"Raise your head and look in the direction the sword is pointing." Gu Yu placed his hand on Ye Chu's waist, bent down slightly, and whispered in her ear to remind her. He then swung his long leg to correct Ye Chu's leg posture: "Keep your legs straight, and don't take such big steps."
The person in his arms was soft and had a faint fragrance. Gu Yu was a little distracted, but he still tried his best to suppress his impulse: "Here, wave your hand, sheathe the sword back to your chest, and turn your wrist."
A warm, large hand enveloped a small hand and gripped the sword hilt tightly: "Step back, then thrust forward." With a forceful thrust, the sword made a "whoosh" sound as it sliced through the air and pierced through.
"Watch closely here," Gu Yu said. Ye Chu's eyes followed his movements. Gu Yu held Ye Chu's hand and skillfully guided her to turn her wrist and pull her legs back. As she stood up straight, the sword hilt in her hand changed direction, and her five fingers changed their grip. The long sword was then held close to the back of her arm.
"Not bad, not bad." The veteran actor in the same group was very satisfied with the performance, clapping his hands as he muttered, "Gu Yu, right? Kid, you can even wield a sword, I didn't know that."
Gu Yu released Ye Chu's hand, stepped back and stood properly: "When I was filming before, I learned a few moves from my teacher, but my skill level wasn't very high."
"I think it's pretty good."
"Yes, yes, it's a pleasure to watch the two of you dance with swords together."
Ye Chu, still holding her sword, blushed slightly upon hearing this and remained silent, gripping the sword tightly. To be honest, she hadn't expected Gu Yu to personally teach her swordsmanship; her heart had nearly jumped out of her chest.
Gu Yu asked her, "Have you learned it? Can you remember it?"
Ye Chu shook her head helplessly: "There are a few movements I just can't remember. Either I forget to turn my hands or I forget to move my legs."
Gu Yu reached out his hand, and Ye Chu handed him the sword. Then, he demonstrated the sword dance to him again.
"Don't rush this scene. Practice more these next few days. If you don't understand something, just ask me. It's actually quite simple once you get the hang of it." After saying that, he returned the sword to Ye Chu, patted her head, and went to find the director. It was unclear what they discussed.
When Gu Yu returned, Ye Chu was still practicing, and all the people who had been watching had left.
"Don't overexert yourself, take a break. If you hold the sword for too long, your arm muscles will start to hurt." Ye Chu obediently put the sword down and indeed felt a slight twitching in her forearm muscles, which made her frown.
"Come sit down for a while, I'll give you a forearm massage."
Having probably experienced this pain before, Gu Yu's massage pressure was just right, and Ye Chu soon felt that the muscles in her forearm relaxed a lot, and the pain was relieved a lot.
"Are you feeling better?" Gu Yu asked. Ye Chu nodded, thinking that this person really knew everything and was amazing.
"Sword techniques cannot be mastered in a short time. Just practice a little bit every day and gradually get used to them. Don't rush it."
Ye Chu found it somewhat amusing to hear his older brother-like tone; this person always seemed to unconsciously treat her like a child in the family.
"Since we still have some free time, how about we rehearse a scene together?" Gu Yu waved the script in his hand, pointed to a few actors practicing their lines not far away, and a youthful, dashing smile appeared on his lips: "How about it, my beauty?"
"Of course, Your Majesty." Ye Chu bowed in agreement and got up to follow him to the side. The film crew was located on a real, dusty plain. For filming purposes, the actors actually slept in tents, ate bread on the spot, and had to go to a distant village to borrow someone's bathroom to take a bath. So everyone had to endure it and only took a bath once every three or four days.
The sun was blazing, so they filmed under the scorching sun. Ye Chu knelt and wept not far from the riverbank, while the extras playing corpses lay motionless on the yellow sand, dutifully fulfilling their duties.
To portray Yu Ji's helplessness and strength, the director required her to shed tears without making a sound, ideally with a slight tremor as she suppressed her pain.
The camera was shot from where Gu Yu was standing, so that Xiang Yu's perspective could be captured. In the distance, all that could be seen was a white blob against the yellow earth, trembling in the wind and sand.
Xiang Yu frowned, led his beloved horse toward the white figure, and upon closer inspection, realized it was a person, and a woman at that.
Hearing the sound, the woman raised her head, a few clear tears still streaming down her beautiful face. Suddenly, a gust of wind blew, scattering yellow sand all over Ye Chu's face.
"Cough cough." She coughed with her eyes closed, using the sleeves of her costume to shield herself from the wind and sand, her face covered in sand mixed with her hair.
"Puhahaha..."
Laughter erupted from the crowd, indicating that she must have looked so ridiculous that it was laughable.
The staff handed her some water and diligently redid her hair and touched up her makeup.
The director said helplessly, "Unfortunately, no one can control this wind."
"If you could control the wind, wouldn't that be amazing? When filming battle scenes, there would be no need for post-production special effects. Just control the wind and create a sandstorm, which would be better than any special effects." The actor who plays Fan Zeng said, "Although my character doesn't like you, young lady, I personally like you quite a bit. You're hardworking."
Ye Chu smiled at him, acknowledging the compliment. Because of the disruptive wind and sand, many shots had to be reshot five or six times, causing everyone to shake their heads and sigh, saying it was truly difficult.
Filming on location, besides the sudden gusts of wind that whip up sand and sting your face, there's also the issue of food. For convenience, everyone just eats bread directly, but with the wind blowing, it becomes bread mixed with sand.
So every mealtime, a magical scene would unfold: a group of people would squat together, wearing big hats no matter how hot it was, and then, with their backs to the wind, they would eat bread at an incredibly fast pace.
The publicity staff took two photos at the right time, one from the front and one from the back, and then put them together with the official announcement.
Filming for the historical drama "Chu Han" has officially begun. @…@GuYuV @YeChuV @…Guys, what do you think these people are doing, squatting like that? [Curious]
"What did I just see? Gu Yu? Ye Chu? They've teamed up again? Wow, that's impressive."
"I've seen this director's other works, which are generally mediocre, not bad but not particularly outstanding either. I wonder how this one will be."
"Speaking of the Chu-Han Contention, I must mention my favorite characters, Xiang Yu and Yu Ji! I cried so much when Xiang Yu and Yu Ji parted."
"Gu Yu plays Xiang Yu, and Ye Chu plays Yu Ji. Why do these two always play husband and wife? It makes me, who is a fan of your brotherly relationship, feel very awkward."
"I don't think there's any awkwardness in brotherhood. It's precisely because it's brotherhood that it's okay for them to play husband and wife, since there's no spark between them."
"There are so many veteran actors joining the cast, it feels like something to look forward to. I absolutely love Fei's spy trilogy, I watched every single episode. Experienced veteran spies can be just as handsome as the younger ones!"
"I always thought Yu's portrayal of Empress Dowager Cixi was the most classic. This time she's actually playing Empress Lü. I love it! I definitely won't miss it. Kudos to these veteran actors!"
The discussion here was in full swing, and naturally, the fan groups were also buzzing with excitement. At this very moment, Ye Chu's fan group was celebrating wildly.
