Chapter 179 Delivery

Chapter 179 Delivery

After taking a bath, Su Ying returned to the room and found Xiao Jin writing something on the table. She walked over curiously and took a look. It seemed that there was some kind of figure drawn on the paper. "What is this?"

"How to set up the maze." Xiao Jin looked up and said.

"maze?"

"Well, in order to prevent the Tiger Camp from being discovered by outsiders, I plan to set up a formation outside the camp and include this area in the protection range."

In fact, the location of the Tiger Camp is relatively hidden. If they had not been brought to the Tiger Camp by those people who collected passers-by, they might not have been able to find this place smoothly.

However, one more layer of protection means one more layer of safety. Su Ying still supports Xiao Jin's plan to set up a formation.

"Okay, this range is just right. If it's a little bigger, it will arouse suspicion from outsiders."

"right."

Su Ying yawned as she spoke, "I'm tired. I'm going to sleep."

She walked to the bed and lay down, and the two little ones immediately crawled into her arms.

"Mom, do you miss Ling'er?" Erbao raised his little head from Su Ying's arms and looked at her expectantly.

"Of course I do. Does Ling'er miss my mother?"

Erbao nodded like a little chick pecking at rice, "Yes, I really do."

Su Ying pinched Dabao's little face again, "Ji'er, do you miss your mother?"

Dabao's little face showed no obvious expression, but his eyes were sparkling. He looked at Su Ying and said in a baby voice, "I do."

"Does mother miss father?"

Xiao Jin, who was about to lie down on the bed, pricked up his ears.

"Yeah, that's what I thought." Su Ying said after pondering for a moment.

She thought back to how she felt after leaving Tiger Camp. It seemed that apart from wanting to quickly restock supplies and sell the charcoal, she really didn't think about anything else.

However, looking at the expectant eyes of the two treasures, she nodded reluctantly.

Xiao Jin's eyebrows unconsciously lifted up, and when he lay down on the bed, there was a smile on his face.

Su Ying was humming a strange but melodious tune. Her voice sounded particularly deep and pleasant in the darkness. The brother and sister fell asleep to the sound of her humming.

The mountain wind swept away the dark clouds, the golden light broke through the dawn, and Su Ying woke up to the crowing of a rooster.

When she opened her eyes, she heard the sound of three little kids reading from upstairs. Their sweet and soft voices lifted Su Ying's spirits and made her feel comfortable all over.

After Su Ying got up and washed, she ran to the barn in the backyard. A rough count showed that they had twenty or thirty cows and sheep, twenty or thirty pigs, and even more chickens, ducks, and geese.

She looked at her property with satisfaction, and the more she looked, the happier she became.

"Ma'am, why do you get up so early? Can't you sleep a little longer?" A woman wearing a headscarf walked out of the pigsty, carrying a large bucket of pig manure in her hand.

Su Ying took a look and saw that it was Li Laosan's wife, Mrs. Hu. They were short-handed a while ago and could not handle everything, so Mrs. Jiang asked Mrs. Hu to come and help look after the livestock.

Mrs. Hu is a diligent and capable person who takes good care of the livestock every day.

But now that there are so many more livestock, I'm afraid Hu can't handle it all by herself.

"Come over when you've had enough sleep. If I can't take care of so many animals, I can get a few more people to come over."

Mrs. Hu said, "It's okay, ma'am. There's not much work to do. Just sweeping and feeding. I can do it by myself."

With so many livestock, it would be tiring for Mrs. Hu to take care of them all by herself, but Su Ying had done a favor for their family and gave Li Laosan a job so that they had the opportunity to fill their stomachs. So no matter how tiring the work was, she would grit her teeth and persevere. Besides, it was not in vain. Mrs. Jiang would give her some food every day when she returned home, so she was already very content.

Su Ying saw that although Mrs. Hu looked thin, she was still in good spirits, so she said, "Aunt, do it first. If you can't do it, I'll find two more people to help."

"Okay, I won't try to do it if I can't."

Hu put the pig manure aside, and Jiang would send someone over to take the manure to the wasteland to fertilize the soil.

"Oh my, why is this cow's belly so big? Is she about to give birth?"

Su Ying was about to leave when she heard Hu's low call. She turned around and walked back.

She almost forgot that when she was buying the livestock, an old man said that the cow he was selling was pregnant and would give birth soon. If it weren't for her grandson being sick, he would not be willing to sell the pregnant cow. She remembered that the price of this cow was indeed higher than others.

"Is the cow about to give birth?" Su Ying arrived at the cowshed and saw a cow lying on the ground with a big belly, looking very bad.

They had driven these animals back with great difficulty, and Su Ying didn't want anything to happen to them, so she opened the door of the cowshed and walked in.

"Can Auntie deliver a cow?"

Hu said with some difficulty: "I have never operated this before."

Su Ying saw the cow lying on the ground in pain, its body twitching from time to time, and guessed that it was about to give birth.

"Moo!"

When the cow saw Su Ying and Hu approaching, it started to cry out anxiously. Perhaps because it was unfamiliar with both of them, the already excruciating pain made it even more frantic.

Su Ying thought for a moment and stood up and said, "Aunt, just watch it first and don't scare it. I'll be back soon."

Su Ying turned around and left the cowshed, then went to a secluded place and entered the space.

She had no experience in delivering a cow, so she could only come in to look up information.

After looking through the information, she found what she needed in the space and then returned to the cowshed.

Moo!

The cow looked even more painful, probably because of a difficult birth and she no longer had the strength to give birth.

Su Ying put on gloves and walked behind the cow to comfort her: "Don't worry, I'm here to help you."

"Moo!"

It was not known whether the cow understood Su Ying's words or it no longer had the strength to struggle, and it did not move when Su Ying approached it again.

Su Ying reached into the cow's body and grabbed the calf's front hoof. When the cow's body began to cramp, she slowly pulled the calf out along with the cow's movements. After the calf was pulled out a little, she tied the calf's front hoof with the prepared rope and handed the rope to Hu.

"Auntie, hold it. You can pull it when I ask you to."

"good."

Su Ying reached out and pushed the cow's belly. When the cow suddenly exerted force, Su Ying asked Hu to pull hard.

The two of them accompanied each other like this, one in front and one behind, and after almost two quarters of an hour, a calf was finally born.

After the calf was born, the cow fell to the ground exhausted and lay motionless. Su Ying quickly fed the cow the grass soaked in the prepared nutrient solution.

After Su Ying dealt with the calf, she and Hu left the cowshed. Both of them were covered in dirt.

When Bai Shuang walked into the shed, she saw Su Ying and Hu walking out covered in blood. She screamed in fright.
