Chapter 14: Holding an Umbrella

"Since the flowers in the garden are so beautiful, why don't you come here and take a look?" Mu Hengshi stared at Song Qingmo coldly. That guy was actually gloating and laughing at him. It turned out that his usual concern for him was all fake.

"No, no, I've seen enough. It's getting late now, so I'm going back to sleep. Bye." Song Qingmo looked at Mu Hengshi's gloomy face and immediately ran back without further entanglement. Mu Hengshi was still staring at Song Qingmo. Song Qingmo saw that Mu Hengshi was still staring at him, and his steps were sparking.

"This, this Song Qingmo, although he treated you badly those days and even forcefully kissed you, this is too immoral. You can't do this. You said he was kneeling, shouldn't you go up and show some concern? If you do this, how can you be worthy of your so-called brotherhood?" Song Qingmo returned to the room and immediately rolled around on the bed, muttering to himself. He thought of Mu Hengshi, who had just been discharged from the hospital and was still kneeling in the garden. Song Qingmo felt that he still needed to show some concern. Even if he didn't care, he couldn't just watch the joke. And he was discovered by Mu Hengshi. Now Song Qingmo rolled around on the bed in embarrassment, hugging his quilt.

Song Qingmo was still going crazy when he heard the sound of rain outside. The rainy season in the capital is during these months, and it has been raining frequently in the past few days. He didn't expect Mu Hengshi to be so unlucky. It seemed that God was bullying him.

"Oh no, Mu Hengshi is still kneeling. It looks like this won't end well today. I have to go help him." Song Qingmo looked at the heavy rain that was about to fall and Mu Hengshi still kneeling, and immediately became anxious. He immediately found two umbrellas, opened them and rushed out.

When Song's father and mother in the villa saw their son looking so anxious, they did not object immediately. They just told him to be careful and not to catch a cold by getting wet.

When Mu's father and mother stared at Mu Heng through the floor-to-ceiling window, they felt a little distressed, but for the sake of their own prestige, they still had to make their son kneel. If he regretted it now, it was still not too late.

But even when the rain got heavier, Mu Hengshi was still kneeling with no intention of compromising.

"In that case, then kneel down. I wonder how long this tough bone of his can last." Mu's mother was distressed and angry, but she finally hardened her heart. He looked at Mu Heng with a look of disappointment.

The Mu family's front door was locked, and Song Qingmo decided not to ring the doorbell. He looked at the low wall and immediately made up his mind to climb over it. The villa's door was wet with rain, looking even darker, like a prison gate, isolating the prisoners from the outside world. It was also a bit slippery, but for Song Qingmo, this was nothing. He fixed his hands firmly on the door frame, then pushed hard with his feet and flipped over. He picked up the umbrella he had thrown before, opened it, and ran in the direction of Mu Hengshi.

Mu Hengshi's clothes were already wet, and he hadn't eaten today, so his face was pale and his body was shivering slightly. The temperature difference between day and night in summer was still too large. Although it was sunny and windy in the morning, the temperature was only eight or nine degrees at night, which made Mu Hengshi, who was wearing thin clothes, even more uncomfortable.

Mu Hengshi, still forcing himself to stay awake, remained kneeling. He heard a noise at the villa's gate. Looking toward it, he saw a young man in a light blue velvet shirt and white silk trousers, holding a navy blue oil-paper umbrella. He rushed toward him amidst the drizzling rain. His face was slightly flushed from the previous exercise, and a look of worry hung over his face. His flesh trembled as he ran, his brows soft. His arrival seemed to bring light back to the dark night, as if a god had descended upon the earth, shattering the darkness. And he was running toward him.

Song Qingmo usually likes things with ancient style and charm, so when he is at home, he often wears retro clothes, and today is no exception. He finally ran to Mu Hengshi's side, handed the oil-paper umbrella to Mu Hengshi with his hand, and then opened the other umbrella he brought with him. He was in a hurry and did not notice that Mu Hengshi did not take the umbrella, but let the navy blue oil-paper umbrella fall on the lawn. Mu Hengshi just stared at Song Qingmo with an anxious look on his face. The raindrops fell on Song Qingmo's shirt, soaking his clothes. Some water drops restlessly dripped on his forehead, flowing down Song Qingmo's face into his neck. Mu Hengshi just looked at Song Qingmo like this.

"Hey, why don't you have an umbrella?" Song Qingmo moved his open umbrella towards Mu Hengshi, then picked up another umbrella. Then he made a move - he also knelt beside Mu Hengshi. Song Qingmo gestured with his hands that if two umbrellas were held open, rain would leak in. He simply held up the sky-blue umbrella, then moved closer to Mu Hengshi, stretched out his hand between the two of them, and held up this small world that would not be exposed to the rain.

"Why are you doing this? Why are you kneeling with me? Why are you holding an umbrella for me?" Mu Hengshi looked at Song Qingmo and felt his throat tighten. His heart felt like it was hit by something, just like an effervescent tablet soaked in water, with bubbles rising. He wanted to hug the boy in front of him and draw warmth from him. In fact, Mu Hengshi did just that. Mu Hengshi hugged Song Qingmo, who was holding the umbrella, tightly.

Mu Hengshi rested his head on the base of Song Qingmo's neck, and his breath fell on Song Qingmo's neck. Song Qingqing felt itchy and wanted to push Mu Hengshi away, but he felt that Mu Hengshi's body temperature was very low, and then there was a slight sobbing sound from the tip of his nose. He stopped and patted Mu Hengshi to comfort him: "We have been childhood friends for so many years. How could I watch someone die if I saw something like this? I will kneel with you, and then I will ask Aunt Mu for mercy. Maybe you only need to kneel for a month to solve the problem. Don't worry, I am still quite loyal and will definitely not watch you suffer alone. You are all wet. Why don't you hold this umbrella and I will go to your house to get you some clothes?"

"No, I don't want you to. Just let me hold you for a while." Mu Hengshi whispered. He didn't want Song Qingmo to leave him. Song Qingmo's body was so warm. Even though it was a little wet from the rain, the boy's sincere and passionate chest was still so hot on him. He was greedy for the warmth of Song Qingmo and didn't want to let him go.

"Oh, all right then." Song Qingmo steadied the umbrella, then secured their space, ensuring the rain wouldn't reach them. Just like that, the two teenagers knelt in the rain, hugging each other, each holding their own. A barrier seemed to form between them, blocking even the patter of rain. The atmosphere they created together made it seem as if only the two of them were alone in the world. The difference was that Mu Hengshi's heart was quietly changing, yet he remained completely unaware.
