Chapter 111 The candlelight danced in his golden eyes...

I was so shocked I couldn't speak. He pulled me down the steps.

As I approached the golden carriage, I stopped in my tracks. "You've misunderstood. I don't have any special feelings for you."

“It can be cultivated gradually,” he said gently.

The once cold and sinister look in his eyes disappeared, and the bloodthirsty aura of killing vanished from his body.

"Are you planning to marry me?" I asked.

He smiled slightly but did not speak.

“If you don’t intend to marry me, then forget it. Several men have already asked me to be their mistress, but I haven’t accepted them all,” I said coldly.

He smiled and said, "I am not of the same race as you. The king of the Elven race cannot marry a woman of another race."

"Then forget it," I said immediately. "We're not a good match."

"But I really want to be with you, it's true." In front of the golden carriage, he suddenly embraced me. It was so sudden that I couldn't refuse or break free.

“During the four years you disappeared, I wanted to find you every single moment.” He hugged me tightly. “I wish you could be by my side every day, just like before.”

"Then I'll be the head maid, that way I can still stay by your side," I said, struggling with my words.

"I don't want to. I can no longer control my feelings. I really want to be with you."

"But you can't marry me, isn't that irresponsible of you?"

“I can take responsibility,” he hugged me tighter, so tight I could hardly breathe, “I can give you anything except the title of Queen.”

“I only want the title of Queen,” I said immediately. He may not have it, but I want it right away, something he can’t afford.

“You’ll understand someday.” Seeing how much I struggled, he slowly released me. “Whatever the Queen has, you will have too.”

My voice grew even colder. "I've made my conditions very clear: either marry me and make me your queen, or give me up. You decide for yourself."

"I'll wait until you figure it out." His dark gold eyes were like a bottomless ocean, capable of easily drawing people in.

I turned my head away and stopped looking at him.

——

The palace where the Elf King stayed on the island was said to have been the residence of the previous island lord, and its layout and security were extremely tight.

Wherever I go, I see intricate corridors and corners, and rows of guards patrolling back and forth.

Escaping would be as difficult as climbing to heaven.

I had a brief chat with Roan. While the Elf King was surrounded and talking with some nobles, I, sitting in the golden carriage, exchanged a few words with Roan, who was standing outside the carriage.

"I'm sorry, I left in a hurry last time and couldn't take you with me." I said, hiding behind the carriage curtain.

"It's alright, sister, King Sarga didn't make things difficult for me." He looked ahead with a serious expression, but in reality, he was answering.

How can we escape from here?

“It will be difficult, and King Sarga will be returning to the Elven Realm in a few days, making your escape even more difficult then.”

"I have a few companions, have you caught them?"

"We've got him."

The Elf King's gaze suddenly pierced through the circle of nobles and landed directly in our direction.

It was like a ray of light that contained both sharpness and a warning.

Luo An immediately moved to the back of the carriage, standing even straighter with his chest out and stomach in.

I then drew all the curtains, pretending nothing had happened.

"What kind of wedding do you prefer, a lively one or a relatively quiet one, a luxurious one or a simple one?" In the spacious, elegant, and beautiful living room, the Elf King, seated in an armchair, asked me as I trimmed my nails on the carpet.

Ever since I worked with Princess Yanni, I've also started to enjoy trimming my nails—she does it to pass the time, while I try to distract myself and avoid looking at the person in front of me.

"Didn't you say it was impossible for you to marry a woman from another race? What wedding are you talking about?" I was busy trimming my nails.

"You'll have everything except for signing a formal marriage certificate."

"Thanks, but no need."

"No, you need it." His lips suddenly came close to mine, his breath brushing against my ear. The nail clippers fell onto the carpet. I was startled and immediately moved away from him.

“No need,” I turned my face away. “I’m already married, and I have a formal marriage certificate.”

After hesitating for many days, I finally decided to tell the truth. My hesitation stemmed from not knowing the consequences of speaking out. Would marrying his political enemy lead him to my death? Or would I become a tool he could use to threaten Attiyah?

When he didn't respond for a long time, I looked up.

He was staring intently at me, his golden pupils gleaming with an unfathomable light.

"You're not lying to me?" he asked.

"No." My heart was pounding, so hard I could almost hear it.

"With whom did you sign the marriage certificate?"

"I don't want to talk about it."

I almost cried. I really didn't want to say it, afraid that saying it would put me in a bad position.

His captivating eyes were slightly closed, and I breathed a heavy sigh of relief, so I wouldn't have to make eye contact.

His golden eyelashes, like dense tree shadows, were long and thick, concealing mystery and allure within his secret realm.

I wish he could close his eyes a little longer so I could admire the breathtaking beauty of his eyelashes.

He opened his eyes, suddenly stood up, and without leaving a word, drifted away.

The door slammed shut with a loud bang, and my whole body jolted.

He's angry. He's really angry.

——

He then disappeared for two days. Those two days felt like an eternity to me.

