Chapter 22

==================

As the voice gradually faded, Abe's pace slowed down.

Everyone looked at the scene before them and fell silent.

The parsnip field in front of me was in a mess. Many parsnips were broken or uprooted and thrown aside. Huge footprints shuttled through the field, trampling the newly grown parsnip seedlings on one side into the soil.

The high-quality soil that had been cultivated with great effort was trampled into uneven patches. The crops that the villagers had painstakingly cultivated for months were dug up and scattered.

Looking further away, the warm and beautiful little village that Lina mentioned has turned into ruins.

This was much more tragic than the devastation of Bubu Town that Lian Yun saw for the first time.

This place had recently experienced fire and looting.

The sturdy house was pushed down by the powerful force, the door of the warehouse was violently torn open and thrown several meters away, and the roof was directly lifted off, revealing that there was nothing inside.

Most of the walls in the village are built with stone. Lina said that the mountain where everyone carried the stones had stones of various colors, and they chose their favorite colors when building houses. From a distance, the houses looked colorful and beautiful.

But now all that can be seen from the burned-out outer wall is a pitch-black mass.

Some thatched houses were already reduced to ashes.

The thatch and wooden fences piled between the houses were burned to ashes, leaving only black charcoal on the ground.

The fire lasted for at least a day and a night. No one could resist the fire and they just let it go until everything was consumed by the fire, leaving not a blade of grass behind.

After the extreme killing, there was no cry for help from any life in the deathly silence.

No sound.

Lina jumped off the bear's back in disbelief, her hands trembling as she took a few steps forward. Her legs went weak and she almost collapsed to the ground.

"Lina!" Lian Yun rushed forward to support her, hugged her shoulders tightly, and looked solemn.

Lina slowly raised her head and grabbed Lian Yun's cloak tightly as if she had grabbed a life-saving straw.

The little girl leaned on the young woman for support, tears glistening in her eyes, but she tried hard not to cry: "Sister..."

"I know, I know..." Lian Yun's eyes were dark and unclear, and he deliberately slowed down his voice, hoping to give the little girl in his arms some hope. "Let's go find out if there is anyone else, okay? Don't be so pessimistic for now."

The little girl couldn't even speak clearly. She suppressed her tears and didn't even want to struggle anymore: "But I'm too late, I..."

Lian Yun bit his lower lip and interrupted her with a gloomy expression: "Shut up."

"Sir." Abe couldn't bear to step forward.

"What if there are still people alive? If you are sad for one second, they will struggle and suffer on the line between life and death for one more second. Are you sure you want to continue?" Lian Yun stared at Lina's eyes fiercely.

"Sir!" Abe knew that she was forcing Lina to cheer up, but this was too cruel for a little girl who had just lost her home!

Lanna stopped Abe with an expressionless face: "Don't interrupt the adults."

Aibei looked at him angrily, but the latter was unmoved. He could only look at Lianyun helplessly again: "Sir, let Lina rest for a while, we will go find someone."

Upon hearing this, Lian Yun frowned, closed his eyes, and exhaled lightly, as if struggling with his own thoughts.

She opened her eyes and looked down at Lina in her arms, whose eyes were lifeless and she seemed to have lost her soul.

"good."

Aibei breathed a sigh of relief, rushed over to take Lina, comforted her softly, and settled her aside.

Lian Yun waved towards Lanna. Although his expression was cold, it was much calmer than before. "Take Xiaohong with you and split up. Find someone and have Xiaohong come and tell me."

Xiaohong received the instructions from Lanna and rushed into the sky and flew west.

After giving the order, Lian Yun walked towards the east without looking back.

She did not miss a single corner, turned over every collapsed roof, pushed aside the bricks piled together in a disorderly manner, and paid close attention to even the slightest sound around her.

There were more than ten rooms on the east side, and she searched each one.

The absolute silence allowed her to clearly hear her own breathing. Looking at the collapsed houses in front of her, the dazzling midday sun could not illuminate her eyes. It seemed as if the sun was disappearing bit by bit in front of her.

Darkness climbed up the corners of her clothes, covered her skin, and eroded her mind bit by bit. The scene before her overlapped with the rainy night in the depths of her memory that she least wanted to recall.

Such a dead silence.

The world was spinning, and everything around her was out of her control, spinning and twisting towards the distance she was looking at.

And she leaned back.

Out of control.

Lian Yun thought with a dull expression.

This awareness of danger instantly awakened her subconscious.

But she was still falling.

She had already planned to fall to the ground, but unexpectedly she fell into a solid and spacious embrace.

"grown ups."

That familiar and gentle voice sounded in her ears, and a pair of big hands embraced her slender waist through the cloak.

The darkness suddenly dissipated.

Lian Yun held his arm until the dizziness subsided.

"Your Excellency is too careless." The blond man in front of him smiled slightly, making Lian Yun feel extremely warm in an instant.

