Chapter 93 I'm here to pick up my classmate's younger sister

He pointed to the kindergarten entrance.

Su Xiaonuan looked in the direction he pointed and sure enough, she saw a little girl wearing a pink dress, with pigtails, who looked a bit timid, peeking in this direction.

Seeing Han Jun wave, the little girl hesitated for a moment, then took off running over with her short legs, hugged Han Jun's leg, buried her face in his pants, and only revealed one big eye, secretly looking at Su Xiaonuan and Zhao Liyue.

Zhao Liyue saw all of this and confirmed that Han Jun had indeed come to pick up the child. Her tense expression eased slightly, but she did not completely let her guard down.

Han Jun bent down and easily picked up the little girl, then introduced her to Su Xiaonuan with a smile: "This is my classmate's little sister, her nickname is Zhuzhu."

Then he turned to Zhuzhu, his tone becoming exceptionally gentle, "Zhuzhu, look, aren't these snacks this lady is selling delicious? Would you like some?"

Zhuzhu glanced at Han Jun, then timidly looked at Su Xiaonuan, nodded gently, and answered in a voice barely audible, "I...I want to eat it." She paused, then seemed to muster her courage to add, "It smells delicious."

Han Jun smiled and patted Zhuzhu's head before saying to Su Xiaonuan, "Boss, two servings of Mercury Pudding, please."

Su Xiaonuan felt a slight sense of relief upon confirming that the encounter was indeed a coincidence, and a gentle smile appeared on her face.

A thin layer of sweat glistened on the tip of her nose from her busy work, glistening in the sunlight.

She replied briskly, "Okay, two servings of Mercury pudding, that'll be sixty in total."

She skillfully took out two refrigerated and set puddings and gave them the final decorations.

Han Jun paid the money, took the pudding, and handed one of the portions to Zhuzhu in his arms.

Zhuzhu held it carefully, her big eyes filled with anticipation.

Neither party mentioned the awkward "hiring" incident from the previous day again, as if it were just a harmless little episode.

Han Jun watched Su Xiaonuan's busy yet organized figure and asked casually, "Boss Su, I noticed you don't always set up your stall in one place?"

Su Xiaonuan didn't stop what she was doing and nodded frankly: "Yes, it's not fixed."

But after she finished answering, she didn't seem inclined to delve deeper into the topic; her attitude was polite but distant.

Han Jun still wore that harmless smile. He took out his phone and showed the QR code: "How about we add each other on WeChat? In case I want to eat your cooking again in the future, I'll know where to find you."

Although Zhao Liyue's suspicions about Han Jun had lessened considerably, she still frowned slightly in disapproval out of professional habit and a desire to protect Su Xiaonuan.

Su Xiaonuan, however, had her own considerations.

She could sense that although Han Jun seemed a bit cynical, his patience and gentleness towards Zhu Zhu were genuine.

A person who treats children like this is probably not a bad person at heart.

She reassured Zhao Liyue with her eyes, indicating that she understood, and then took out the work WeChat account she used specifically for contacting people at her stall, scanned the QR code, and added Han Ming.

"Added." Su Xiaonuan waved her phone.

Han Jun glanced down and teased, "Oh, your profile picture is a little rabbit, it's quite cute, it suits you perfectly, Boss Su."

Su Xiaonuan found it somewhat amusing; this person was really... naturally outgoing.

She didn't show it on her face, just gave a lukewarm "hmm" and didn't reply.

Han Jun wasn't annoyed. He smiled nonchalantly, picked up Zhuzhu, and waved to Su Xiaonuan and Zhao Liyue: "Alright, we won't disturb Boss Su's business any longer. We'll be going now. Goodbye!" After saying that, he turned and disappeared into the crowd of people picking up their children.

Watching them leave, Su Xiaonuan had almost sold out her daily quota of Mercury Pudding.

She decisively put up the "Sold Out" sign and began packing up her stall.

Zhao Liyue was already used to Su Xiaonuan's style of "finishing the task and calling it a day, never selling an extra item", and silently helped tidy up.

On the way back, the carriage was quieter than it had been on the way there.

Looking through the rearview mirror, Zhao Liyue glanced at Su Xiaonuan, who was sitting in the passenger seat, gazing out the window lost in thought, and asked softly, "Are you nervous?"

Su Xiaonuan knew what she was asking.

At 11 p.m., on the rooftop of the Cruise Building, a "date" with the obsessive and dangerous Ji Xianjun, and the inescapable trap set by the police.

She withdrew her gaze and looked at Zhao Liyue, her eyes as calm as a deep pool.

From the time she was sent by her adoptive father to learn Sanda (Chinese kickboxing) as a child, to later sweating it out on the ring, and then being bound to the system after retiring, experiencing a series of thrilling or bizarre events... she seems to have long been accustomed to remaining calm under various pressures.

Nervous? Perhaps, but that was mostly a pretense to lull the opponent into a false sense of security, or an instinctive, instantaneous reaction of the body when faced with a completely unknown and unexpected situation.

Regarding tonight's planned and prepared operation, she felt more calm analysis and firm determination.

She shook her head calmly: "I'm not nervous."

Zhao Liyue looked at her overly calm profile and sighed deeply.

This girl is sometimes so calm it's heartbreaking.

She said no more and focused on driving, but her destination was not home, but the Municipal Public Security Bureau.

The car stopped in front of the police station.

Su Xiaonuan was lost in thought about her plans for the evening. She had just opened the car door and gotten out when she didn't notice someone walking quickly out from the side and bumped into a strong embrace.

"Ugh!" Su Xiaonuan exclaimed softly, her nose bumping against the person's stiff uniform, feeling a little sore.

A pair of strong hands caught her shoulders in time, preventing her from falling backward.

A faint scent, a mixture of soapberry fragrance and a barely perceptible hint of tobacco, enveloped her.

Su Xiaonuan subconsciously looked up and met a pair of deep, slightly tired eyes—it was Lu Zheng.

He seemed to have just come out of a meeting, his face still showing signs of fatigue from working non-stop, but his eyes remained sharp.

He looked down at Su Xiaonuan, who had bumped into him and seemed a little dazed. He instinctively put his arm around her slender waist to help her steady herself.

Su Xiaonuan felt the heat of a man's hand through the thin fabric around her waist, and her body involuntarily shrank back, her cheeks burning slightly.

Her hands unconsciously rested on Lu Zheng's firm, broad chest, and through his police shirt, she could clearly feel the strength beneath.

The two remained in this slightly ambiguous posture, both momentarily stunned.

Zhao Liyue, who got off the bus behind, immediately saw this scene.

Her eyes instantly became like a high-precision scanner, scanning back and forth between Su Xiaonuan and Lu Zheng. Her face revealed an extremely subtle expression that mixed "I see," "I understand," and "you guys continue." The "sudden realization" in her eyes was almost tangible.
