on the hospital bed and the old man sitting beside the bed, and he was very worried.

These past few days, Song Xingyun has been locking herself in her hotel room organizing the evidence she has collected. She had just finished compressing the first part of the files and had only relaxed for a few seconds when her gaze fell on the news notification that popped up in the lower right corner of her computer screen.

Her blood seemed to freeze instantly; her hands and feet turned cold, and her heart raced. With trembling hands, she tapped the link; the report contained only a blurry picture of an ambulance. She reached for her phone to call Wen Ying, but the line was busy…

"Calm down, calm down, Wenwen might already be finding out what's going on." Song Xingyun gripped her phone tightly, trying to convince herself.

A short while later, Wen Ying called. Song Xingyun had sent Wen Ying her new mobile phone number the day after she arrived in Changle Town, making it easier to make calls.

“Wenwen…you know him, he…” Song Xingyun couldn’t even finish a sentence.

Wen Ying could sense the panic in her voice even over the phone. "Don't worry, I know, I know." She contacted Ying Qi as soon as she saw the news report. "They're probably doing public relations too. I made more than a dozen calls before I got through."

"How is he?" Song Xingyun asked, her eyes quickly scanning the news report from beginning to end. The report stated the accident occurred a few hours after she left...

Wen Ying patted her chest on the other end of the line, "He's fine, out of danger." Afraid that Song Xingyun wouldn't believe her, she added, "Ying Qi said that Boss Yu woke up this morning, and his health is fine, but he needs to rest."

Upon hearing this, Song Xingyun's body, which had been holding on by sheer willpower, instantly went limp. She knelt on the carpet, panting heavily, "That's good, that's good." She instantly recalled the nightmare from that night, feeling immense pain.

"Wenwen, it's all my fault..." He had been in another car accident. Song Xingyun didn't dare to imagine how much damage this would do to Yu Mushang, but there was no turning back for her.

Song Xingyun gritted her teeth and tried not to think about it, continuing with her work. She submitted her information in the last five minutes before the registration deadline. It was for the new "Dream Cup". After completing the registration, she edited a message to a former colleague: "After I finish drawing, deliberately show it to Zhong Shichao. He will make a move."

She shut down her computer, closed her eyes, and rested for three minutes. Then, with mixed feelings, she took out her drawing board. The deadline for submitting her work for the "Dream Cup" was fast approaching, and she didn't have much time left. In addition, she was trying to numb herself with her paintbrush so that she wouldn't think too much about Yu Mushang. She had more important things to do: she wanted to prove herself.

*

"I'm not hungry." The man on the hospital bed, whose eyes were covered by a white veil, turned his head away and refused the porridge in Ying Qi's hand.

"No, you're hungry! You've been starving for days! Doesn't this IV fluid make you feel uncomfortable?" This made Ying Qi anxious. "My good boss, you're still very weak. It's rare that the doctor has approved you to eat some liquid food, so hurry up and replenish yourself! If you don't drink it, I'm going to call Uncle Lin."

Upon hearing the name "Uncle Lin," Yu Mushang took a couple of sips, and Ying Qi was satisfied. "How was it? I bought it from Babaozhai and waited in line for an hour."

She thought that saying this would make Yu Mushang drink even more heartily, but to her surprise, he turned his head away again, saying, "It's just so-so." Not as good as what she made...

Seeing that he couldn't get any more food into her mouth, Ying Qi said, "Tell me, what do you want? Although I did lie to you, you can't joke around with your own health." As she spoke, Ying Qi guiltily touched her nose.

He didn't know if Yu Mushang would still remember what he had said to him that day to rouse Yu Mushang's will... What did he say? He said he had found Assistant Song.

Thinking of this, Ying Qi quietly patted his own stubborn mouth, "When you're better, let's go find her, okay?" He coaxed her like a child.

Yu Mushang remained silent throughout, his face always turned towards the window. He asked, "Will I be able to see?" When he woke up, he was surprised to be able to feel light again, so he guessed that he had completed his eye surgery.

Ying Qi nodded emphatically, "The doctor said the bandages can be removed next week. My vision won't recover to its best immediately; I might need to wear glasses for assistance in the early stages..."

