Inside the dark building, Zhang Jiachang huddled under a desk in an office, trembling with fear, tears streaming down his face, but he dared not utter a sound.
For Zhang Jiachang, everything that happened in the building tonight was like a nightmare from which he could never wake up.
He was an ordinary employee at Tianhe Industrial, with low wages and endless overtime.
Even when they don't have work, his idiot manager will force them to work overtime so he can brag to the board about how hard-working his team is.
Tonight is no different. Even though there's no work to do, everyone is staying in the building to work overtime, making it look like the building is brightly lit and everyone is rushing to finish.
Zhang Jiachang was so bored that he decided to go downstairs to buy coffee, but as he was getting off the elevator, he suddenly remembered an urban legend he had seen on a forum.
That is, in the elevator after midnight, whether going up or down, once you reach the 18th floor, immediately take a deep breath and then press the buttons for the following floors in succession: 4, 1, 4, 7, 3, 1, 4, 4. Hold your breath and wait, and the elevator will appear on a non-existent floor, where you will see something unimaginable.
For some reason, Zhang Jiachang had a very clear memory of this legend, so he figured he had nothing better to do and followed the steps in the legend.
But I didn't expect that.
After he pressed those floor buttons on the eighteenth floor.
The elevator began to plummet rapidly, faster than Zhang Jiachang had imagined, arriving at the fourth basement level almost instantly.
Zhang Jiachang's eyes widened in shock as he entered the elevator.
He had worked at Tianhe Industrial for several years and knew this building better than anyone else.
The entire building has never had a fourth basement level!
He frantically tried to press the elevator buttons, but there was no response.
Suddenly the elevator doors opened, but it was pitch black outside and there was no light at all.
Zhang Jiachang shakily turned on his phone's flashlight and shone it outside, but the light seemed to be swallowed up, and he couldn't see any trace of anything.
Just as Zhang Jiachang was hesitating whether he should wait in the elevator or go into the darkness to check, he suddenly realized that there was someone next to him!
It was a woman dressed in red.
Her clothes were blood-red and without any patterns. Her hair was long and reached her waist, but her pale arms were frighteningly long, almost reaching her knees.
The person opposite was standing in the corner inside the elevator, their face obscured, their body twitching slightly as they slowly turned toward Zhang Jiachang.
Zhang Jiachang's lips trembled as countless terrifying images flashed through his mind. He turned and ran outside.
But he regretted it as soon as he left.
The outside world seemed like a boundless ghost realm, with buildings from various eras and countless terrifying monsters roaming around.
Inside the shed in front of the tin-roofed house, a tall, obese monster with a hideous pig's head was chopping up human corpses.
Several monsters, each three meters tall, with distorted and twisted faces, were playing a cozy game.
There are also ancient Taoist temples here, but there are no Taoist priests inside, only a group of zombies jumping around.
Zhang Jiachang looked up and saw something vaguely floating in the dark sky.
He shone his phone light on it and realized that it was actually a series of human heads! They were staring at him with eerie smiles!
At this moment, Zhang Jiachang was so scared that he almost wet himself and ran back to the elevator in a panic.
The woman in red had disappeared from the elevator. Zhang Jiachang frantically pressed the elevator buttons, and the elevator slowly went up.
But he didn't notice that there were several dark figures in the elevator besides himself.
Upon returning to the building, before Zhang Jiachang could even react, the power to the entire building was instantly cut off.
The eerie woman in red, the zombie dressed in Qing Dynasty clothing, the three-meter-tall monster, and other ghostly creatures all roamed the building, slaughtering the building's employees.
Although Zhang Jiachang was hiding under the table, he could clearly feel the hopping sounds coming from all around him.
He held his breath, forcing himself to stop trembling, tears of terror streaming down his face.
Zhang Jiachang watched helplessly as a pair of rotten, worn-out cloth shoes with sharp toes darted past his desk.
He breathed a slight sigh of relief, but before he could finish exhaling, a rotten, grotesque human head with a mouthful of rotten teeth suddenly fell down and appeared in front of Zhang Jiachang!
The zombie couldn't bend over, but it simply lowered its head and pounced on him upside down!
Zhang Jiachang let out a shrill scream, but the next moment, the zombie was picked up and punched into pieces!
Yang Cheng frowned as he looked at Zhang Jiachang, who was still crying.
The ghosts in this building are generally not strong, but they pose a great threat to ordinary people.
He went up several floors but didn't see any living people; they had all been killed by these ghosts.
They finally encountered such a guy and seemed to be terrified.
Yang Cheng had no interest in comforting him, and even if Zhang Jiachang were a beautiful woman, Yang Cheng would not be interested.
Therefore, by using his spiritual travel ability to probe out a trace of the other party's spirit, Yang Cheng forcibly suppressed the other party's spirit and forced him to stabilize.
"Tell me, what exactly happened inside this building? Why did it turn out like this?"
Zhang Jiachang felt as if his nerves had been strangled. He was terrified and wanted to cry his heart out, but he couldn't cry at all, and his emotions remained surprisingly calm.
After telling Yang Cheng what had happened, Yang Cheng gently shook his head.
