Chapter 412 I Didn't Back Down

Whether it's difficult or not isn't up to the audience to decide; it only counts when the two parties involved actually face off and a result is reached.

Ever since they learned that Sang Ning and the others had returned, McIntyre and his crew have been unable to eat or sleep well for the past few days.

I used to feel very safe with my own house, and I didn't even need to keep watch at night.

Once the front door is closed, I lie down on the solid wood bed covered with thick quilts, pull the covers over myself, and sleep incredibly comfortably.

But their enjoyment of these days didn't last long before they had to start keeping watch again.

However, this night watch was different from the previous ones. The previous night watch was to guard against danger, but this night watch was to guard against Sang Ning and his group suddenly appearing.

Therefore, there is no need for two people to work together; just one person needs to stay awake and check on the situation every now and then.

It was Gu Jingchen's turn to keep watch tonight. He sat in bed and dozed off. In his half-awake state, he felt very hot and wanted to drink water.

As soon as he opened his eyes and glanced at Sang Ning and the others' live stream, he immediately jumped up and shouted, "Old Mai, wake up! Sang Ning and the others are coming!"

"What? They've broken through? Who broke through? Holy crap, you mean Sang Ning and his men broke through?"

MacIntyre, belatedly realizing the meaning behind Gu Jingchen's words, was wide awake. He nimbly got out of bed, stood barefoot on the stone-paved floor, and, with one hand on his hip in a commanding manner, asked, "Where are they?"

See for yourself.

With a flick of his finger, Gu Jingchen brought up the holographic page of Sang Ning's live stream and displayed it in mid-air.

However, McIntyre saw three figures walking up the mountainside as if on flat ground in the darkness.

And the horned dragon family, walking steadily and silently behind Sang Ning and the others.

Seeing that Sang Ning and the others remained calm, McIntyre felt like he was going to have a terrible time when he saw the horned dragon family.

He exclaimed in shock, "Why did they bring the whole family of horned dinosaurs along?"

Gu Jingchen had already tidied himself up. Hearing the voice, he didn't even look up and said, "Don't worry about that. Hurry up and get dressed and ready for battle."

A fierce battle is coming.

Sang Ning and his two companions were already difficult to deal with, but now with the addition of the horned dragon family, they are even more difficult to handle.

They didn't know if the pearl bird was there; if it was, they would need to consider whether or not to leave the house.

The way Ji Mengjiao and the others were eliminated was simply too disgusting and miserable; they didn't want to receive the same treatment.

The thought of being attacked on a large scale by bird droppings made Gu Jingchen feel disgusted.

"Hurry up, I'm going to wake Agnes and the others up."

Before he could finish speaking, Gu Jingchen arrived at the door, opened it, and rushed out to the two girls' room. He raised his hand and began to knock loudly, "Get up quickly, Sang Ning and the others are here."

Agnes and Margaret, who were awakened from their sleep by the loud knocking on the door, immediately became alert upon hearing Gu Jingchen's words.

"Okay, we understand, we'll get up right away."

"Alright, hurry up, I'll go check the traps."

So Gu Jingchen left, taking with him the oil-burning torch stuck in the wall as he went out to check the traps.

Hearing the footsteps fading away outside the door, Margaret, who was getting dressed, said in a deep voice, "Agnes, do you think we can win today?"

Agnes, who was also dressed, paused for a moment before softly uttering, "The chances are slim, but if we give it a shot, a miracle might happen."

Are you in or not?

She asked Margaret.

Margaret thought her question was quite tactless, and smiled as she said, "That's nonsense. If I didn't want to fight, would I have hurt my hands like this?"

As she spoke, she held her hand right up to Agnes's eyes so she could see it.

Margaret's hands looked really bad at that moment; there were traces of mud under her fingernails, and even though she had washed them clean, her nails still looked filthy.

Besides, her fingers, palms, and even the backs of her hands were covered with wounds of varying depths.

Some of these wounds had scabbed over, some were just bloody marks, and some were gaping open and looked particularly frightening.

In short, these are no longer the hands of a pampered woman.

Agnes's hands weren't much better off. Although they didn't have as many bloodstains as Margaret's, they had many blisters and her nails were filthy, which was caused by digging holes to cover traps.

Agnes shook Margaret's hand and said calmly, "We did our best, but the outcome is not up to us."

"Now, it's time for us to go out and fight."

"Walk!"

So the two girls went out with high spirits and encountered McIntyre, who was looking hesitant and muttering to himself. When they leaned closer to listen, good heavens, he was wondering if he would get beaten less if he admitted defeat.

Margaret and Agnes immediately wanted to kill him. "You still want to beg for mercy?"

Grabbing McIntyre's earlobe, Margaret gritted her teeth and said, "Old McIntyre, I really didn't know you were such a coward."

"I didn't back down."

McIntyre felt he could still be salvaged, and he argued vehemently, "I'm saying just in case, we can't keep talking back and get beaten up after losing."

"Preparing in advance will never hurt you."

He's not really at a disadvantage, but his behavior is really demoralizing.

The audience was quite speechless and kept sending comments urging Margaret and her team to eliminate McIntyre early.

Given his personality, once Sang Ning and the others arrive and the two sides meet, this guy might betray them and expose the location of the entire trap.

That would mean they would all be wiped out.

The three of them, "..."

Is this even human language?

"Don't mess around."

Margaret said irritably, "I've always wondered whether you're our audience or our enemies."

"I have to admit I'm impressed that you guys could come up with such a terrible idea."

"Stop trying to persuade him. We can't possibly eliminate Old Mai. Even if he is eliminated, it will be by Sang Ning and the others."

They don't need to target their teammates right now; it hasn't come to that point yet.

It will only be time to consider this matter if they eliminate Sang Ning and his team; there's no need to consider it now.

The most urgent task is to lie in ambush and launch a surprise attack on Sang Ning and his men.

"Let's go, we need to get to work."

"OK!"

So the three of them arrived at the gate. After checking the traps, Gu Jingchen saw the firelight and rushed over, saying, "We'll each take one direction, okay?"

"No."

Margaret and the others readily accepted Gu Jingchen's proposal.

"Alright, Margaret, you go to the back, Agnes, you go to the left, Old Mike, you go to the right, I'll guard the front. We absolutely cannot let Sunning and the others eliminate us easily, got it?"

"...I've got it."

"action."

The four rushed in their respective directions, quickly concealing themselves perfectly under the cover of night.
