Chapter 40 Treatment
There was no sound for the first hour, and the room was quiet behind the closed door.
Aunt Zhou's heart was beating fast and she held Zhou Liang's hand tightly.
The fucking hand was not a hand but a pair of pliers. Zhou Liang was pinched so hard that his teeth grimaced and he gritted his teeth to prevent himself from crying out.
He gritted his teeth and comforted: "Mom, don't worry, sister-in-law is very powerful."
Aunt Zhou nodded hurriedly, staring at the room without moving her eyes.
"ah!"
Zhou Nian's shrill scream exploded, like a cat's meow at night, and the listeners instantly got goosebumps all over their bodies.
"It's Xiao Nian, what happened to her?" Aunt Zhou was at a loss. She let go of Zhou Liang's hand and subconsciously wanted to rush into the house.
Now it was Zhou Liang's turn to hug his mother: "Mom, sister-in-law said we can't go in."
My daughter's screams became more and more shrill.
Aunt Zhou's heart felt like it was being squeezed tightly, it was sore and painful, her eyes were red and swollen. When she heard her son's words, she stopped, but she couldn't stand and kept turning in front of Zhou Liang.
Zhou Liang felt dizzy from spinning around, but he didn't dare to say a word.
Zhou Nian's screams continued, and because they were so miserable and shrill, they were heard outside.
The neighbors next door heard the Zhou family's screams and gathered at the door to look inside.
They were stunned when they saw Zhou Liang, Jiang Chen and Aunt Zhou standing outside the door, and Zhou Nian screaming miserably in the house.
Aunt Zhou gave birth to two sons and only had this one daughter. She loved Zhou Nian the most. Normally, she would feel distressed for a long time when Zhou Nian got bumped. Now Zhou Nian was screaming so miserably that the onlookers were scared. How could Aunt Zhou still stand outside the door?
"Poor thing, why are you screaming so miserably?"
"Why doesn't Aunt Zhou go in and see Zhou Nian?"
"What are you doing at my door?" Aunt Zhou's eldest son Zhou Ping came back with his wife Wei Jie.
"Zhou Ping is back. Go check on your sister. Why is she screaming so miserably?"
Zhou Ping rushed into the yard when he heard his sister's screams.
Wei Jie, who was one step behind, looked particularly ugly.
Half a month ago, her mother-in-law said she wanted to find a husband for Zhou Nian and she would pick and choose carefully. She thought it was ridiculous because Zhou Nian looked fat, dark and ugly, and yet she looked down on others.
But the Zhou family was well-off, and Zhou Nian had two older brothers to support her. Wei Jie became interested and went back to her parents' home to discuss with her mother about setting up a match between Zhou Nian and her cousin Wei Chang.
It was supposed to be a good thing, but Zhou Nian was so fragile. When his cousin told him the truth, Zhou Nian couldn't stand it. He came back and acted like he was dying for several days.
Even her whole family lost their good attitude towards her.
Wei Jie felt aggrieved when she thought about this incident. Her cousin was not wrong. Zhou Nian was indeed like a black pig. It was just that Zhou Nian was spoiled too much by her mother-in-law and could not bear to listen to a word.
She told Zhou Ping about her grievances, but she didn't expect Zhou Ping to also criticize her, saying that her cousin had a foul mouth. What was even more hateful was that the gangster Zhou Liang actually beat up her cousin!
Her parents blamed her, her husband's family also blamed her, and it was all because of Zhou Nian!
Zhou Nian screamed miserably, but Wei Jie felt particularly happy in her heart. She put on a concerned expression on her face and followed Zhou Ping into the door.
Zhou Ping saw his mother and brother standing in the yard, letting his sister scream in the house. He asked in confusion, "What's going on?"
Aunt Zhou stared at the house without saying a word.
Zhou Liang explained it again.
Zhou Ping frowned tightly, "Ye Rou treated Nian Nian? Can she treat illnesses? Don't let anyone fool you."
Jiang Chen looked at Zhou Ping with a serious gaze.
Zhou Ping froze and didn't dare to say anything more, but he became more and more dissatisfied, thinking that his brother and mother were just fooling around.
