Houshan Village
On the way back, Li Ping'an was worried. The three of them seemed to have talked a lot this afternoon, but there was no useful information. Although Li Ping'an said that she would wait for him to come to find her, if she really waited until then, who knows how many people would die?
On the way back, there were always blind evil ghosts rushing towards Li Ping'an. After Li Ping'an eliminated them, he felt that it was not the runes of the sword that were worn out, but some of the evil ghosts had really become stronger, which made Li Ping'an even more worried.
When she returned to Aunt Lin's house with a frown, she found Du Xin and Sheng Lin standing at the door waiting for her. They all breathed a sigh of relief when they saw her come back.
Aunt Lin's house didn't have many rooms, so Li Ping'an and Du Xin shared a room. Li Ping'an was wearing Aunt Lin's clothes. When Li Ping'an finished washing up and was lying on the bed playing with his phone, he heard the sound of the bathroom door opening. He raised his head and took a look. It was Du Xin who came out of the shower. Water was still dripping from her hair, and she was covering her exposed arms.
Du Xin was sitting there blowing her hair when Li Ping'an suddenly came to her side and touched the scar on her arm with his hand, "Does it hurt?" No wonder she always wore a black sun protection sleeve.
Du Xin was startled. She turned off the hair dryer, looked at the hideous scar on her right arm, and shook her head. "It doesn't hurt anymore."
Li Pingan patted her shoulder and said, "Keep blowing your hair. It's still wet."
Logically speaking, she and Du Xin had not been together for long, and since they shared the same bed, she would definitely not sleep too deeply. However, unexpectedly, not long after lying down, Li Pingan fell asleep, and she did not open her eyes until the rooster crowed the next morning.
Du Xin was already up, sitting on the bed fiddling with her phone. Noticing Li Pingan was awake, she glanced at her and asked, "Did you have a good dream last night?"
"What?" Li Ping'an didn't understand why she asked this.
"When I got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, you were smiling." He almost scared her out loud, "What kind of dream did you have?"
Li Pingan tried to recall it, then shook his head and said, "I don't remember."
"Forget it, it's just a dream, get up quickly." After all, he was a guest at someone else's house, and it would be inappropriate to get up late.
When she left the room, she found that Aunt Lin was not there. Only Yiyi was drinking porridge with a bowl in her hand. When she saw Li Pingan coming out, she smiled at her. Li Pingan touched her head and asked, "Where are the others?"
Yiyi pointed outside with the hand holding the spoon, "Mom went into the house to get something, Dad and the others are out."
As soon as Yiyi finished speaking, Li Fang came out of the house, holding something in her hand. Li Pingan smiled at her and nodded, "Where did Aunt Lin and the others go?"
Hearing Li Ping'an's words, Li Fang paused, "I heard that something happened in Houshan Village, so they all went to see it."
Li Ping'an nodded and planned to follow to see what happened, but was suddenly pulled by Li Fang's clothes. Li Ping'an looked at her with confusion on his face.
Seeing Li Pingan looking at him, Li Fang gritted his teeth and stamped his feet, and whispered to Li Pingan, "Master, can you sell me some more talismans?"
"symbol?"
"Don't worry, the price will definitely satisfy you." As she said that, Li Fang took out the wrinkled talisman in her hand. Li Pingan took a look at it. Isn't this the one she gave to Yiyi before?
Li Ping'an didn't know how to draw talismans. She had gotten these talismans from Jiu Qi. After giving away the last handful, she didn't have many left. She pretended to dig in her pocket, but actually took out a few from her storage bag and put them in Li Fang's hand. "What's the money? Also, you don't have to call me Master. I asked others for these talismans."
Hearing this, Li Fang squeezed Li Ping'an's hand and asked, "Ask who can buy it?"
"Uh, he is not in this world." Li Pingan was not lying. As for Li Fang's misunderstanding that he was dead, it was not Li Pingan's fault.
Li Fang was a little disappointed after hearing what Li Ping'an said, but she still bowed to Li Ping'an several times to express her gratitude.
Li Pingan quickly helped her up and was about to go out with Du Xin. When he reached the door, he turned sideways and looked back. Li Fang was half squatting in front of Yi Yi, stuffing the talisman she had just given her into Yi Yi's pocket. As if she was afraid that it was not safe enough, she put another one into her trouser pocket.
Li Ping'an stopped, took out a bell, walked back and put it in Yiyi's hand, "This bell has been blessed, it can definitely guarantee Yiyi's safety." This bell was given to her by Elder Shi before she left.
After saying that, without waiting for their reaction, he quickly walked out the door.
Du Xin watched the whole process from the side and came up to Li Pingan, "Master?"
"Master, please give me a talisman too." He winked.
Li Pingan pushed her face away with one hand, "Why are you joining in the fun?"
