Chapter 56

The scenes in the dream passed too quickly; Ye Chu didn't have time to look closely before the scene changed again. When she woke up the next day, she couldn't remember anything.

Today they're filming the scene in the room that flashes back to the beginning of the script, a scene Ye Chu also acted out during her audition. She and Chang Ji had breakfast on the second floor of the hotel, and then took a van to today's new filming location.

As soon as I arrived, I saw the snow machine already working diligently. The snow machine was very loud, but highly efficient. With snow falling last night and this morning, it quickly created the snow scene needed for the shoot.

Ye Chu stepped forward, thanked everyone one by one, and then sat down on the bench to review the script.

"Alright, everyone's here, right? Let's get to work!" Zhang Wuyong shouted, and everyone immediately took their positions.

"Good morning, Sister Chu!" Fu Yu, still munching on a vegetable bun, skipped over to greet her. Ye Chu, who was putting on makeup, squinted and replied with a "Good morning," then asked, "I remember your scenes are in the afternoon? Aren't you going to rest more?"

"I'm full of energy, so I came to watch your big shots put on a show and try to get some acting buffs." Fu Yu winked at her, then stuffed the rest of the steamed bun into her mouth in one bite, her cheeks bulging like a hamster.

"Get ready!" Zhang Wuyong shouted. Ye Chu's makeup was finished, and she put on today's costume—a pink coat, which suited this "snowy day" perfectly.

The film opens with a shot of Gu Yu leaving the house, looking around as if searching for inspiration. The actress playing his mother then opens the door again after he leaves and calls out to him, "Come back soon."

"Got it." He held the hot water bottle in one hand and waved with the other, looking like a wanderer away from home, which was quite poetic.

The walk wasn't difficult at all, and soon it was Ye Chu's turn to go on stage. A staff member handed her a broom, which Ye Chu took to her front door and pretended to sweep the snow.

She heard the crunching sound of shoes on the snow. In the shot, she paused abruptly as she was sweeping the snow, then stopped and looked at the person who had appeared near her door.

"Not bad, not bad. Chu Yatou's performance was quite good. When we add the sound of her shoes walking on the snow in post-production, it will be perfect." Zhang Wuyong nodded affirmatively.

The rest of the story is quite familiar: the two exchanged a few sharp words before inviting the person into their home...

"Cut! This one's good!"

After everyone moved inside, the photographer adjusted his position and equipment, and Zhang Wuyong said again, "Continue."

So he went in, set up the hot water bottle, and got up to leave in one smooth motion.

"Cut!" Zhang Wuyong shouted. The staff opened the door and said to the people outside, "Snow machine ready! Ice crusher ready!"

After a while, someone outside shouted, "Ready to go!"

Zhang Wuyong: "Continue!"

As soon as he opened the door, the heavy snow was right in front of him. Gu Yu said, "It's okay, I can just run back."

crackling sounds...

Ye Chu grabbed the person's hand and pulled them inside.

With a loud "bang!", the door was slammed shut.

Then came the conversation and the overnight stay.

Finally, the grand finale arrived, punctuated by Zhang Wuyong's nth shout of the day: "Continue!"

The melodramatic romance drama that had been prepared was playing on TV. Ye Chu and the actress playing her mother were standing very close to each other, and their intimate interaction made them look like a mother and daughter with a very good relationship.

Then the camera cut for a moment, giving a shot of the main characters on the TV looking at each other, and then cut back.

"Yes! That's it! There should be sparks when we look into each other's eyes! Sparks!" Zhang Wuyong shouted. He seemed to be in particularly good spirits this morning, perhaps because the very smooth shooting that morning had put him in a good mood.

That concludes the entire high school section.

"Alright, let's tidy up and have lunch."

Lunch was again a bland fried rice and an overly salty seaweed and egg drop soup. Despite the poor taste, everyone finished it, as they still had work to do all afternoon.

Of course, it was impossible for the filming to actually take place at Tsinghua University or Tsinghua University. Instead, two well-known local universities were chosen. As soon as the film crew arrived, they were surrounded by people.

Fortunately, the staff and bodyguards were prepared and cleared a path through the dense crowd. As the group of actors passed through, cheers and screams erupted all around, and fans took the opportunity to hand them gifts, all of which were carefully collected by the staff.

The chaotic scene didn't last long. The school sent people out to coordinate, and since everyone present was a college student, they cooperated and left without disturbing the actors.

Everyone spent the afternoon busy, and by the time we finished work, it was already dark. Hungry and exhausted, everyone packed up and prepared to go home, as they had to get up early again to film the next day.

It was winter, and the temperature was already quite low. Ye Chu was wearing a thick coat when she called Chang Ji, but the phone was switched off.

A while later, she received a call from an unknown number. When she answered, she learned that it was Chang Ji calling. The nanny van had broken down halfway, and her phone had run out of battery, so she was using the driver's phone to make the call.

"It's okay, I'll ask someone in my group if they can give me a ride, don't worry about me."

"Yes, you and the driver should also be careful."

"good."

"Okay, bye-bye."

Gu Yu was standing not far away and overheard some of the conversation, so he went up to him and asked, "Is something the matter?"

Ye Chu smiled at him sheepishly: "I went to refuel the car when it ran out of gas, and then it broke down on the way back."

Gu Yu nodded, and then casually asked, "Do you need me to give you a ride?"

"Is it okay?" Ye Chu bit her lip. "I feel like I'm always causing trouble for Actor Gu."

Gu Yu raised his hand and ruffled her hair: "I don't mind being bothered by you. Let's go, my car is quite spacious, taking one more person is no problem."

Ye Chu followed Gu Yu into the car, where Cheng Yuan was also present. She greeted her quietly.

"Don't be shy, it's convenient since we're all staying at the same hotel," Cheng Yuan said with a smile, knowing that Ye Chu was just embarrassed.

"Yes, thank you, Sister Cheng."

The car's heater was on, gradually warming Ye Chu's icy hands and feet. She felt her blood starting to circulate again and breathed out softly in comfort.

Gu Yu, sitting next to her, naturally noticed her commotion and couldn't help but smile, finding her quite adorable, like a timid fox. Like a fox cub that hides in its burrow in winter, occasionally peeking out to sniff around, only to emerge to forage for food once it's safe. But at the slightest disturbance, it immediately scurries back into its den.

"Achoo~" Ye Chu covered her nose and sneezed softly. She frowned her delicate eyebrows, wondering if she was going to catch a cold.

Gu Yu said, "Remember to take some medicine to prevent colds when you get back. The temperature is dropping quickly, so make sure you keep warm. If the female lead gets sick, the filming schedule will be affected."

Ye Chu nodded: "Okay."

After a brief conversation, the rest of the journey was quiet. Both Ye Chu and Gu Yu were a little tired after a whole day of filming.