Ying Qi excitedly talked a lot, even imagining Yu Mushang regaining his sight and leading the Yu Group to dominate the world. But Yu Mushang's thoughts had already drifted away. He raised his hand towards the brightest place he could feel. After many years, it really seemed like he had touched the light again.

But where is that light in his life now?

*

One week later,

A large group of people surrounded Yu Mushang's hospital bed. Apart from Ying Qi and Uncle Lin, the rest were medical staff, and everyone had different expressions.

Everyone held their breath as the attending physician removed the gauze from Yu Mushang's eyes, round and round. He was being loosened, but the hearts of everyone present were being tightened.

After all the gauze was removed, the doctor asked cautiously, "How is it?"

Yu Mushang's eyes were still closed. He shook his head slightly, frowned, and squinted his eyes. This process seemed to take an eternity until Yu Mushang finally opened his already beautiful eyes completely.

He appeared to be looking from left to right, but everyone noticed that the place where his gaze fell seemed unfocused, just as empty as before, and their expressions all became serious.

"Boss, don't scare me..." Ying Qi waved her hand in front of his face, but Yu Mushang didn't blink at all as he got closer, and Ying Qi's heart sank.

The medical staff began to whisper among themselves, "Did the surgery fail again?"

“That shouldn’t be the case. Samir said the surgery was a success.”

"We shouldn't have let them leave so early. If Samir's team were still here, they could have tried to save him. But President Yu still can't see, what are we going to do?"

"Shh! Keep your voice down."

The attending physician was already drenched in sweat. "Mr. Yu, you..."

Before he could finish speaking, Yu Mushang suddenly looked up at him and said, "Why are you all so nervous? I'm just getting used to the light."

"I can see it, but it's very blurry." Yu Mushang said this casually, as if he were not the one who had been blind for many years and then regained his sight. Everyone was stunned.

Finally, everyone was brought back to their senses by Ying Qi's sudden burst of tears. "Boss, can you really see? Can you see me? Let me get closer." Samir had said that Yu Mushang's initial vision after surgery was based on the standard of 1,000 degrees of myopia. With proper care and more rehabilitation training, he would recover most of his vision.

After Ying Qi finished speaking, she moved closer to Yu Mushang, but in just one second, he pushed her away with precise hand, saying, "Stay away, you look ugly when you cry."

After he finished speaking, Ying Qi cried even louder, "You can see me now, it's worth it even if I cry ugly." After he finished speaking, he turned around and hugged Uncle Lin, who was quietly wiping away his tears, "Uncle Lin, he saw me."

Yu Mushang then turned to look at Uncle Lin. Although he couldn't see him very clearly, it was enough. He smiled at Uncle Lin and said, "Uncle Lin, you've gotten old."

Who would greet someone the moment they open their eyes by calling them old? Ying Qi felt both amused and exasperated by her boss's sharp tongue.

"Yes, look how old Uncle Lin is." Uncle Lin walked shakily toward him, gently hugged him, and patted him. "You've survived this ordeal. From now on, everything will go smoothly."

After giving some further instructions on care, the doctor left, leaving the three of them to their own devices.

Ying Qi was still crying uncontrollably. "I'm so happy. If Assistant Song knew you could see this, he would be happy for you too..." He stopped abruptly, covering his mouth. His crying stopped instantly, and he hiccuped several times. "I didn't say anything. I'll go find the doctor to consult on some nursing details."

After Ying Qi finished speaking, he took off running. Uncle Lin shook his head and patted Yu Mushang on the shoulder, "That kid is just reckless like this. Don't take it to heart. Look forward."

Yu Mushang was no longer as flustered as he had been on the day of the incident. He calmly replied, "I'm fine."

After so many days, Uncle Lin finally asked him, "So, little girl, you know about what happened back then, right?"

Yu Mushang's gaze fell on a blurry window in the distance, his tone devoid of emotion, "I guess so."

"Uncle Lin, don't worry about me. I'll eat well and focus on my rehabilitation. After all, I still need to go and bring her back." He raised his voice slightly as he said this, his words firm.

Yu Mushang hasn't changed. Once he's made up his mind since childhood, nothing can change it. Uncle Lin sighed, "Fine, handle it yourself. Just don't hurt yourself again. My old heart can't take any more of this."

