Ye Chu held the child's hand and studied the abstract map provided by the production team under the shade of a large tree by the roadside.
Where are we going?
Hearing the child ask him a question, Ye Chu squatted down and held the map in her hand in front of him: "Alix, we've run into a little trouble."
Seeing Alix looking at her and then at the map with curiosity, Ye Chu said again, "I think I need your help. Can you understand the graffiti on the map?"
Suddenly feeling needed, Alix immediately adopted a serious detective's stance, took the map from her hand, and looked as if he was studying it very carefully.
Ye Chu smiled and patted his head. The photographer next to him quickly gave a close-up of the child's profile, the angle of which was just right to show Ye Chu smiling with a doting expression.
Although she said she was asking a child for help, Ye Chu didn't have high hopes. If Alix said he couldn't figure it out, it wouldn't matter; she was prepared to ask passersby.
"I understand!" Alix exclaimed, turning her head excitedly. Two blushes of excitement graced her fair face, and her sky-blue eyes sparkled beneath her long eyelashes, her smile radiant.
"You have to look at this map upside down!" He said, turning the map upside down. "This one! The big circle is its belly, and this long line is its trunk! This is an elephant!" He pointed to a solid gray circle with a long downward line on the paper. Ye Chu glanced at the corner of her mouth. Was this really an elephant? Or was it some kind of secret pattern that only children could understand?
Alix was still excited about his discovery: "This one, with its rectangular belly and long rectangular neck, is a giraffe! This one is a red triangle with one leg, it's a flamingo!"
He tugged at Ye Chu's sleeve and shook it: "My mom and dad took me to the zoo, and lots of little animals are there!"
The zoo... Ye Chu took the map, and now she could tell what it was. It wasn't a map of the city, but a map of the zoo.
"Alix is amazing! My sister looked for a long time but didn't notice it."
After being praised, Alix smiled even more happily, and her goodwill towards this older sister she had only known for a short time increased rapidly.
They asked a passerby for directions to the zoo, and since it wasn't far, Ye Chu led the child there on foot. The filming took place on a weekday, so there weren't many visitors at the zoo. Alix seemed very excited, and seeing his eyes light up, Ye Chu couldn't help but ask him, "Does Alix really like the zoo?"
The child nodded: "You can feed lambs and hold rabbits at the zoo!"
Ye Chu nodded, and the two of them, one big and one small, walked towards the panda enclosure marked with a star on the map. "Oh, you've finally arrived!" The staff member arranged by the program team, who had been waiting for a while, waved to them with a smile: "I'm in charge of the experience center for your one-day experience. My surname is Huang, just call me Sister Huang."
Sister Huang looked to be in her early thirties. She was not tall and a little chubby, and her smile gave people a very gentle and easygoing feeling.
Sister Huang smiled and handed Alix a lollipop: "Hello, little friend, I'm Aunt Huang."
Hello, Auntie.
"Good boy!" Sister Huang patted Alix's head, then led the two into the panda enclosure, introducing the pandas as they walked: "Our panda enclosure isn't very big. There are currently five pandas inside, two big ones and three small ones." She opened the door in front of her: "Let's change into our work clothes first."
Wearing blue work clothes, masks, and hairnets, Sister Huang led them into the disinfection room. After coming out, she walked towards the food preparation room: "You've come at the right time. We're preparing food for the panda cubs right now. It would be great if you could help us."
“Of course, Alix, would you like to help Aunt Huang prepare food for the panda cubs?” Ye Chu asked. The little guy nodded vigorously, ran a few steps, and tugged at Aunt Huang’s sleeve: “Auntie, I will help you make food.”
The panda cubs' food is very simple. Sister Huang demonstrated for both the big and small pandas, and Ye Chu found it easy to do. But it was different for little Alix. He wasn't very strong and couldn't hold one thing in each hand, so he gradually became a little frustrated.
Ye Chu was the first to notice the little guy's mood, so she went over to explain to Sister Huang. Sister Huang seemed to have thought of something, so she walked over, half-squatted down, and said to the child, "Little friend, I need to go feed the panda cubs now. Do you want to come and help?"
"Um!"
Seeing that Sister Huang had successfully diverted Alix's attention and tricked him into breastfeeding, Ye Chu felt much more at ease. However, without the baby around, the workshop suddenly became quiet, and the staff continued their work diligently. Ye Chu suddenly had the idea of helping to breastfeed.