Wei Jie followed behind Zhou Ping and asked with concern when she heard Zhou Nian scream.
The other three people were preoccupied with their own thoughts and ignored her.
Wei Jie felt that they were still concerned about her cousin's affairs. She gnashed her teeth in hatred and wished Zhou Nian would die quickly.
She secretly caught a glimpse of Zhou Nian grinding the mirror, but she didn't tell anyone about it.
Zhou Nian screamed more and more miserably, calling her Aunt Zhou repeatedly.
Aunt Zhou was so distressed that she could barely breathe, her eyes reddened. "It's incurable. We won't treat it."
As she spoke, she pushed away Zhou Liang who was trying to stop her.
Zhou Liang was about to chase after her, but his brother hugged him tightly: "Zhou Liang, you usually act like a fool, but now Xiao Nian is screaming so miserably, why don't you feel sorry for her and stop her?"
Zhou Liang's eyes turned red with anger: "You know shit!"
Three years ago, he was bullied by thugs in the town, and it was Jiang Chen from the same village who saved him.
If it weren't for Brother Jiang, he would have been beaten to death long ago.
In his heart, Jiang Chen ranks first, because Brother Jiang is awesome and he respects Jiang Chen from the bottom of his heart.
He admired Ye Rou from the bottom of his heart for being able to make Brother Jiang admit his mistake.
Only his sister-in-law can cure Nian Nian's illness.
"Let me go!" Zhou Liang yelled.
Zhou Ping held him tightly and refused to let go.
Wei Jie followed suit and said, "Uncle, Ye Rou hasn't even been to school. She just helped out at the clinic for a few days. Do you really believe she can cure illnesses?"
"Don't tell me I'm lying to you on purpose. Do you want something from our house?"
Zhou Ping took her words to heart and hugged Zhou Liang tightly.
Zhou Liang couldn't break free, his eyes widened, hoping that Brother Jiang could stop his mother.
Aunt Zhou rushed to the door, but Jiang Chen blocked it.
"Jiang boy, get out of the way. I want to tell Xiaorou that we can't treat her anymore."
Aunt Zhou had saved Jiang Chen's life, so Jiang Chen's expression wasn't as cold and hard as others'. "Aunt, you can't go in."
The closer they got to the room, the more shrill Zhou Nian's screams became, ringing in Aunt Zhou's ears. She shook her head frantically, "I want to go in."
Jiang Chen tried to stop her, but Aunt Zhou forced her way in and pushed Jiang Chen hard.
He didn't even move a foot.
Aunt Zhou was exhausted and out of breath.
Zhou Nian let out another high-pitched scream, and then stopped abruptly. Anyone who heard it would know that he had fainted!
Aunt Zhou collapsed. This was a piece of flesh that had fallen from her body, the daughter she had spoiled for seventeen years.
She was now a mother beast protecting her cubs. Anyone who blocked her path became an enemy in her eyes. She suddenly swung her hand and slapped Jiang Chen in the face.
“Get out of the way!”
Jiang Chen's face was hit sideways, and the bright red fingerprints were particularly clear.
Zhou Ping and Zhou Liang, who had been arguing, were dumbfounded.
Wei Jie, who was fanning the flames nearby, was stunned.
The group of people watching the excitement outside the door froze.
At this moment, the courtyard was eerily quiet.
The two brothers Zhou Ping and Zhou Liang stopped fighting. Zhou Liang rushed to his mother with his eyes swollen from being beaten by his brother: "Mom, why did you hit Brother Jiang!"
Zhou Ping stood in front of his mother and stared at Jiang Chen warily, afraid that he would suddenly attack someone.
Jiang Chen was so tall that the brothers Zhou Ping and Zhou Liang had no intimidating power in front of him.
He poked the face that had been hit with his tongue, glanced at Aunt Zhou, who was still blocking the door, and didn't say another word.
Zhou Liang's heart was beating like a drum. He knew how crazy Brother Jiang could get when he was angry. He rushed up and blamed his mother first because he was afraid that Jiang Chen would really get angry.
The door creaked and opened from the inside.
