Chapter 133 Internal Problems

Chapter 133 Internal Problems

No matter what lies ahead, let's fill our stomachs first.

Of all things under heaven, eating is the most important.

but--

Su Xiaonuan unconsciously looked at her phone.

The two messages Han Ming sent, especially the latter part explaining Ji Xianjun's death, stirred up quite a ripple in Su Xiaonuan's heart.

She held her phone, her fingertips slightly cold, lost in thought.

She arranged to meet with Han Ming next Monday, intending to gain a deeper understanding of the mysterious "Crescent Moon" organization, even hoping to obtain clues to indirectly assist the police in dismantling its criminal chain. Han Ming's "self-exposure" at this moment was tantamount to deliberately exposing the organization's cracks and internal conflicts to her, giving her a great deal of room for imagination and manipulation.

"Internal problems," "disagreement with the concept of persuasion," "unilateral execution of the death sentence"...

These words, when put together, paint a picture of an organization in disarray, with intense ideological conflicts and even the possibility of extremist factions engaging in indiscriminate killing.

Ji Xianjun, the young man who once had gloomy eyes, was obsessed with winning and losing, and ultimately died in front of her with mixed emotions, actually became a victim of this internal strife.

Thinking of this, Su Xiaonuan felt an indescribable sense of loss and sorrow.

A vibrant life was so easily ended by "ideological differences".

But this sense of loss did not deter her; instead, it was like a spark thrown into dry tinder, igniting an even stronger determination in her heart.

Ji Xianjun's death was not enough to stop her.

She was determined to continue, not only to uncover the conspiracy against her, but also to carry with her the unfinished words of Ji Xianjun before his death and his remaining, perhaps yearning, will to break through the fog and win a truly meaningful, transparent explanation for those lives swallowed up by the so-called "justice" of "Crescent Moon"!

She stared at Han Ming's last message, which contained apology and a promise of "liquidation," along with the attached document, and remained silent for a long time.

She didn't reply immediately; her fingertip hovered over the cold screen.

The message "The other party is typing..." appeared repeatedly at the top of the dialog box, then disappeared, and finally fell silent.

It seemed that Han Ming was also experiencing some kind of struggle and weighing on the other end.

A long time passed, so long that Su Xiaonuan almost thought he wouldn't send another message, before her phone vibrated again.

[Han Ming: Don't worry, I won't be influenced by them. I can stay true to myself. So I will definitely deal with them (referring to the radicals within the organization).]

Immediately afterwards, an encrypted file was sent over.

Su Xiaonuan looked at the file icon, her mind filled with doubts, and sent a question mark.

Han Ming quickly replied with a voice message. Su Xiaonuan didn't listen to it; she directly chose to convert it to text. The cold text appeared line by line:

[Han Ming (voice to text): "After all, it was 'Half Moon' who apologized to you first, so this is my small apology. You probably won't see me for the next few days. I was planning to come and support you today, but unfortunately, plans don't always go as expected. I won't forget our appointment next Monday."]

Even through words, Su Xiaonuan seemed to "hear" the familiar, slightly cynical yet meaningful smile on Han Ming's lips as he spoke.

Her heart was filled with mixed feelings, like a jumble of flavors.

This Han Ming is both righteous and wicked, and his actions are unpredictable. Sometimes he lends a helping hand, and sometimes he drags her into a deeper vortex.

Was the “apology” he offered—that document—a trap, or a real breakthrough?

She looked at the document on her phone that might contain crucial evidence, then glanced at the people in the office who were watching her with concern—Lu Zheng's deep gaze was questioning, Qin Haoran looked inquisitive, An Ran's eyes were filled with pure worry, and even Qin Haochu was looking at her with concern.

We can't keep it a secret any longer.

This matter is no longer just about her personal safety; it involves a life and a vast criminal network behind it.

She pursed her lips, took a deep breath, turned her phone screen towards them, and spoke clearly and calmly: "Han Ming just sent me a message, and... a document. He said it's 'an apology' from 'Crescent Moon,' and it might contain evidence related to this framing, or even... something more important."

The next day, just as dawn was breaking.

Despite the twists and turns and thrills of the night, Su Xiaonuan's task of setting up her stall is still ongoing.

But she wasn't in a hurry. Selling stinky tofu at the night market usually seemed more appropriate and business would be much better, so she decided to rest at the police station during the day, finish up her work, and then set up her stall in the evening.

Sure enough, around 8 a.m., during the morning rush hour, people started coming and going in front of the police station.

As Su Xiaonuan expected, a new storm unfolded on schedule.

A woman wearing a tight black suit dress, with big wavy hair, ten-centimeter stilettos, and exquisite makeup that couldn't hide the grief and anger on her face, rushed into the police station lobby like a black whirlwind.

She clutched a piece of paper tightly in her hand, her gaze like a poisoned knife. With a quick sweep through the crowd, she immediately and precisely locked onto Su Xiaonuan, who was sitting on a bench, sipping hot water to recover her strength.

"It's you! You heartless, wicked woman!" The woman screamed, her voice so sharp it could pierce eardrums. Like a raging lioness, she raised her hand and, with a fierce gust of wind, slapped directly at Su Xiaonuan's face!

All of this happened so fast that no one expected it!

Lu Zheng, who was closest to Su Xiaonuan, reacted almost instinctively, faster than his brain could process it. He subconsciously stepped forward, wanting to use his broad back to shield Su Xiaonuan from the slap.

However, someone was faster than him!

Just as the fingers painted with bright red nail polish were about to touch Su Xiaonuan's cheek, a fair and slender hand, yet containing astonishing strength, gripped the woman's wrist with precision and swiftness, like an iron clamp!

It's Su Xiaonuan!

She didn't even stand up, remaining seated, only raising her hand with her fingers clenched.

The woman's slap, delivered with all her might, was seemingly effortlessly and firmly held in mid-air, unable to advance an inch!

The woman stared in astonishment, seemingly unable to believe that this seemingly petite and delicate girl possessed such strength.

Su Xiaonuan's face was innocent, but her eyes suddenly turned cold, like a frozen lake.

She flicked her wrist sharply, with a skillful and decisive force!

"Oh!"

"ah!"

The woman, wearing high heels, was already unsteady. This sudden, skillful force caused her to lose her balance. She cried out in surprise, stumbled forward a few steps in a disheveled manner, and finally fell flat on her face with a "plop"—a classic "dog-face-in-the-mud" moment!