After listening to the doctor's instructions, Ying Qi returned to his ward and received an order from Yu Mushang to bring his computer to the hospital. "Boss, your eyes need to rest."

Yu Mushang looked around the ward with curiosity, and finally pointed to the calendar on the bedside table. "I know, but the product line meeting scheduled for today can't be canceled."

Yingqi: ......

He reluctantly left the ward again, thinking, "A workaholic is a workaholic, he won't stop working just because he's in the hospital."

When Ying Qi walked out of the hospital, the sun was shining brightly. Although the winter sun was like the sensor light in a refrigerator—bright but not warm—he still stretched contentedly. "I'm seeing the light of day again!" He thought. If he hadn't come out, he would have been soaked in the smell of disinfectant from the hospital.

As soon as Ying Qi returned to the entrance of Villa No. 9, she saw Wen Ying crouching outside, peeking furtively. "What are you doing?"

Upon hearing the voice, Wen Ying immediately stood up straight. "I didn't do anything. I just came to check on Changming."

Ying Qi carefully examined the person in front of her, who was wearing a wide-brimmed hat, black sunglasses, and a white mask. "Are you sure Changming can recognize you when you're all bundled up like this?"

Wen Ying took off her mask, put her hands on her hips, and said, "Of course, our long-lived noses are very sensitive."

Ying Qi had already opened the door. "Come in." He took two steps, then suddenly stopped and turned around. Wen Ying bumped right into him. "You! You hugged me on purpose!"

Ying Qi raised her hands in a gesture of surrender, "Don't talk nonsense, who knew you were following me so closely."

His position made it convenient for Wen Ying. Without hesitation, she wrapped her arms around most of his body. "Don't be shy! I'm very generous, a hug is fine."

Ying Qi's face turned a deep shade of liver. "Wen Ying! You! Show some restraint, get out of here."

"No way!" Wen Ying hugged him even tighter, ignoring the man's stiffness. Her hands continued to wander over his back, muttering, "Such tempting back muscles..."

Yingqi: ......

He shoved her away abruptly, saying, "Don't be a pervert." Afraid she would move forward again, he grabbed her slender arms through her clothes to prevent her from advancing, and quickly asked, "Tell me honestly, where did Assistant Song go?"

Upon hearing this question, Wen Ying became much more honest, her eyes darting around. "I don't know! I was hoping you could help me look for it!"

Ying Qi didn't believe it. "If you really didn't know, would you still have the leisure to flirt with me here?"

Wen Ying looked even more guilty, inwardly regretting not taking off her mask earlier. She stubbornly insisted, "Anyway, I don't know anything, so don't ask me."

I thought Ying Qi would make trouble, but to my surprise, he coolly agreed, "I won't make things difficult for you."

"However, your performance shows that Assistant Song is safe now. Alright, go see Changming."

After he finished speaking, he turned and walked into the house. Wen Ying reacted and followed him. "You won't make things difficult for me? Are you serious?"

Ying Qi responded lazily. He was thinking of finding Song Xingyun's location after the boss was discharged from the hospital. After all, he was afraid that he might have to pay the price of "lust" if he tried to get Wen Ying to talk.

He quickly entered Yu Mushang's studio, tidied up his usual office tools, and when he came out, Wen Ying was squatting at the entrance of the sunroom, playing with the Hundred-Year-Old, muttering to herself, "Has he not come back to feed you guys? Why do you all look thinner?"

When Wen Ying saw him come out, she looked up and asked, "Um... how is your boss?" She had prepared herself mentally before asking, and she had tried her best to make herself not seem like she was deliberately asking for information.

"Asked for Assistant Song?" Ying Qi thought. When he left the ward, Yu Mushang specifically instructed him to keep the matter of his newfound sight a secret for the time being, so he simply pointed to the large bag in his hand and said, "It's all good. Look, the workaholic is ready to get to work."

Wen Ying nodded, her gaze sweeping over his face several times. Just as Ying Qi was about to start wondering if there was something on his face, Wen Ying's face scrunched up. "And you? Are you alright? You've lost weight too."

