Chapter 6: Breakup on the balcony?

Mu Hengshi returned to the Mu family and greeted his parents when he saw them. Then he went straight up the stairs. "Come back! You haven't even had dinner yet and you're already upstairs. How did you even greet us? When did you become so rude?" Mu's mother scolded Mu Hengshi. As the heir of the Mu family, he must be polite and abide by the rules, and not be as rude as he is now and hide his thoughts.

Father Mu was not surprised by this scene. After all, he and Mu Hengshi were father and son, and he knew some of Mu Hengshi's habits. Mother Mu only knew how to be strict with Mu Hengshi and never understood her son's heart. She only wanted to make him more perfect. Her control desire was too strong, and there might be a gap between them in the future. When Father Mu spoke, Mu Hengshi took the lead and said, "I'm sorry, mother. I was wrong today. Can I go up now?"

Mu's mother was also silenced by what Mu Hengshi said. She stopped blaming him and let Mu Hengshi go up by himself.

Mu Heng looked towards the window. Opposite was Song Qingmo's room. Ever since Song Qingmo decided to become good friends with him on his own initiative, he moved his room to the opposite side of his. His house was not far from Song Qingmo's house, less than 50 meters away, so he could now clearly see Song Qingmo's room. There was a balcony outside the room. There were many flowers planted on the balcony, and there was a cushion. It looked like Princess Barbie's castle.

Mu Hengshi didn't understand why a boy would decorate his room in such a childish way. But his eyes were still fixed on the room behind the balcony. Today, he suddenly looked forward to Song Qingmo yelling at him and chatting with him on the balcony as usual. Even though he was silent the whole time, he felt inexplicably comfortable and at ease listening to his words. The fatigue of the day also disappeared without a trace as Song Qingmo kept nagging at him. How could there be such an annoying person in the world? Mu Hengshi thought to himself, but still smiled.

He was wrong today. Should he go find Song Qingmo and apologize to him later? Someone thought to himself, although he usually ignored him, but today he seemed to have gone too far. If he didn't apologize, what if Song Qingmo ignored him? When he thought about this, a chatterbox would no longer have his eyes on him and would never speak to him again. He felt inexplicably uncomfortable in his heart. Then he would just apologize later, Mu Hengshi thought in his heart, planning how to apologize to Song Qingmo later, but his eyes were still fixed on the balcony, without moving a moment.

Song Qingmo had finished his meal. His mother's cooking skills were good today and the meal was indeed delicious. Song Qingmo's worries were reduced by half. Returning to his room, he was surprised to find that the light was on in Mu Hengshi's room. The high school entrance exam was coming soon. That guy was too eager. He started reading so early? Should he go to greet Mu Hengshi and harass him like he did every night? But then he thought again, he and Song Qingmo had broken up today, and he was not that thick-skinned, so forget it. Song Qingmo was entangled in his heart for a long time.

Song Qingmo didn't know that Mu Hengshi had already seen it when the light in his room was turned on. He was now leaning against the window, listening quietly to Song Qingmo's movements.

Mu Hengshi waited a long time, but there was still no movement from the other side. Unable to resist, he poked his head out and looked towards Song Qingmo's room. He and Song Qingmo locked eyes, their breathing lights stopped, their hearts pounding. Then, blushing, they both turned their faces away. "Ahem!" Mu Hengshi feigned a few coughs to ease the awkwardness. He was about to apologize to Song Qingmo, but Song Qingmo beat him to the punch, saying, "Mu Hengshi, I was wrong today. I accidentally bumped into you. Can you please not be angry? If you really don't like me, then..." Song Qingmo mustered up his courage. His mother was right. Mu Hengshi disliked him, so he really shouldn't bother him anymore. Furthermore, those people today had called him a "licker." Song Qingmo didn't understand what that meant, but he felt they weren't saying anything nice. He decided it was time to change the status quo. After all, he didn't need to have a friend; being alone was fine. He made up his mind and said what he hadn't said yet, "Then I won't bother you anymore. Let's not be friends anymore, or even just one-sided friends. I was wrong about what I did before. I won't do that again."

Mu Heng was nervously waiting for Song Qingmo's next words, but he was unexpectedly hit hard. He suddenly wanted to run to the Song family, pull Song Qingmo aside, and tell him that it was not like that, that he was not annoyed with him, and that they had actually been friends for a long time.

He looked nervous and said what was in his heart, "No, I'm not annoyed with you. I just want to listen to you. I'm not ignoring you. Please don't ignore me. We are still friends." But are he and Song Qingmo really just friends?

When Mu Heng realized he had said this, his ears flushed, his face unnaturally reddened, and his expression became unnaturally evasive. He simply closed the window and leaned against the wall in shame. His hands clenched unnaturally. How could he have said what was in his heart?

"You, you, what did you say? Wow, God, that's great! Mu Hengshi, if you had told me earlier that I would break up with you, and you would have admitted that you and I were childhood sweethearts, then why would I have gone to so much trouble? It turns out that you like to play hard to get. You finally admitted that I am your friend." Song Qingmo happily jumped on his balcony. The flowers on the balcony seemed to hear how happy their owner was, and they also danced along with Song Qingmo's jumping. These flowers are really smart. They even know that I am in a good mood. Song Qingmo's face was full of pride. These are not my flowers. In fact, it was just that Song Qingmo jumped too hard and made his balcony vibrate.

"Shut up. Stop talking." Mu Hengshi breathed a sigh of relief, but also felt very shy. He quickly told Song Qingmo to shut up. Song Qingmo made a zipper-shaped gesture to show that he understood. So far, the unpleasantness between Mu Hengshi and Song Qingmo ended with this heartfelt confession.

That night, Song Qingmo and Mu Hengshi both felt much more relaxed when they went to bed, their day's frustrations finally dissipating. Song's parents, on the other hand, couldn't be happier, because their son's voice was so loud they'd heard it all and didn't know what to say. However, they were relieved that both Song Qingmo and Mu Hengshi had confided in each other, at least they no longer had to watch their son's unhappy, sullen face.

Mu Hengshi felt much happier. He even went to bed early today and forgot to read. In his dream, he saw Song Qingmo sitting on his balcony, happily swinging his long, white legs. He then greeted him and listened to him chattering about the day's fun events. Mu Hengshi, who was sleeping soundly in bed, smiled.
