Chapter 358 The Day of Retribution

Chapter 358 The Day of Retribution

The woman looked a little flustered at first, but soon calmed down after she sensed no malice from Su Ying.

"I wonder what your Madam wants?"

Su Ying took out a small piece of silver from her pocket and handed it to her, "Take the silver and rent a carriage on the street to go to Prince Qi's mansion. Ask the housekeeper of Prince Qi's mansion to bring people here immediately and say that it was Su Ying who asked for it."

The woman didn't expect that Su Ying could easily manipulate the people in Prince Qi's mansion. Her eyes changed when she looked at Su Ying. She took the silver and said solemnly: "Madam, don't worry. I will definitely bring the person back."

After saying that, Su Ying signaled to the old woman to open the door for her and let her out.

Zhang Shuming knew that Su Ying was bored today and went out to join in the fun on the street. He was the one who booked the seat in the teahouse. However, he was a little curious as it was already past noon and why Su Ying had not returned yet.

Just as he was thinking about whether to send someone to look for him, he saw a carriage parked outside the palace.

A strange girl got off the carriage.

There was a hint of wariness in Zhang Shuming's eyes, and he looked at the woman with more vigilance.

The guard saw the woman approaching and stepped forward to stop her, "No one is allowed to approach the Prince Qi's mansion."

Upon seeing this, the woman knelt down immediately and said, "A lady asked me to come here. She asked me to tell the housekeeper to bring someone with me."

Zhang Shuming was a little confused when he heard this, "What Madam?"

The woman thought about Su Ying's features and briefly described her. She then added, "She is very skilled."

The last sentence made Zhang Shuming immediately conclude that the lady she was talking about was Su Ying.

Zhang Shuming called the woman over and asked her about the whole story. Zhang Shuming roughly understood what Su Ying meant by asking him to bring people over.

He selected a few guards with excellent martial arts skills and followed the woman away personally.

When Zhang Shuming arrived, Su Ying was sitting in the main house of the courtyard, listening to the girls explain their life stories one by one.

Zhang Shuming walked into the room and bowed to Su Ying, "Princess."

Su Ying glanced at him and asked, "Did the girl explain the matter to you clearly?"

Zhang Shuming said: "I have a general understanding of it."

Su Ying nodded slightly, "These girls were all captured. You can take a few of them who have families to the government to report the case and keep a record of the crime."

Zhang Shuming responded, "Then the rest..."

"The rest will stay here for now. The other party comes to trade once every two weeks. They don't have anywhere else to go anyway, so they'll just wait here to avoid arousing their suspicion. When the time comes, you can arrange your own food and accommodation."

"Princess, do you want to play the long game and catch a bigger fish?"

Su Ying chuckled, "That's right, what's the point of catching some small fish and shrimps? Just think of it as a good deed to accumulate merit for yourself."

Zhang Shuming wanted to say that this was indeed a simple matter for Su Ying, but for these captured women, that was their entire lives.

"The princess is kind-hearted."

Su Ying's smile deepened, "You are right."

Zhang Shuming was an efficient man. He immediately found pen, ink, paper and inkstone to record the information of these women.

Su Ying's eyes swept across the crowd and fell on the old woman. "Old lady, what is your relationship with that group of people?"

The old woman opened her eyes numbly, "This is my home. Since there is no one at home, I rented out the other rooms. I didn't expect they were doing that kind of business. I wanted to report to the police, but they found me and beat me up. I was scared, so I stayed in the yard to watch over the door. I live to see the day when they get their comeuppance."

A look of sadness flashed in the old woman's eyes.

"Where are your family members?"

"Ni'er is gone, and the old man is gone too, both killed by those beasts. I have no ability to avenge them, so I'll just live to see the day they get their retribution." The old woman said, raising her cloudy eyes to look at Su Ying, "Are you the Princess of Qi?"

Su Ying nodded, "Yes."

The old woman's cloudy eyes turned slightly red. She knelt down in front of Su Ying and kowtowed to her, "Please, Princess, severely punish those evil people who deserve to die."

"You showed them the door for so long, but you didn't see any flaws?"

The old woman raised her head and said, "They were also on guard against me. I tried to save people before, but was almost discovered, so I never dared to do it again. However, I registered some of the people they captured in a book. I showed it to the princess."

She stood up tremblingly and walked into a small room, from which she took out a notebook.

The notebook looks a bit old. When you open it, you can see different handwritings on it.

"These were all written by the captured girls themselves. The old woman couldn't read, so she told them to write down their situations, as they might be useful someday."

Su Ying flipped through the booklet in her hand. There were information about hundreds of women on it. She learned from the old woman that this was not all. These were the ones she thought of recording afterwards, and the previous ones were not included.

"This booklet is very important. You have put your heart into it."

Su Ying put the booklet away, walked into the house and came to Mingyu.

Mingyu was terrified when she learned that Su Ying was the Princess of Qi. She never thought that she would be so unlucky and her target would be the Princess of Qi.

"Princess, please spare me. Princess, please spare me."

"If you want to live, cooperate obediently, understand?"

Mingyu nodded, “Yes, yes.”

Su Ying reached out and pulled Mingyu's collar. Mingyu felt a slight pain in her neck and looked up at Su Ying in horror.

Su Ying snapped her fingers, and Mingyu felt an indescribable pain in all her limbs, almost killing her.

"Remember the pain you are feeling now, otherwise I'm afraid you won't obey me."

"Princess, please spare me, please listen, I will obey you..."

Su Ying gently snapped her fingers, and the pain quickly faded away.

Mingyu fell to the ground like a puddle of mud, gasping for breath.

Su Ying turned and walked out of the house, leaving the rest of the matters to Zhang Shuming.

"Is the princess going back home?"

Su Ying looked at the sky and thought that if she went back now, she should be able to get there before dark. She would have to go to the shop another day. "Well, let's go back first."

"I will send the carriage to take the princess back right away."

Xiao Jue was rescued by someone, which made Emperor Kangze furious.

"This rebellious son is going to rebel against heaven!" Emperor Kangze was so angry that he swept all the memorials on the dragon table to the ground.

"Your Majesty, please calm down. After the people were rescued, I and others immediately had the city gates sealed. The people must still be in the city now."

"Send more troops to search, and bring that rebellious son back to me."

"yes."

After the Minister of Justice left, Emperor Kangze asked everyone in the imperial study to leave.

The moment the palace door closed, he came to the heavy bookshelf and gently turned a jade Pixiu on the bookshelf.

There was only a slight "click" sound, and the bookshelf slowly moved away, revealing a dark hole.