She was happy about her luck: "It's a good thing you came! You are always by my side! Lanna!"

"Of course, sir. Because you are the lord, the town needs you, and I also need your guidance." Lanna's smile remained unchanged.

Lian Yun was stunned and felt a little uncomfortable.

Just because... she is the lord?

"Yes, yes." The smile on Lian Yun's face froze.

She shrugged nonchalantly and smiled back, "I need you too. You're very strong."

"Really?" Lanner lowered his head and laughed muffledly, "Is it just because I'm powerful?"

Lian Yun smiled even more awkwardly. It turned out that the more you talk, the more mistakes you make.

Seeing that he didn't say anything else, Lian Yun pursed her lips slightly, as if she really was thinking too much.

She gently pushed the man's arm and tried to pull away.

But after the man in front of her laughed, his hand on her waist suddenly tightened, and he suddenly pulled Lian Yun in front of him.

The tips of their noses were only a few centimeters apart, and Lian Yun was surrounded by a strange and strong atmosphere, and his whole body suddenly shut down.

The man's blue eyes were as clear as water, reflecting her embarrassed look, but the owner of the eyes was full of teasing.

Lian Yun was stunned. She could even smell a faint fragrance on him.

The girl remained stunned for several seconds.

The man thought she was too shy to move, and the corners of his lips rose slightly. Just as he was about to speak again, he saw the girl suddenly put her hands on his chest.

A wicked smile suddenly appeared on the girl's pure and calm face.

Her hands kept moving, pressing on the collar of the man's cloak and pulling it hard to both sides -

"I want to see your little Barbie pink robe!"

The man was obviously stunned, and a variety of emotions flashed across his eyes for a moment, including disbelief, anger, helplessness, and the most obvious gloom.

Lian Yun pushed the man away while he was distracted, took a few steps back, and his expression became clear again.

Her eyes fell on the man's chest, and under his cloak, he was wearing a black robe.

It was not the Barbie pink that Lian Yun had created, nor was it even the one she had given to Lana.

"You want to pretend to be Lanna too?"

Lian Yun showed disdain on his face, raised his middle finger, and gave a sarcastic smile.

The man seemed to have suffered such an insult for the first time. His face turned dark and he pointed at Lian Yun tremblingly.

"You!..." He gritted his teeth and was speechless.

"Don't make that expression to his face." Lian Yun's eyes were cold. "It ruins his character."

She opened her backpack and scanned around, but didn't find any weapons. Regretfully, she took out a piece of molten crystal, aimed at the man's head and smashed it hard.

The man quickly turned his head, reached out to take the molten crystal, and his expression calmed down.

He raised his chin slightly and glared at Lian Yun as if he were looking at a small ant: "You don't seem that stupid?"

The man's figure began to gradually break into pieces and dissipate from bottom to top.

Want to run?

Lian Yun took advantage of him not disappearing and spoke quickly: "You want to pretend to be Lanna? How ugly are you that you dare not show your true face? Is this so difficult? Isn't it enough to have a face? No way? There are people who don't have a face, right?"

The man's expression, which had just been put in place, collapsed again.

He seemed to be trying to walk towards Lian Yun, but completely disappeared in the next second.

Everything around him began to spin again. Lian Yun closed his eyes and skillfully let his body fall backwards.

"grown ups."

The warm hands avoided her waist and held her shoulders firmly.

The scent lingering at Lian Yun's nose was different from the warm, flamboyant, and arrogant fragrance of the impostor just now.

This is a distant, quiet, subtle fragrance with a hint of bitterness, embracing everything and restraining its edge.

It is the bitter herbal fragrance emanating from the beast's carefully hidden wounds, and the fragility of its unquestionable absolute strength that can only be smelled when you get very close.

Lian Yun opened her eyes and saw that the fair-skinned blond man in front of her had a calm expression, but his usually peaceful brows could not hide his worry.

Seeing Lian Yun open his eyes, Lana blinked her blue eyes, and finally a hint of joy appeared in her eyes, and her whole tense body relaxed in an instant.

"Lanna." Lian Yun called him softly.

She had never felt so at ease since she came into this world.

"Aibei replaced me, so I came to find the adults," Lanna explained gently.

"Lanna is late."

Lian Yun shook his head and told him about the illusion he had just encountered, naturally ignoring the details and only mentioned that the man had transformed into his appearance.

Lana frowned slightly: "Ai Bei encountered the same situation just now."

"How is he?" Lian Yun was a little nervous.

"He turned into a giant bear, and it seemed... that the illusion had been broken," Lanner said.

Lian Yun: ...It's unexpected but also reasonable.

At this moment, a moving shadow was cast on the ground beside them. The two looked up and saw Xiaohong hovering in the sky.

Xiaohong let out a few short calls towards the west.

"We found the person."

The two looked at each other and said in unison.
