Chapter Four: Overbearing

Ruan Feng's body twitched slightly at an odd angle on the boxing ring until it came to rest.

The entire boxing ring at the Dragon City Championship instantly fell silent, completely still.

The Dragon City Championship has been underway for a few days now, and some newcomers have already emerged.

After all, there are so many triads in Hong Kong, and quite a few skilled fighters, but Yang Sheng, an unknown nobody, is the first to take down a double-flower red stick.

And this kid was so ruthless, he actually killed Ruan Feng.

Just then, a middle-aged man from the British Associated Press, with slicked-back hair, gold-rimmed glasses, and a grey suit, who looked more like a lawyer than a triad boss, suddenly stood up and pointed at Hung Shing Lian with the hand holding a cigar.

"Fuck your mother, Hong Shenglian!"

"Who gave you the guts to kill my lead horse?"

Uncle Chang, the head of Hong Shenglian's martial arts school, looked a little pale, but he still stood up, leaning on his cane, and coldly snorted:

"Luo Rong, life and death are irrelevant in the boxing ring. In the past few days, Ruan Feng has been knocked out in the Dragon City Championship. Why haven't the others come looking for trouble?"

"I'm of the same generation as Chai Jiu, the head of your British Associated Press. Who gives you, a junior, the right to yell at me?"

The difference in strength between Hung Sheng Lian and the British Associated Press is like night and day.

The man in front of me is Law Wing, the Mong Kok chief of the British Associated Press, and Yuen Fung is his right-hand man.

Although he was just one of the leaders of the British Associated Press, Luo Rong's strength was enough to wipe out the entire Hong Sheng Lian.

But Uncle Chang was, after all, the head of Hong Sheng Lian. If he were to be obsequious and subservient when someone pointed their finger at him and berated him, he would lose all face for the entire Hong Sheng Lian and would be unable to survive in the underworld.

Just then, the old man in the long robe who looked like a referee suddenly snorted coldly: "Luo Rong, don't cause trouble here!"

Both sides have already signed a waiver of liability, so in the boxing ring, victory or defeat is up to man, and life or death is up to fate.

Have you forgotten all the rules of the Dragon City Championship? Or is your British Associated Press trying to withdraw from the Dragon City Championship?

Luo Rong seemed to be quite wary of the old man in the long robe. Upon hearing this, he snorted coldly and turned to leave with his men.

As Yang Sheng stepped off the stage, the way Hong Shenglian's underlings looked at him changed.

With a touch of reverence and excitement.

Most of the underlings in sunset gangs like Hong Shenglian lack energy and spirit. Most of them join the gang just to get by, and it's common for them to be looked down upon by other gangs.

But now, Yang Sheng, representing Hung Shing Lian, has defeated the Vietnamese tiger Nguyen Phong in front of all the triads in Hong Kong. This has greatly boosted their morale and even made these underlings feel a sense of pride.

However, Di Wei frowned when he looked at Yang Sheng, and the three elders of Hong Shenglian also stared intently at Yang Sheng with gloomy expressions.

Yang Sheng has information about the three elders of Hong Shenglian in his memory.

The eldest brother, Uncle Chang, is the most senior member of the family. He is nearly sixty years old this year. Dressed in a white Tang suit and leaning on a cane, he looks like a kind and benevolent gentleman of the peace.

He was able to become the head of the gang mainly because his father was the previous head of the Hung Shing Lian gang.

Therefore, many elders supported him when he was vying for the position of leader, which made it easy for Uncle Chang to obtain the position.

The other two were in their fifties, tall but hunched over, with dark complexions.

He is Uncle Qiang, one of the three elders, and his nickname is Fisherman Qiang.

Fisherman Keung was originally a fisherman. Later, he joined Hung Shing Lian and used a harpoon to help Hung Shing Lian establish a foothold at the Sai Kung pier, making outstanding contributions.

However, as Fisherman Qiang grew older, his years as a fisherman, often soaking in the icy seawater, and the injuries he sustained while fighting for the gang left him unable to fight for more than ten years and he retired to the background.

The other was a thin, elderly man in his fifties or sixties, wearing a suit and gold-rimmed glasses.

He is Huang Wen, the "white paper fan" of Hung Shing Lian. He has been helping the gang manage various finances since he was young, and now he controls the financial lifeline of Hung Shing Lian.

In Yang Sheng's memory, these three old guys were no good.

They are timid and hesitant in dealing with external affairs, but they always act like seniority and use their seniority to suppress others, so that almost no young people in the entire Hong Sheng Lian have a chance to stand out.

As one of the oldest triad societies in Hong Kong, the fact that it has fallen into such a state is largely due to the incompetence and actions of the three elders of Hung Shing Lian.

Facing the three elders, whose expressions were somewhat gloomy, Yang Sheng suddenly grinned and said, "Old Ding, I have not failed you."

Huang Wen frowned and said, "The Dragon City Championship is the home ground of those big gangs. As long as our Hong Sheng Lian doesn't embarrass ourselves too much, we'll be fine."

"You acted so ruthlessly, actually killing a double-flowered red-pole member of the British Associated Press. Do you know how much trouble you've caused the organization?"

Yang Sheng spread his hands, looking innocent, and said, "Uncle Wen, swords and knives have no eyes, and fists and feet are merciless. If I don't kill him, he will kill me."

"Does this mean I have to get beaten to death by Ruan Feng in the ring for me to avoid causing trouble for the gang?"

Seeing that Yang Sheng still dared to talk back, Huang Wen frowned, and Uncle Chang coughed and said, "Let's talk about it when we get back, so that outsiders won't laugh at us."

The Dragon City Arena continued, but Hong Shenglian and his group left early.

Hung Shing Lian's branch is located in Wan Chai, on a small street, and is considered one of Hung Shing Lian's few remaining branches.

If the entire triad were to be relocated to an industrial area like Kwun Tong, then Hung Shing Lian would truly become the lowest-ranking, most rotten triad.

Yang Sheng looked up and saw that the entire hall was quite impressive.

It was a four-story wooden ancient building, entirely black and red, with the four large characters "Hong Sheng Wei Yuan" written on the plaque above.
