The female host, her eyes shining as she looked at the screen, was just as excited as the audience. She asked, "Who do you all want Actor Gu to call?"
The screen was filled with neatly written names, including many famous directors and actors, as Gu Yu swiped his hand. The audience stared in disbelief, unsure which name to choose.
"Ahhh!" Suddenly, screams erupted from the audience. The male host was startled and looked closely at the screen, where he saw Gu Yu's nickname: Empress Dowager.
He raised an eyebrow: "It seems everyone's opinion is surprisingly consistent, huh?"
"Ahhh!" The audience nodded and screamed frantically, and the male host said, "Then, three, two, one, everyone shout it out together?"
"Empress Dowager!" they exclaimed in unison.
An actor from another film crew laughed particularly wildly: "Is this considered a public execution of Actor Gu?"
The female host chuckled: "Then, Actor Gu."
Gu Yu shrugged helplessly. The director switched off the dialer interface, and the entire room listened quietly to the "beep-beep" sound, waiting for someone to answer.
Finally, a gentle female voice called out, "Hello? Xiaoyu?" and some fans in the audience covered their mouths and screamed softly.
"Mom." Gu Yu smiled at the audience, responding naturally.
"What's wrong? Why are you calling at this hour? Don't you have work?" Gu Yan's voice was a bit noisy on the other end, with the faint sounds of rustling paper and conversations.
"No, are you busy right now?" Gu Yu looked at the two hosts opposite him who were constantly gesturing with their hands and feet to hint at his lines, but still pretended to be having a normal conversation.
"I can only answer your call today because I'm not busy," Gu Yan said, her voice filled with questioning, "What's wrong?"
"Ahem." Gu Yu coughed lightly, making a fist with her right hand to cover her mouth. "I... I think my family needs to prepare for the wedding."
"What? What did you just say?" Gu Yan asked in a rapid, loud voice as she spoke, her voice rising considerably.
The audience covered their mouths, waiting for the next part.
"Ye Chu and I went to get our marriage certificate today," he said casually, watching the two hosts give him a thumbs up.
"..." There was silence on the other end of the phone. Some audience members couldn't help but start whispering, and the host quickly gestured for everyone to be quiet. Gu Yan on the other end seemed to take a moment to process the news before asking solemnly, "Have you thought it through?"
Gu Yu looked at the two hosts, who were nodding frantically. So he nodded as well: "I've thought it through."
"What about your work? How are you dealing with your fans?"
"Those who can accept it will stay, and I won't force those who can't. As for acting, I'll probably do less; I want to focus on my family."
"What did Chu Chu say?" Gu Yan asked naturally. She was no stranger to Ye Chu. Ever since the girl was little, she had been determined to bring her home. Seeing that the audience's emotions were about to get out of control, the male host immediately said, "Everyone, please be quiet and let Actor Gu speak." Then he turned to Gu Yu and said, "Actor Gu."
Gu Yu nodded: "Ye Chu and I do know each other, as the company's previous statement also indicated." His voice was gentle, like a cup of cool tea to soothe the nerves of those present, allowing them to listen to him speak.
Meanwhile, the program team quickly released the statement issued by Gu Yu's company, highlighting in red the sentence that acknowledged the two were old friends.

Ye Jing answered the phone after only pausing to drink her wine glass. "Chu Chu?" she asked.
"Auntie," Ye Chu replied softly, her tone different from when she answered on stage, carrying a strong hint of coquetry.
"What's wrong? Do you miss your aunt?"
"I've been thinking about you all along," Ye Chu replied softly. "Auntie, I have something to tell you."
"What's up?"
"Gu Yu and I are together."
"What Gu Yu? Which Gu Yu?" The audience widened their eyes. Ye Chu and Gu Yingdi were old friends. Didn't Ye Chu's aunt know Gu Yingdi? Wasn't that a very complicated matter?
"It's Aunt Gu Yan's son, Little Gu."
"Ah, Xiao Gu!" Ye Jing suddenly realized, "I've gotten so used to calling him Xiao Gu that I forgot to give him his real name." The audience covered their mouths to stifle their laughter.
"Yes, it's that Xiao Gu."