Ying Qi was taken aback by the worry in her words. His heart and head felt itchy, and he scratched them. "I'm fine, nothing's wrong."

In the past, Wen Ying would have definitely pestered him with a lot of questions, but today she was very well-behaved and sensible. "That's good. If you don't have time to feed Changmingbaisui, how about I take it back and raise it for a few days? I guess it's not convenient to give the key to outsiders here."

Ying Qi looked down at her fluffy head and couldn't help but smile. "Then take them back. I won't let you raise them for nothing. When I pick them up, I'll settle the custody fee with you at the market price."

Wen Ying looked up and glared at him. "Fine, give me three times the amount!" After she finished speaking, she got up, put ropes on Changming and Baisui, and left without saying goodbye.

Yingqi: ?

"Where did I say something wrong?" He chased after him. "I'll take you home."

That night, when Song Xingyun was submitting her manuscript, she received the "good news" from Wen Ying, and the anxiety she had been feeling for the past few days was finally relieved.

Everything was proceeding according to plan. As expected, Zhong Shichao used the draft that was 80% complete. She looked at the final draft she had just submitted, her smile devoid of warmth. "Let's put an end to this."

This year's "Dream Cup" adopted a mechanism of professional judges' voting and online public voting, with real-time live streaming of vote changes. Anyone who wants to rig the process needs to consider the consequences.

This time, Zhong Shichao didn't use many backdoor methods, probably because he had great confidence in his work.

In the studio,

"Director Zhong, are you really not going to give the judges any 'guidance'? Although there are two voting rounds this time, the professional judges still have the most weight."

Zhong Shichao stubbed out his cigarette. "No need. I doubt those people would dare to step forward. This time, the top spot in the Dream Painting Cup is definitely mine."

*

"Report your achievements over this period of time." Although the background of Yu Mushang's video conference was a hospital, and he himself was still wearing a hospital gown, it did not prevent the participants from feeling a chill down their spines as soon as he spoke.

Ying Qi was initially confused, "Boss, didn't you say you wouldn't disclose your vision recovery to the public yet?"

But Yu Mushang remained calm, "I've been blind for so many years, do you think I wouldn't pretend to be blind?"

Yingqi: ......

"That makes a lot of sense."

Throughout the meeting, he kept marveling at his boss's masterful ability to feign blindness. However, this meeting was also the best public relations opportunity for the Yu Group, as the "wolves" that were originally about to pounce on him suddenly stopped making any moves.

After the meeting, Ying Qi exclaimed, "Boss, that was a brilliant move! Let all those who spread rumors that you're in a vegetative state see this!" He felt a surge of satisfaction as he looked at the flood of new press releases online.

"Who said I was putting on a show for them?" Yu Mushang replied, stirring his porridge with a spoon.

Ying Qi's mind just wouldn't work at crucial moments. "If it's not for them, then who is it for?" After asking the whole question, the answer appeared in his mind. He chuckled awkwardly twice and then started frantically piling food onto Yu Mushang's plate. "Eat more, eat more."

Yu Mushang remained silent, making it impossible for anyone to guess his thoughts.

A slender hand was slowly clicking and sliding the mouse beside the computer. The screen light shone on Song Xingyun's beautiful face. She zoomed in and out on the photo on the screen. "He's lost so much weight."

She stared at the photo of Yu Mushang in a meeting on the Yu Group's homepage, unwilling to close it...

She only switched to the email interface to read it when her computer notified her of a new unread email. It was from an unfamiliar sender, with no message, only an attachment—a compressed file.

"Could it be a virus?" Song Xingyun hesitated between opening and closing the email, but when she saw the attachment's extension, her pupils contracted slightly. "Maybe it's just a coincidence..." She finally opened the email attachment, which contained a long string of documents.

At the very top was a video, in which a real person appeared to prove Zhong Shichao's violations over the years, and presented a lot of evidence documents, including several audio recordings of conversations. She confirmed that it was indeed Zhong Shichao's voice. The paper evidence presented in the video also had scanned versions, and Song Xingyun's eyes lit up when she saw them.

"But this girl looks familiar," Song Xingyun watched the video repeatedly, finally exclaiming in surprise, "It's her..."
