Chapter 518 "Demigod" Wood

"That bastard Noynes! A short dwarf! A reptilian who breeds from inbreeding! A filthy, disgusting goat-headed monster when he transforms!"

He did it on purpose! He absolutely did it on purpose!

'Demigod' Wood smashed a beautiful porcelain piece from the Western Continent with a vicious rage, cursing vehemently.

Compared to Noyce's short, ugly appearance, 'demigod' Wood, although also a king of the underworld, was much better looking than Noyce.

Wood was in his thirties, tall and imposing, with a handsome and dashing face, long golden hair like the sun, wearing a suit of golden plate armor and a dazzling red cloak.

This appearance doesn't resemble that of a king of the underworld at all, but rather that of a royal prince of the Assyrian Kingdom.

But at this moment, Wood's princely face was contorted with rage, clearly showing that he was furious to the extreme.

When he heard the news from outside, he knew that Noynes was definitely plotting against him.

Now all the pressure is on him. Whether he hands over Andrew or not, he will be the one who suffers.

But Noynes's scheme was an open one, and he couldn't do anything about it.

Moreover, Wood believed that the guy's strength must be extremely terrifying.

Otherwise, Noynes wouldn't have been willing to embarrass himself just to portray the other party as so powerful.

If he could easily defeat his opponent, Noynes would never have said that; otherwise, he would have lost even more face after the battle.

"Where's Andrew? Bring him here!"

Andrew Quinnil was indeed one of his men, but Wood barely even remembered him.

He had many men under his command, some powerful and others capable of doing things for him, but Andrew was just a small businessman and tomb raider, and the amount of tax he could pay each month was limited, so Wood certainly wouldn't remember him much.

A moment later, Andrew was brought up.

The Andrew that Yang Cheng had been searching for was actually quite ordinary.

He had changed drastically from his forties to a short, thin man dressed in drab clothes covered in grime, looking no different from the lowly people who mingled in the underground city.

Andrew, who was brought up, looked completely panicked.

From the moment he heard that a powerful figure had broken through half of the dungeon to find him, Andrew had been completely bewildered.

He genuinely didn't know why he had gotten involved with such a powerful figure.

Wood looked down at Andrew, his voice icy: "Tell me, what exactly is it about that powerful man named Yang Cheng who came to see you?"

Andrew quickly replied, "My lord, I really don't know!"

I've never met such a powerful person before; heaven knows why he sought me out.

Wood scoffed, "You don't even know you, yet you'd fight your way through half the dungeon and even beat the King of the East, 'Black Devil' Noynes, half to death?"

Andrew asked cautiously, "Could it be that you've mistaken me for someone else? After all, there are quite a few people in the entire underground city who share the same name as me."

"Noynes has already described all the characteristics of Andrew that Yang Cheng is looking for. In the entire underground city, who is more suitable than you?"

Andrew, I've protected you for so many years, are you still going to hide it now?

"If it weren't for my protection, you would have been torn to shreds by those dark sorcerers who sacrificed themselves to evil gods!"

"Your Honor, I'm innocent! I truly have no idea what that powerful figure wanted with me!"

Wood stared at Andrew, his brow furrowed.

He could tell that Andrew wasn't lying; he genuinely didn't know why Yang Cheng had contacted him.

But how could such a nobody be connected with the powerful figure who worshipped Noynes?

Just then, someone rushed in to report.

"My lord, Yang Cheng has already arrived outside the palace!"

Wood snorted coldly: "Lock this guy up here and don't let him leave."

After saying that, Wood picked up a golden heavy sword and prepared to go and meet Yang Cheng.

At this moment, Yang Cheng was standing outside the palace of 'demigod' Wood, curiously looking at the building in front of him.

The underground world of St. Brand is extremely deep, but not high.

Except for some key locations, most of them are only a dozen meters high, and even some huge air-raid shelters do not exceed 100 meters.

Wood's palace, however, stood directly at the top of the underground world, entirely constructed of white bricks and stones, resembling a temple or a royal palace, and was extremely magnificent.

Wood, clad in plate armor, emerged from the palace surrounded by a group of knights and gazed at Yang Cheng.

“I know why you’ve come here. Andrew is in my palace right now. He should be the person you’re looking for. I’ve got him under control.”

Yang Cheng's eyes lit up, and he exclaimed, "Thank you so much. If everyone were so easy to communicate with, I wouldn't have had to fight my way up to this point."

He genuinely felt that this 'demigod' Wood was quite good; he was decisive and efficient in his work, much easier to talk to than that Night Raven or Noynes.

Wood then added in a deep voice, "But no one can take my men away from me, Wood!"

I can't be bothered with what Andrew, that traitor, did behind my back, but he was once my subordinate and paid a lot of taxes for me.

If I let him be taken away by you like this, I won't be able to explain it to you.

"Alright then, since you've produced ten thousand gold kal, I'll let you take Andrew with you."

Knowing that Yang Cheng possessed the power to easily defeat Noynes, Wood was naturally unwilling to engage in a fierce battle with such a mysterious and powerful figure.

As he walked out, Wood suddenly had an idea and thought of how to deal with Yang Cheng.

If letting Yang Cheng take Andrew away easily is not an option, and doing it myself is also not an option, then let Yang Cheng pay some price to take Andrew away.
