Chapter Thirteen: Advertising Shooting

Ye Chu sat in the dressing room, letting the makeup artist do her thing on her face. The dressing room was actually just a teacher's office. They were shooting a commercial for fruit gummies; the script was simple, with almost no lines, focusing mainly on actions and eye contact.

She has two looks today: a human girl and a gummy fairy. The advertisement's plot is roughly about a shy and introverted human girl who longs to make friends but is afraid of unfamiliar classmates. When her classmates share fruit gummies at the start of the new semester to make friends, she is too shy to accept.

So while her classmates were happily sharing candy, she propped her cheek up and looked out the window, as if she were separated from her surroundings, exuding an atmosphere of loneliness and isolation.

This was the first thing to be filmed. Ye Chu straightened her school uniform. In order to highlight her youthful vitality, the stylist ultimately chose to have her tie her hair into a ponytail instead of letting it down.

Her energetic ponytail paired with a blue and white school uniform and white sneakers, and the fact that she wasn't wearing lipstick but instead using a light pink lip balm—not too pink, just enough to add a touch of color to her already pale lips—made her look more vibrant.

The blush color is similar to the pink of the lip balm, and the eyeliner is drawn below the lashes, following the original lines to create a light and innocent look. The eyeshadow is also a light pink, almost invisible.

Ye Chu looked at herself in the mirror and had to admit that the makeup artist and stylist worked together very well and were on the same page. The entire makeup was light and natural, making her feel like she was still a student.

"Perfect!"

"yeah!"

Seeing that she gave each other a high five, Ye Chu couldn't help but smile and ask, "You two know each other? I thought you weren't familiar with each other since you weren't talking to each other."

"No, no," the girl who did her makeup said. "We're pretty close, we're related by blood." She winked at her as she spoke.

The stylist nodded and then winked at her. Ye Chu then realized that the two people's eyes looked very similar, but their expressions were different, which made people overlook this.

"I see. You two must have a very good relationship."

"Hehe, it's great!"

The atmosphere in the dressing room was harmonious... At this moment, a staff member knocked on the door, and the stylist went to open it. The staff member said, "You can start here." Ye Chu then stepped out of the dressing room.

Having just finished arranging the scene, the director was giving the staff a final lesson. He pointed to a few points and nodded to the staff next to him to indicate that he had remembered them.

The director patted him on the shoulder with satisfaction, then looked at Ye Chu, who had already walked to the side to prepare, and waved to her.

Ye Chu walked over, and the director asked her, "Is there anything wrong?"

"That's all." Ye Chu glanced at the filming location—the small classroom that had been cleared out for filming—and got a feel for the positioning she would need to do later. After all, she wasn't a newcomer to the industry; her experience was there for her, so it was impossible for her not to know how to do it.

"Alright, get ready to begin." The director nodded and gestured for the crew to get ready to start.

Ye Chu walked to the last table in the classroom and sat down.

As the camera moves, you can see her looking down and drawing something on a piece of paper. Then a girl wearing the same school uniform walks over, holding an open bag of gummy candies.

The girl was cute. I sat down in the empty chair in front of her, leaned over, and asked, "Want some candy?"

The person being asked seemed to pause for a moment, then slowly put down their pen and looked up. At that moment, the girl asked again, "Want some candy?" She then gently raised the bag of fruit gummies in her hand to indicate that she wanted some.

"No need, thank you."

The rejected girl shrugged helplessly, got up from her seat, and Ye Chu glanced around. The girl had already moved on to another person and successfully shared the candy. Many other students in the class also received candy and chatted and laughed.

She turned her head and looked at the sketchbook on her desk, on which the outline of an elf was sketched with smooth lines. She seemed lost in thought for a moment, then turned her head slightly to gaze out the window, lost in thought.

The sounds of laughter and chatter continued in the classroom, but she seemed not to hear them. Sunlight streamed through the window, falling obliquely on the desks and chairs in the front row, while her seat was directly out of the sunlight.

Suddenly, the second hand of the classroom clock stopped moving...

The camera captured Ye Chu's expression as she saw the elf standing outside the window, her eyes widening in surprise.

No one knew what the fairy had done, but after the fairy disappeared, time returned to normal. She slowly stood up, seemingly a little shy, and walked to the girl from before, blushing as she whispered, "Candy, can I try?"

"Cut! Very good. Ye Chu, go change your look. The rest of you, practice and get ready!"

Ye Chu left the classroom where the filming was taking place and returned to the dressing room. The two sisters had already prepared all sorts of things, and as soon as she sat down, they surrounded her and began "working" on her face and hair.

This time, her hair was let down, slightly curled, and softly draped over her shoulders. The stylist placed a flower wreath on her head, adorned with fruit-shaped ornaments. She wore a white spaghetti strap dress with a white sheer cardigan, and comfortable brown sandals with a small circle of vines painted around her ankles using body paint.

The makeup was also designed to complement the overall look, with strawberry-colored lipstick paired with a light orange-red blush, and barely noticeable light orange eyeshadow.

After the styling was completed, the second half of the advertisement was filmed.

The classroom clock stopped, and the people chatting and laughing froze. The girl in the classroom, who had been staring blankly out the window, was somewhat surprised when she saw the fairy suddenly appear.

The lively and adorable elf was holding the same fruit gummies as the girl had just held. The elf pointed to the words on the gummies' packaging, and only then did she see that it read "A New Try." Seeing that she had noticed the words, the elf tilted her head and smiled, silently mouthing, "Go and make new friends."

So the fairy disappeared, and the girl mustered her courage to try again.

The camera zooms out, and the fairy in the white dress smiles at the girl who has finally started talking to others at the classroom door. She turns around, holding the bag of fruit gummies in one hand and putting the other to her mouth as if whispering to those off-camera: "It's a completely new experience!"

"Card!"

Perfectly completed.