It wasn't that I felt like I was living through the days because I couldn't see him, but rather that the defenses suddenly tightened. There were three squads of guards outside my door, and ten more maids inside.

They watched me from morning till night, even when I was eating or using the toilet, which was unbearable.

I had no idea that this Elf King was so possessive; he went to great lengths to prevent me from escaping.

In the middle of the night, I was sitting on my bed surrounded by a dozen maids—on my bed and under theirs—thinking about negotiating with the Elf King, because I couldn't stay locked up here forever. The door, which had been tightly closed, opened, and a tall, slender figure appeared in the doorway.

We were all stunned—

I saw a handsome blond man, naked from head to toe, with skin so white it shimmered. In the bright moonlight and dim candlelight, he was like a walking moonlight and starlight, shining brightly as he walked across the soft, expensive crimson carpet and floated to the bedside, where he embraced me.

I was stunned.

The maids knelt down to pay their respects and then hurriedly left.

The huge room was empty except for the two of us.

Under the shifting moonlight and soft candlelight, his face was stunningly beautiful, like a gorgeous poppy blooming on the other side of the river. His pale skin shone with a diamond-like brilliance. From head to toe, he radiated this alluring glow, captivatingly enchanting.

The flowing, golden curls of his hair exuded a fragrant, rich scent that captivated my senses, momentarily making me feel a fleeting illusion of wanting to be with him forever.

As his blond hair enveloped my body, his breath touched my lips and teeth, and his pale skin pressed against my burning body, I couldn't help but reach out and touch his constantly bobbing Adam's apple. My hand was gripped by his burning palm, and I was pressed down beneath him by his hot yet icy body.

His body was scorching hot, but his innate temperament was icy cold.

The candlelight danced in his golden eyes, deep and heavy, as if the night and the sea were hidden within them, making me feel as if I were trapped by him.

Just as he was about to kiss my trembling lips, I covered his face—covering his entire face with both hands.

"No, I'm already married."

"So what? I want you." His voice was deep and magnetic.

"Can't."

I don't know where I got the strength, but I first used my knee to push him hard. He obviously didn't expect me to have this move, and he grunted. I immediately kicked him with my right foot, knocking him a little off course. He quickly rolled and scrambled off the bed.

"Get away from me!" I jumped out of bed, holding a candlestick, and took a few steps back. "Otherwise, I'll burn this house down."

He laughed and got out of bed naked. "You're getting more and more interesting to me."

He walked towards me step by step, his naked, snow-white, glowing body exposed, while I retreated step by step, holding the candlestick.

"Don't come any closer, or I'll really burn the house down!" I frantically shook the candlestick a few times.

He suddenly burst into laughter, a wild, hoarse, and decadent laugh, carrying a hazy sense of midnight indulgence.

"Burn it," his golden eyes held a hint of madness, "whatever you like."

I gripped the candlestick tightly in my hand. "Leave the room now, and I won't do anything."

“Leave? Impossible.” He took a few more steps closer. “Starting tonight, I want to be with you every night.”

"Why are you clinging to me like this?" I almost burst into tears.

“You’re the one who’s been clinging to me. You’re in every dream I have, in my daily morning meetings. I always think, how wonderful it would be if you were still standing there, reporting to me every day, letting me see you every day.” His eyes were deep and unfathomable, yet they made no attempt to conceal the most naked desire.

I was startled, and the candlestick slipped from my hand. Flames shot up and ignited the carpet, but we were oblivious. We stared at each other for a long time through the ever-growing flames.

The fire grew larger and the smoke thicker, choking me and causing me to cough. He seemed to snap out of a daze, suddenly striding across the increasingly fierce flames. I don't know how he did it, but he scooped me up in his arms and strode out of the room...

——

From that night on, he would be with me naked every night.

He slept in the long armchair in my room, the pale moonlight filtering through the curtains that weren't fully drawn, illuminating his smooth, white, strong, and muscular body, as powerful as a wild cheetah. His broad back and narrow shoulders possessed a lethally defined line, his elegant, snow-white waist and the powerful curves of his body extending from his back down to his firm, shapely buttocks, tracing a perfectly rounded arc and releasing an overwhelming amount of hormones.

You can hardly imagine that just over four years ago, this body was so thin it looked like a skeleton, with so many bones you could count them all, but now it's completely different.

I secretly hid in bed and, through the gaps in the bed curtains, saw his perfect body, comparable to that of an ancient Greek statue, and marveled at it for a long time.

His body was simply too beautiful. It was determined by the texture of his skin, so white and translucent that it shimmered and sparkled under the moonlight, making him breathtakingly beautiful.

Every time I see it, I'm amazed; there's never a time when I'm not amazed.

Sometimes I fall asleep while watching it.

And so the day came to leave the island.

That day, I was woken up very early by the maid and dressed in a slightly thick white long dress, with a white hooded long coat to block the wind, and a pair of soft, thick-soled gray-white boots. I knew then that I was going on a long trip.
