Chapter 15: Snacks She Had

Chapter 15: Snacks She Had

Su Ying sneered, "You make it sound simple. If it were that easy, I wouldn't have gone through all this hardship. Tell the eldest prince to either send someone to pick me up immediately or I'll quit."

After saying that, Su Ying didn't dare to give the other party a chance to speak, and turned and left.

From the appearance of this person, it can be seen that Xiao Jue should not have given up on her as a chess piece, but because of the loss of memory, she completely forgot what Xiao Jue wanted her to do. But she could guess with her toes that this matter must be related to Xiao Jin.

But Xiao Jin was a half-dead exile, what could Xiao Jue want from him?

The man looked at Su Ying's leaving back, his expression gradually becoming gloomy, "Why does this idiot look different?" In the past, whenever they mentioned the eldest prince, she would be willing to do anything like a fool, but today when he mentioned the eldest prince, she didn't react at all.

A man walked out from behind the man and sneered, "We've suffered so much along the way, even a fool would have figured it out. Since she's useless, we can only do it ourselves."

"It's not like we haven't attacked Xiao Jin before, but who would have thought that he could kill our people even though his legs were broken? He is an evil ghost. It won't be that easy for you to attack him."

The other party sneered, "Then catch his bastard, make him surrender, and make him hand over that thing!" When they took action before, they thought that Xiao Jin would have no killing power because his leg was broken, so they didn't take the two children into consideration at all. Now, those two bastards can be used as sacrifices.

When Su Ying was about to reach the city gate, she saw Li Da tiptoeing towards the street corner. When he saw her coming, he breathed a sigh of relief. After all, Su Ying's identity was somewhat special. If she really ran away and something happened in the future, he would not be able to escape responsibility.

After he calmed down, Li Da looked at her. She was carrying only a few bags, so he had no idea how much of the more than two thousand taels of silver he had spent.

As Li Da was examining her intently, he suddenly felt a chill on his neck, and his eyes met Su Ying's eyes that were as deep as a cold pond.

Li Da was startled and quickly suppressed his dangerous thoughts.

He was really capable, he actually dared to covet the money in her hands!

"It's getting late, let's leave the city."

Su Ying followed the officials out of the city and changed into her own tattered clothes before returning to Xiao Jin and the others.

Xiao Jin glanced at the pot on her back and his eyebrows twitched suddenly.

Bai Shuang was also surprised to see Su Ying coming back with a lot of luggage, "Princess, why did you let the officials buy so many things?"

On the road to exile, some prisoners who hid silver could give some money to the officials when they arrived at the town and ask them to help them carry some things. The officials could get some benefits from it. Basically no one would refuse such a simple favor and they would help buy the goods as long as they were not dangerous goods.

"Well, it's not comfortable to eat dry food all day, so I bought some cooking utensils and came back to see if there is a chance to improve the food."

Su Ying really bought a lot, and what she held in her hand was only a small part.

Xiao Jin saw that her tiger skin was gone and guessed that she must have exchanged it for silver, otherwise she would not have so much money.

After the officials had stockpiled all their supplies, they assembled and prepared to set off. Looking at the weather, they were afraid that it would rain again soon, and if they didn't set off now, they would be caught in the rain again.

Su Ying carried all the bags to the front and carried Mother Zhao on her back.

Before dark, they arrived at the foot of a mountain and could see a village shrouded in thick fog in the distance.

Su Ying looked at the stone tablet that was tilted at the entrance of the village. The red paint on it had faded so much that the words could not be seen clearly, which showed that this village had been abandoned for a long time.

Sure enough, when they walked into the village, the weeds at the entrance were almost as tall as a person.

Li Da sent someone to check the situation in the village. Soon the official came back and said that there was a large pig farm in the village, which was probably used to raise livestock in the past. Because livestock were valuable, the pig farm was built more solidly. Even though there is no one in the village now, the pig farm can still provide shelter from wind and rain.

However, the pig farm could not accommodate hundreds of people, so most of the people had to be placed in the pig farm, and the rest were divided into two groups and placed in larger farmhouses.

Su Ying and her friends were assigned to a farmhouse. This farmhouse should have belonged to a wealthy family in the village. The courtyard walls were still made of blue bricks, and the houses inside were also well preserved and could provide ample shelter from wind and rain.

Su Ying carried Mother Zhao into the house. There was only a table with missing legs and a dusty bed in the room. The dust on the bed was as thick as half a palm. One could imagine how long the village had been vacant.

She asked Bai Shuang to clean the plank bed briefly, then put Mother Zhao on the bed and put her bag aside.

Xiao Jin and the others also followed into the house, along with a dozen other prisoners. They all found a corner and sat down.

Xiao Jin asked Jiang Yang to put Dabao, who was still unconscious, on the bed so that he could lie more comfortably.

Erbao walked to the bedside, lay on the bed and looked at Dabao eagerly, "Daddy, when will my brother wake up?"

Xiao Jin wiped her little face and comforted her: "Brother will wake up soon, Ling'er, don't worry."

Erbao nodded ignorantly and said, "My brother's wound hurts. Ling'er, blow some air on him and it will stop hurting." As he said that, he puffed up his little face and blew air on Dabao.

Xiao Jin looked at his well-behaved daughter and his heart softened.

Su Ying took out a cow paper bag from her bag, opened it, and waved for Erbao to come over.

"Come here, Ling'er, see what delicious food I brought you."

Erbao turned around and saw the snacks in Su Ying's hand and his eyes widened.

Ever since she was exiled, she hasn't been able to eat any snacks, let alone hot meals. The temptation of snacks is too great for her!

But even though he wanted it very much, Erbao still subconsciously looked at Xiao Jin.

Xiao Jin's cold eyes fell on Su Ying without moving, and Su Ying understood immediately.

She picked up a piece of dessert and put it in her mouth, then raised her eyebrows at Xiao Jin provocatively, "You bastard, you think she would poison the dessert?"

After seeing Su Ying eating some snacks, Xiao Jin nodded to Erbao.

Erbao then happily ran to Su Ying with his short legs, looking at her with his big elk-like eyes.

Su Ying put the whole bag of snacks in her hand and said, "Take it and eat it. They are all yours."

Erbao couldn't help but cheer, her big eyes sparkling. She held the snack in her hands, tilted her head and thought for a while, then picked up a piece of snack with her little hand and tiptoed to Su Ying's mouth, "You eat it."

Su Ying looked at how hard she was working, smiled, squatted down, opened her mouth and took a bite of the dessert.

When Erbao saw her eating, he smiled so much that his big eyes curved into crescent moons.

Su Ying took one bite and stopped eating, "Okay, I've already eaten, the rest is Ling'er's."

Erbao ran back to Xiao Jin with the snacks in his arms, satisfied, and put the remaining snacks in his hand to his mouth, "Daddy, eat too."

Xiao Jin knew that the child was sensible and she would be unhappy if he didn't eat, so he didn't think much about it and opened his mouth to eat the snack in her hand.

"Is it delicious, Daddy?"

Xiao Jin nodded, "Okay."

Erbao smiled and said, "She just took a bite and said it was delicious."

Xiao Jin's face froze, and he suddenly remembered that Su Ying seemed to have taken a bite of that dessert just now...