Houshan Village, Li Ping'an only remembered a rough direction. He could go directly through the mountain or take a detour. In order to save time, Li Ping'an decided to go directly through the mountain.
The deeper they walked, the more trees there were and the thicker the grass became. Intermittent and extremely weak sounds of "An An, An An" reached their ears.
Li Pingan's face turned cold, and she stopped. After whispering to Du Xin not to move around, she followed the sound and came to a big tree. When she saw the person behind the tree clearly, Li Pingan's eyes widened. She really couldn't imagine that the person behind the tree was her.
Compared to the first time Li Pingan saw her, she was in a very miserable state now. Her clothes were tattered, half of her face was burnt and carbonized, the other half was covered in blood, her right arm was broken, and her two feet were twisted in strange directions.
"You, how did you become like this?"
Seeing the shock mixed with a hint of worry in Li Ping'an's eyes, Sister Hua suddenly smiled. The corners of her mouth curved up to touch the carbonized half of her face, and black powder kept falling down. "I finally waited for you."
"You ask me how I became like this?"
"What good can you get from trying to get the skin of a tiger?" What's more important is that Sister Hua broke up with him and tried to steal his things.
Seeing that Sister Hua was about to die, Li Pingan hurriedly searched for pills, but Sister Hua stopped her and said, "You are still so easy to be happy."
"But don't look for it anymore. I can't survive."
As she spoke, Sister Hua raised her left hand with great effort and pulled off a string of dim pearl necklace from her neck. "If I say this, it will definitely make me look shameless, but I'm thick-skinned, so I don't care."
"Would you do me a favor? Take this necklace to my daughter and if she's dead, just throw it into the lava."
Realizing that Li Ping'an was about to speak, Sister Hua swallowed the blood in her throat with all her might, "I won't let you work in vain. I will tell you everything I know."
"Are you looking for a man?"
Li Ping'an nodded, feeling a little worried. After all, Sister Hua looked like she would die at any moment.
"You've seen him," Sister Hua said, and she couldn't help coughing. After taking a breath, she continued, "He's the man wearing a mask on the ship, his name is Bai Mu."
After hearing what Sister Hua said, Li Ping'an remembered that the profile of the man in the video that Du Xin showed her yesterday looked extremely like the masked man.
"I don't know Bai Mu's origins, nor do I know what he wants to do to your world. I only know that he acts very casually, based entirely on his mood. He has many props and many hidden cards in his hands."
Li Pingan listened to Sister Hua's words, thought of Bai Mu's actions on the ship, and swallowed his saliva. "Do you know what his weakness is?"
When Sister Hua heard what Li Ping'an said, she smiled bitterly, "If I knew his weakness, would it turn out like this?" She couldn't even get close to Bai Mu. If she hadn't revealed her trump card and escaped, she would probably be gone now.
Sister Hua looked at Li Ping'an and said, "Run! They won't survive, but you might be able to escape."
"No," Li Pingan shook his head vigorously, "Impossible, I won't give up on them."
Seeing this, Sister Hua suddenly laughed, as if mocking her, but not at Li Pingan, but at herself, "I hope you are on the right path."
Sister Hua's breathing suddenly became rapid, her eyes widened, and she held Li Ping'an tightly with her left hand, stuffing the pearl necklace into Li Ping'an's hand. "Please, tell Minmin that Mommy is wrong."
After saying this, Sister Hua became motionless, with her eyes wide open. Before Li Ping'an could help her close them, her entire body turned to ashes and disappeared without a trace in the blink of an eye.
Li Ping'an was left alone squatting on the ground, holding the pearl necklace in his hand.
Since this man was the one on the ship, it meant Jiu Qi must know him. Li Pingan returned to the forest path and walked towards the back mountain village with Du Xin. He lowered his head and opened his mobile phone to make a video call to Jiu Qi, but he couldn't get through several times. In a hurry, Li Pingan had to send a message and briefly explained the situation here.
Seeing no response from the other side, Li Ping'an put his phone in his pocket, quickened his pace and walked towards Houshan Village. Although Sister Hua didn't say anything just now, she would glance in the direction of Houshan Village from time to time, which made Li Ping'an a little scared.
Du Xin didn't know what happened, but seeing Li Pingan so serious, it was not easy to ask, so he could only silently quicken his pace and catch up with Li Pingan.
Standing at the entrance of Houshan Village, Li Ping'an felt something was not good. It was impossible for people from Chenjia Village to come and watch the fun without making any noise. The atmosphere here was so quiet that it was a little weird.
Walking into the village, he saw no one. It was strange. Li Pingan walked to a door and was about to knock. As soon as his hand touched it, the door was pushed open. When he saw the scene in the yard, Li Pingan stopped. He heard the sound of vomiting behind him.
Bloody humanoid figures were hung in a row on the clothesline in the yard, still dripping blood. Li Pingan trembled, "Auntie Lin,"
"Sheng Lin,"
No response.
