Chapter 7 Stomping on a Head

Jiang Si stopped in her tracks, feeling a chill on the back of her neck.

The owner of that voice was breathing on her neck.

"Thank you for the compliment, I also think I smell pretty good."

The person behind him spoke in a hoarse voice, swallowing hard: "You smell so good, give me a bite, you smell so good."

So they're treating her like food.

That's truly courageous and deserves praise.

"Okay, I think you taste delicious too, let me have a bite."

As soon as Jiang Si finished speaking, she suddenly turned around and saw a tall man with his mouth open in a strange arc, preparing to bite the back of her neck.

She swung the metal chain wrapped around her hand, encircled the man's neck, pulled him along, and with a spin, landed behind him.

He kicked the man from behind, sending him slamming into his seat. Then, he yanked the metal chain back, jerking the man's head back and shouting, "What are you?"

This thing is not human.

Not only did he treat her as food, but when the metal chain wrapped around his neck, he twisted his neck as he struggled.

If you're human, your neck simply can't turn back.

"You smell so good! Let me take a bite, let me take a bite." The imprisoned man couldn't understand Jiang Si's words, felt no pain, and opened his mouth, drooling.

Jiang Si frowned, tightened her grip on the metal chain slightly, and heard a click.

She broke the man's neck.

But the man could still make a sound: "Let me take a bite, let me take a bite, just one bite..."

"Zombies?"

Jiang Si's expression changed drastically. Only zombies in the apocalypse, with their necks broken and heads cut off, could still walk on their limbs.

To verify her suspicions, she removed the metal chain from the man's neck and manipulated it like a blade, stabbing it towards his heart.

With a soft "poof".

The black blood from the man's heart splattered onto her face.

The rotting smell of blood was like the smell of zombie blood.

The metal chain flicked at the man's heart, revealing a crystal-clear, round bead about the size of a thumb.

They really are zombies.

Jiang Si held the crystal-clear bead and took a step back.

Just then, the zombie that had its crystal core removed flipped over, its fingernails suddenly growing longer, its severed head lolling to one side on its shoulder, a bloody hole appearing in its forehead.

From within the blood-soaked hole came the sound of chewing.

Jiang Si took a step back with her right foot, her eyes fixed on the bloody hole in the zombie's forehead, her furrowed brows growing increasingly tight.

This zombie has been upgraded.

wrong.

Besides the crystal core in his chest, there was something else in his brain.

What could it be?

Jiang Si dragged the metal chain that was hanging on the ground and shot it at the bloody hole in the zombie's forehead.

With a bang.

The metal chain hadn't even reached the zombie's forehead yet.

The zombie's forehead exploded.

Jiang Si covered her face with her hands and retreated swiftly like a startled swan, avoiding getting the zombie's blood and brains splattered on her face.

"Let's go, let's go, hurry to the escape pod."

A hurried male voice rang out from afar.

Jiang Si looked toward the source of the sound and saw a young soldier wearing an Imperial Army combat uniform holding a small, smoking laser gun.

In other words, the person who just blew the zombie's head off was him.

"Bang!" Moore fired another shot and shouted anxiously to Jiang Si, "Hurry up and get to the escape pod!"

“It’s too late.” Jiang Si’s pupils constricted, and she said sharply, the metal chain in her hand seemingly having eyes, lunging at Mo Er.

Moore was horrified and instinctively tried to shoot her, but in that instant, he felt a powerful mental force envelop him, rendering him unable to move or pull the trigger.

Just when he thought his head was about to explode, the metal chain, imbued with powerful mental energy, crossed his shoulder and attacked his back.

Jiang Si moved like a ghost, flashing to Mo Er's side and pulling him behind her. The metal chain in her hand strangled the zombie's head.

The zombie's head fell to the ground.

Jiang Si lifted her foot, then stomped it down, crushing it instantly.

The worms in her head were also crushed without her knowledge.

He then swiftly ripped the crystal core out of the zombie's heart and stuffed it into his pocket.

"What are these things?" Jiang Si casually dealt with two, then turned to Mo Er and asked, "How many are there on this spaceship?"

Moor's mouth dropped open as he recovered from his shock: "These are people parasitized by the Zerg. There are 20 known to have been infected so far."

Who is this girl?

As one of the adjutants of the commander-in-chief of Agares, he had never heard of anyone in the empire besides the commander-in-chief of Agares whose mental and physical strength was so powerful that he could crush the head of a Zerg parasite.

A person parasitized by the Zerg?

So they are like evolved and upgraded zombies; even after the crystal core is dug out, they can still move freely and won't die.

"Where are the others?" Jiang Si wanted crystal cores. In the apocalypse, these were the currency and helpful for cultivating spiritual power.

Moore blurted out, "These are the ones we couldn't stop in the ship's hangar, and they came up here."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Si immediately ran towards the spaceship's hangar.

Mohr followed closely behind, his heart pounding. Whose child in the Empire was this? He looked so thin, yet he was so strong.

On the way from the passenger plane cabin to the warehouse.

The place was a complete mess.

Several soldiers in combat uniforms dealt with the Zerg parasites that had escaped and quickly moved towards the warehouse.

Jiang Si arrived at the warehouse and saw several soldiers using laser guns to blast the warehouse door.

The gate remained unmoved despite being bombarded.

She strode forward and said, "Make way."

The soldier who was banging on the gate stopped abruptly.

Then a thin, beautiful girl with waist-length black hair and blood on her face raised her foot and kicked open the warehouse door that even laser guns couldn't blast open.
